Exact same thing happened to me (on an HX Stomp), even down to the knob being slightly stiffer before freezing up. Currently being "assessed" by Line6/Yamaha. Clearly those knobs are bit too fancy for their own good. I'm not sure I want to keep the device even with a repair ... you can't have the knobs, which are the whole interface of the device, being unreliable. How'd it go for you?
Sweetwater just ended up sending me a new helix. Took 2 months since they were back ordered. They asked me if I wanted to send my broken one in for repair which would have been quicker but I said no. I'll wait for a new one. Shit happens. I have bought many new expensive pedals that have failed or didn't work new Keeley, Friedman and even boonar. But sweetwater is the shit and that is why I shop with them. Is yours lined up to get repaired?
@@therangersinger It's in the shop for a tech to take a look. It's still open whether they'll repair or replace (or even refund) it. I initially asked for a refund/replacement and got a lot of push back from the guys in the shop, so I want to a sales rep for line6 and got a different attitude. So far the general attitude has pissed me off ... a busted knob is a busted pedal as far as I see it ... and this happened within 3 months of purchasing it .... but we'll see what happens.
@@errollloyd6721 I hope they take care of that for you. Components fail and companies need to back up their customers. Not like you were jumping on the damn thing anyway 😂
