If you liked that video you might like Grace Jones “Slave to the Rhythm” original video where there are elements in it similarly done. Jean-Paul Goude (also from France) did this and it is from the same time period as the Philippe Decouflé videos. So I don’t know if it was a particularly French style at the time, or they were influencing or copying off of each other. Ian McShane has a spoken word part. However a warning, there’s nudity in this video including what I consider a gratuitous and controversial nude scene (albeit very brief). Despite this the video was nominated for an MTV award.
