……..what a sweet soul you are.....you have been teaching us about caring for our orchids for a while...and as you say so often....."the more we know.....the more we can grow"......I just want everyone to have the same success I've had, and be able to grow these beautiful plants...…….thank you my friend, ...….wishing you and your beautiful family many blessings....this will be a wonderful growing year...….
THANK YOU SO MUCH! AND YES THIS WILL BE A WONDERFUL GROWING YEAR...AND ON SO MANY LEVELS! I trust and believe that God is always working things out in our favor and to the benefit of those who love and serve Him. He is constantly in the midst of things...even when we don't understand his plan...his plan is greater and far more than we can even begin to imagine. Stay blessed!
Wow very interesting about the seaweed fertilizer I can't wait to see the aloe vera one I was kind of interested your shirt director would be forward then I would be backwards the wording LOL your flowers are looking beautiful and your tree I wish I could get one of those pods from your tree to grow one take care
Congrats on your new grow space ! I like it. I didn’t know you have so many mounted orchids. That lady who stole the orchid pod was funny 😄as if you didn’t see her. Thank you for sharing & happy growing.
SHARON SHORT' Orchids and Garden Yes mam I will...and it appears to be doing well so far. I've watered them 3 times already and no burns and roots and growths continue...so I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping to see some positive results. Thanks for watching and HAPPY GROWING!
You are the most enthusiastic, naturally happy grower on You Tube! I love your effervescent personality! Have you heard from Rick L? Last video was July update. I miss his lessons and passion to understand the reasons to feed properly and the results are amazing! Same with Amy, the orchid whisperer. Sad.
Rick is awesome. he loves researching the scientific properties of fertilizers. Aquarium water works great if you have one. Mulch underneath your grow area is also a good method for increasing moisture retention in soil under your grow area. It will also make that tree go insane with growth. Do not despair about the tree cutback. Right now you should be noticing new growth popping out due to the cutback. New grow area will be created for you as the two bush like portions become larger now. You can prevent crews from pruning again by keeping the tree out of the power line yourself. Nice new greenhouse. Just a tad jealous.
Thanks for watching! With the new grow season at hand...there's no telling where it will lead...only that it will be quite adventurous...anything having to do with orchids always is! LOL! HAPPY GROWING AND WISHING YOU THE ABSOLUTE BEST! :)
Love seeing you so happy!! And your grow space is awesome! And I've learned SO much from you, and I'm actually "growing " with you when it comes to this new way to fertilize...i cant wait to see results. I have a bunch of orchids that need to be fertilized bad. My seaweed tea is ready to go!!And it looks the same color as yours, yay! And I have one of those hose fertilizer thingys!! I also recently received a bonsai (ginseng ficus) looks like Groot🌱 (Guardian of the Galaxy reference 😉) Would it be ok to use on that? Or say any of my indoor plants? (orchids/succulent mainly) Thank you for sharing all your knowledge with us!! Have a great weekend!!!!❣🦉 P.S....Who hit unlike? Why? Not cool🐏
Cristin Arnold YAAAAAAAAAY!!!! I am so happy to have a "Seaweed Sister" that has bonded in this mission with me! We are stepping on the wild side and outside of the orchid norm...but how will we ever know if we don't try, right! By going against the grain I've discovered so much and have done what most say can't be done and that makes it worth the risk. I do use this on my orchids as well as all of my plants. I don't think you will have any problems with your succulents and GROOT (how adorable). I've fertilized now 3 times and so far so good...it didn't burn any of the roots and new roots continue to grow. Another benefit of using seed weed on edible plants, fruits and vegetables is that it is known to strengthen and enhance the flavor. If you are concerned about your succulents, I'd only do a couple to ensure the rest will do fine. Thank you for your very kind comments I do appreciate it and am so glad that you have joined me on my orchid adventures! :). I am wishing you plant growing success with your fertilizing adventure and please keep me posted. PS I always get dislikes on almost all of my videos. It doesn't matter what I do or the topic....but what can you say not, everybody is not going to like you or what you do. But just as long as someone benefits from my videos and my passion, then my work is done and I am happy. So no worries my friend. I will keep making videos regardless because I do love to make them and share with my orchid buddies. The more that we know, the more that we can grow is my motto! :)
Great video! The only thing that gets me a little confused is what is the actual volume of fertilizer that you're using overall per month? At the moment I only fertilize my orchids once a month or every other week depending on the season.
