Part 1 of my Reaction to Interstellar. I filmed the intro separately to save space on the memory card... and DELETED IT before uploading it, haha!! Sorry there was no intro, but this was recommended by a Patreon member, R.BGames37!! Thank you for the great recommendation!

this is my all time favorite film, so well written. so well acted. it really has everything.
It was such a great film with ALL the feels!!! The whole bit about love:.. makes me think, if he let her go see Edmonds in the first place, the way she said it was leading her there… then would they have been able to eliminate all the wasted time?
me too its a beautyful movie, masterpiece
@@NiaMakiReacts yesss that line About love being felt through space and time has so much depth not only in the story but metaphorically with love being an unseen force like gravity is.
Just not scientifically accurate...foolish fantasy nonsense.
@@malcolmdrake6137 go have that discussion with Kip Thorne the Astrophysicist who advised on it. The black board with the equations were actually his own based on his research on black holes. But I’m sure you know better than him.
I have not cried in a while to someone reacting to Interstellar but watching you Nia lose it just sent me over the edge. "Because my dad promised me" is just the most heart-wrenching thing in a sea of deep inspiring moments in this movie Nia, you really took me back to the depth of seeing this movie. I saw it three times in the theater. So I could appreciate every moment.
I really wish I could have seen it in theater, but then again I might have been fighting tears there trying to keep my cool lol
Omg, this one came out of nowhere for me, but it's one of my favorite movies of all times. I'm aboard!
Yessss I wasn’t sure what to expect but by the end of it I was fully in it!!
Fun fact almost all of the old people talking about the dust at the beginning are actually clips from Ken Burns documentary on the American dust bowl. So they actually lived through what they are talking about
Wow, sometimes I forget how actual things in movies that seem so dramatic aren’t fiction… this movie is incredible on so many different levels!
10:01 great edit! and the shoulder lift/momentary zoom was fantastic
Thank you! 😆
11:53 Fun fact:
Everytime you hear a tick in the backround, one day passes on Earth.
I didn’t even hear the clock tick I’m going back to watch for that!!
@@NiaMakiReacts Ye, another mindfuck is that the wave they saw leaving killed the scientist, who landed there 12 years before them.
9:25 From a poem by Dylan Thomas (1914-1953). It was also the last line of the play _Beyond Reasonable Doubt_ by Jeffery Archer in which I performed earlier this year.
Oh! What type of performance was it ??
@@NiaMakiReacts Stage play.
Nia crying at 10 mins into the film... she's not ready
Lol too accurate, I couldn’t even formulate thoughts for the conclusion 😂
Another incredible thing for this sci-fi movie is the score which is not using synthesizers and is all physical instruments, primarily a large pipe organ
I automatically assumed it was synths!! Wow, that’s amazing
As you read from other commenters, Prof Kip Thorne of Caltech was a producer, consultant on the film and there to keep the science part as accurate as currently understood. He was also good friends with Drs. Stephen Hawking and Carl Sagan. In fact, Carl asked his friend Kip to help him keep the science accurate in his science fiction novel "Contact" that Carl began writing after doing his monumental "Cosmos" science series on TV in the 1980s. A series I recommend if you want to learn more about the sciences, especially astronomy and space sciences. Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson has continued the Cosmos series in recent years as he knew Carl Sagan too. Carl's scifi book was made into an awesome movie called "Contact" (1996) that also stars Matt McConaughey and one you should do a video on. On to part 2.🖖😎
Ooooh!!! That’s amazing! I get why this Was so amazing. Not just the visual and soundtrack but the actual writing and those that worked on it are all amazing, and I’ll definitely need to check out those books!!
I've watched a few of these reactions and nobody seems to feel much for Romilly after having to spend 23 years alone with no knowledge of if he would ever see his companions again. I'm glad you showed some appreciation for this moment as I think it's underappreciated by many. I can't imagine the mental toll this would take on a human.
That was absolutely sad… especially when you remember his initial struggle being in the spaceship… even with the rest of the crew. But he chose to live out his life.. then you think about Mann… when we first met him and he was crying, I felt for him too and the camera panned to Romilly… they both had that isolation… but my empathy for him (Mann) was short lived lol.
10:40 they hired nobel price physicists and astronomers.
That’s incredible!!
14:29 the tear factory is about to begin production....
Nia. I know family means the world to you. "Interstellar" takes you on a journey so profound it makes you rethink the ties you have with your family. It makes you ponder to what lengths one would go to in fulfilling a promise to your loved one, especially your son. I believe this is why the movie and its theme of parental love and sacrifice resonate with you so deeply. Great, amazing, heartfelt reaction. You won me over with this one.
Mannnnnnn as soon as kids are mentioned I’m like it’s a wrap for me, already instantly 120% invested 😂
"How do you come up with how to portray a wormhole?" The equations are well-understood by physicists, as are the equations of black holes (at least according to general relativity). These were programmed into a computer to produce the visuals. Kip Thorne was the technical consultant, which is why the third robot was called KIPP.
It still think that’s just amazing… to think that you can create equations about something especially a freaking black hole, and can reverse engineer the image from it. Space and especially physics are way out of my scope so I have no idea (slept through a virtually all my physics classes) but I can appreciate it none the less. It’s incredible
@@NiaMakiReacts I feel you, and I won't bore you. I will simply say three things: that general relativity is what predicted black holes in the first place, that wormholes work on paper but are highly unlikely, and that what Dr. Hugh Mann (human!) said in the movie is correct: the two great physical theories of today do not fit together, and it is the holy grail of physics to find a quantum theory of gravity. If we knew that, then we'd know what really goes on at the centre of a black hole.
