The teacher encouraged fluency, identified repetition, identifying the beginning sound, ending inflectional sounds. The teacher engaged the child into the story.
If this is a running record, there is WAY too much teacher talk and prompting. It is supposed to be a record of what the child does while reading, not what a child does when given hints, etc.

"so you can show me what a great reader you are. Alright?" no pressure lol
This is so cute. I love kids. :)
So a child running record is a form of assessment..hmm.. So I am responsible for doing one but cannot find a sample of one. How do I create my own?

Did the child read the book once before or is this the child's first time reading the book?
I am a student majoring in Early Childhood Education. What did the abbreviations she wrote stand for? I saw her write T and SC several times.
T = Told student the word, SC = Self Correction
T -told (teacher tells the student the word) SC-self correction (student made an error, saw it, and fixed it himself.)
You are not supposed to coach a child while doing a running record. This doesn't give you an accurate picture of the child's word solving abilities.
For students who have IEP or 504 plans, this is within the abilities of the instructor to assist the student.
She is not giving the running record or comprehension portion of the RR according to the protocol.
The information she is gaining about the reader is useful in informing future instruction...so the protocol issue is really a non-issue.