The way that the sprayer works only a very little amount is being dispersed so it is very heavily diluted. Because it is so weak I use the seaweed & fish emulsion once a week...and the fourth week of the month I use a well rounded fertilizer. I am also using homemade aloe very fertilzer/supplement once a month as well. Thanks for watching and I hope this cleared things up.
@@PictureMaria1 Yes, I'm just always paranoid about doing to much. But it sounds like you just do a little bit of a variety to give them more various nutrients.
@@EccentricNature Yes that's correct and the fact that I am trying a more organic and natural approach to giving my plants what they need without the processing and all of the additives that are found in store bought fertilizers. I just recently made an orange peel supplement that I will be feeding my acid loving plants...so the organic and more economical adventure begins!
Hi Maria, I've been growing orchids for 3 or 4 years now, and I'm still learning so much, when I went into this I went full force with the ph pens, with the ppm pens special fertilizers, lights..the whole 9 yards....I have wanted to use this Alaska fertilizer for a long time now, when I mix this with water and take a ph reading its is off the charts unless I add 1 drop per like 2 gallons which surely cant be of any benefit...what is it that I'm not understating here, since orchids will only absorb there nutrients at a ph of 5.5 to 6.5? Was I doing it right and just over thinking it?
I would actually recommend using a watering sprayer that is specifically created for grower who like to add their own mix of fertilizer. This one in particular was not one really for that and it was a little bit difficult to pop off the cap each time I wanted to fill the bottle up. I will try and find a link where you can purchase...but you can get it at your local hardware stores and also your Walmart.
@@PictureMaria1 Ah ok, i thought that this device would work smoothly and reduces more works for gardeners. But look like it not like the advertising video, haha
@@vapelandvnIt does make it easier for me to fertilize because I used to use a hand held sprayer and it took me all day to do it...but by using this method it makes it so much easier...it is just the top can be a little frustrating to pop off because I always have to find a butter knife to help pop it off. That's why I said it would be better to get another type of sprayer where you wouldn't have to worry about that.
@@PictureMaria1 Ah, i understand your situation. Lucky that i didn't order it yesterday. And I hope that can see your next videos with another useful sprayers :)
I have used fish fertlizer along with my regular fertilizers and it did not effect my plants. But different fertilizers can effect plants in different ways so if you plan on doing it I would start out with a couple to make sure it doesn’t have any negative effects before I used it on all of my plants. Also I only fertilize my plants about once a month with regular fertilizer. So make sure you don’t over do it and that you follow the instructions for each fertilizer type accordingly. Best wishes and HAPPY GROWING!
Tina Marie Malinowski Yes you can find all types of fertilizers there. I opted to find a more organic, fresh and free approach...just cutting out the middle man. Wish me luck and HAPPY GROWING!
I know....it had never happened before thank goodness. But I did start to worry. When I had put all of my orchids in my orchid kennel...it caused a lot of commotion. Every time I was outside cars driving by and people walking and jogging in the neighborhood stopped to comment on how beautiful my orchids were. It was really noticeable in my orchid kennel. When they were in my tree and garden...they didn't stick out so much. They faded into the backdrop of the greenery. So I recently got a lock to put on my orchid kennel...just in case...I couldn't imagine what I would do if someone robbed me of my orchids. That would be such a heartbreak.

If you raise tropical fish you have the best water to use on all your house plants I also use it to water my orchids
Marc Frey I know, I may have to look into getting me some. :)
Great video...love your enthusiasm 😊💕
I have learned so much about plant nutrition from Rick. Best time to pick up seaweed is after a storm. The fresher the better. Thanks for sharing