@@drmikebass no no, it’s not a bore, I do love the explanations. Honestly it’s the math that I’m not a fan of 😂 but it is interesting. Great bullet points though
@@NiaMakiReacts Given your (understandable) horror of mathematics but interest in the subject as a whole, I feel duty-bound to recommend the following two books that manage the impossible: they explain the math without actually doing the math!
The first is The Einstein Paradox by Colin Bruce. Written as a collection of Sherlock Holmes mysteries, it does a fantastic job of tracing the path of thought from 19th century physics attitudes and ideas through to the present day, and it's a fun, detective-novel style read.
The second is Quantum Reality by Nick Herbert. This covers the same ground, but does it more directly, and also "explains the math" instead of doing it directly, thereby "keeping it real" as the kids say, instead of unduly burdening the reader.
I highly recommend both.
I happened to re-watch Interstellar after watching Arcane. This time when I gave up trying to understand the physics, I noticed that Murph had that abandonment thing in her. But she was able to set it aside or even fuel from it to do the rational job. It's not a real comparison, but I thought of Jinx/Powder immediately...
Oooh I didn’t even think of that parallel!!
@@NiaMakiReacts Normally I wouldn't have thought of that either because there are so many differences that make them uncomparable.
But if I still wanted to compare them, first it's the personality. A T vs F in terms of MBTI shows here, although there's something more of Powder like BPD.
And then, although Murph had also abandonment issue to some extent, she and her dad had a deep and firm mutual understanding and trust. They believed that the other one would try his/her best doing the right thing despite of the trauma. Thus it makes me just sigh that the misunderstandings and coincidences between Powder and Vi led the siblings turn their backs to each other...
@@littslerli6035 yes!!! Powder definitely had something more but I love the MBTI contrast too. They are both super smart, with abandonment issues and were separated from their fathers but like you said… Murph has a strong bond and trust where as Powder had so much trauma and mental issues that resulted from it :(
my favorite film!!!! omg i cant wait for it 🤩🤩
Amazing!! I loved it too! Definitely one of my top movies!!
13:17 in the future maybe a popup with your favorite Dr Who 🙂
Lol right? That would have been a great edit
I think you would really enjoy The Martian. It’s unexpectedly funny
I was about to start this comment and with enthusiasm then saw which movie the comment was left under and now I have Futurama Fry eyes
You can't do this to me please part 2 I want that part "because my dad promise me" kills me everytime.
I promise it will put it out asap! That moment really hurt!!! This movie was so sad but still such a feel good movie
10:42 Kip Thorne was a Consultant on the film i think he mildly had a hand in the story as well i'm not 100% on that detail. Kip is a Theoretical Physicist and Astrophysicist
I was wondering that!! Thank you so much, like I don’t remember if I asked in the conclusion cause I was an emotional wreck but I wanted to know how much of it was like actual real theory and facts!
@@NiaMakiReacts from what I remember in the making of the film reel Kip advised how the Black hole/worm hole would look based on the mathematical calculation. The math that is shown Murph working on are actually Written by Kip as well.
@@TraXlem wait really?!?! 🤯 mind blown! That’s amazing!
12:55 🤣 you said something about roller coasters?
If you grasped this you should check out Christopher Nolans Inception
That has been on my list for YEARS!!! Definitely felt like it was gonna be a lot so I was waiting for the perfect moment to watch it and it just never happened, I’ll have to watch that
10:28 i like this insight...
Who knew I’d be learning about myself doing this
@@NiaMakiReacts i liked hearing "put myself in their shoes", a wonderful quality for reaction videos. hope you'll watch some scary stuff (i suggest Hereditary)
Awesome! Perharps I was too harsh with this movie the first time around. Truth be told, I know I was. I could not accept parts of it until I watched the Half in the Bag review, and Mike Stoklasa said "why not?". I was a cynic bastard is why. Still am.. but at least I'm working on it now lol!
Ah, was it a little too out there for you? I loved the story telling, and emotionally it was just sooooo compelling from like a few minutes in. The science part, well, I’m no expert so I’m ok with anything they’ll throw at me lol
@@NiaMakiReacts I'm okay with the science (unmentioned plot holes and all), though I still think Neil DeGrasse Tyson was being kind to this story because his friend was the science advisor... It was the "love transcends time and space" thing that bothered me. But why not? How do I know it does not? Do I even know what it really is beyond the neuro-chemical description? The universe I choose to know is cold, dark, and unforgiving... Indifferent at best. I think I'm right. But I hope I'm wrong. Besides, Christopher Nolan is a storyteller, not a jerk-faced cynic like me lol!
I also hope the "Arrival" (2016) reaction is coming soon or at least in the queue!
@@Applejack30three ahhh! Yeah I kinda grazed over it lol. It wasn’t until after that I was thinking about how it tied into the plot. Lol Arrival is in queue!! Probably for this Sat! I actually need to see how long the movie to get ready lol
What's next Nia?
Just found your channel, subscribed. Are you going to make movie reactions in the future? I think you would do great.
Thank you George! I have 2 movies on deck so far for February! Depending on how efficient I get with editing I may add more!

Great reaction to such a great movie, nothing else quite like it out there and seeing it in imax was an unmatched theater experience.
I’m absolutely jealous! I wish I could have seen this in iMax!!
