- Impromptu Teardown of my Model X Keyfob. Had a bit of nice weather in between the cold the day I recorded this, so just grabbed the camera while the kids were blowing off winters pent up energy on the porch. This one is full of rambling and boring, but still gives an awesome look into the un-necessary over-engineering of a Tesla Key-Fob.

Found the reason why my 2016 Model S Keyfob drained the battery...
Was my own fault because I used a screwdriver to leverage the fob-cover at the front end. Inadvertedly I bent the tiny metal battery connector on the board slightly upward. This caused a short circuit right at the edge iof the battery, which heated up right away noticeably. No problem anymore after I bent the metal connector back into position. Your Model X connector looks somewhat different, Kman, but try to make shure there is no short right at the battery edge.
Only issue I had with a keyfob was losing one. Pretty sure I have at least one Gen1 "unsecure" key still.
Updating apps can do that. Sucks.
I used a slider for nearly a decade. Never updated ANYTHING and it mostly worked until the very end except for an incident where it went swimming.
Very cool channel thanks for the videos are very useful, I see you already know Tesla well, tell me please, I have a freon leak somewhere and I don’t blow air at all (air conditioner) How can a car behave and what are the disadvantages until I solve the problem? what consequences can be Thanks in advance for your reply 🙏 -THC_w0148
Your welcome!
Likely you have a small leak in one of the radiators. Common, stone or something gets kicked up while at high speeds. mine has a very slow leak too, tesla wants $2k to fix (again), $5 in r134a every spring brings it back up to full performance.
If your system doesn't hold at all, you'll be stuck going to tesla for diagnostics and repair. do NOT use any stop leak additive!!!! those "can" work on traditional car compressors, however, Tesla uses a variable speed scroll compressor, and stop leak will destroy it, and damage part of the rest of the system.
disadvantages of not fixing it, no active cooling of your battery. DO NOT SUPERCHARGE UNTIL ITS FIXED!
Brother help me with advice, I myself am from Ukraine now in Berlin and again I have to go to Ukraine. Berlin is very expensive and my business has lost weight since the beginning of the war and now there is a problem with money ((((
I charge a car only for chademo and there the speed is 25/42kw, do you think I can get to Ukraine at such a speed without freon
@@elvito3292 Carefully, do not run AC, easy acceleration.
What a waste of time this video is
