Strong start with Russell as host - warm and personable which fits in well with this show. As a fan of Paul's interviewing skills, he has picked it up quite nicely. And Constance Wu was a great choice.

Russell is still rough around the edges as an interviewer; doesn't always know how to carry the conversation or do natural segues. Still makes for a decent sit down though. Lacks the charm that Paul had though.

@Constance, I thought of a way to order your drink and check if the bartender knows it at the same time. Order "a perfect Manhattan with just a bit more sweet vermouth than dry vermouth" - or vice versa, or even exaaactly equal amounts. If the bartender doesn't know the drink, they'll ask you what you're talking about and you can explain.

Man, changing the host really changed the feel of this show. Russell is definitely a funny guy and his stand up is great. But Paul is hands down a better listener. I don't mean that Paul spoke less, but rather he was so much more in tune with his guest and could steer the narrative towards funny or insightful things about his guest.

that mistranslation with the N word is the same with korean lmao idk why this happens in asian languages but in korean if you want to say "You" its pronounced "Nee-gah" and it sounds very similar to the N word so im sure the misunderstanding happens a lot too
In Punjabi language, the ‘N word' straight up means ‘eyesight'. We are afraid to say this world in any multicultural country where black people live so they don't get the wrong idea.

I am pretty hairy, but that is probably rare. It annoys the shit out of me that I am the only Asian with hair, which is why I wax (I am a male for reference, not female, not trans, none of dat shit). 那个 sounds exactly like "n***a." However, growing up, I have never seen an issue when Chinese people used that word, which is probably because I never really grew up with a lot of black people in my life.
