@@XenonFlow08 the science of that is that he got shot and CPR heals people with oxygen. The oxygen went into the brain and closed the wound. Though sarge suffered brain damage. Which would explain his more eccentric personality after season one

I know they went into’s Sarge’s backstory, but it would be interesting to see a bit more of Caboose’s backstory. I mean he did mention he grew up on the moon and apparently was a Harvard grad. Hell, he even is the team’s mechanic somehow!

yeah same here. in season 14 i think in one part where they showed the backstory of why the characters we know and love are there in the end you see captain flowers walk away from VIC and then we see the project freelancer leaderboard with caboose's name on it. to my knowledge it wasn't ever explained so i guess its open for interpretation

This PSA certainly aged well. They basically admitted that the series has run its course and are gonna finish it off with one last season.

@@robertchaney2704 We already got all the face reveals we're gonna get during the Freelancer sagas. They've said countless times that they're never gonna do a full face reveal for the OG cast, mostly because by now, they know that the actual apperances will never live up to how people imagine them. All we know is that Tucker is black, Wash is blonde (they showed the back of his head once) and a little pale, and that Church might look like The Director due to being based off him.

@@AnInsideJoke Church wouldn't look like the director because first he was put into the body of a random simulation soldier (Private Jimmy, who was a throwback to a joke in season 1 and became subject to what TVTropes calls a "cerberus retcon") and then a robot. And then Epsilon was put into a robot. And then one of those orb things. And then another robot

The joke is how they've been using the same characters for the past 17 years, so now they're using an almost entirely new cast for the next season to see how it goes.

Really, everyone's concerns / problems with how Zero looks is that it feels really out of place from what little we've seen so far, and the responses given to those concerns is "We don't care, deal with it. If you don't like it then don't watch it."

A flashback season of the Freelancers going on missions or just interacting with one another is something I've always wanted to see. Like season 9 but without the Reds and Blues. I know they've don't that already but it could be more like Carolina reminiscing or telling stories of how each of them was recruited.

If you're talking about the old cast sounding different it's because they are being written different by someone new, so they can get a 'new age' perspective completely neglecting the old fans and what they'd enjoy

I’d say put the reds and blues in more action pack scenarios that leave hilarious results. Like Caboose fighting someone as strong as he is but he think they’re just playing.
This aged perfectly watching it after RvB:Restoration
What I hoped from the last few seasons:
1. Carwash to be *confirmed with a face reveal.*
2. Sarge admitting he can't go on as a soldier, *like the Labrinth implied.*
3. Tucker and Sister to go off together.
4. Doc to have a spin off.
5. Carolina to have gotten pregnant on Chorus and keeping the child secret from Washington.
6. Caboose introducing his family to the cast.
7. Lopez gets Sheila back.
8. Wash retires full time.
9. Grif and Simmons start a talk show.
10. Sarge loses his *Shotgun.*

Honestly, the only way to really resurrect RvB *would* be to revive Church. We knew they were out of steam by the time Burnie final bailed, but without him a lot of the internal dynamic was lost. Wash and Carolina were the only subplot I've been at all invested in past that point... and they lobotomized Wash.
Personally I like the idea of a new cast but I don’t like that there is a ultimate weapon of the universe

@@Redstar2613 because its such a cliche boring generic plot device that has been overused so many times in stories and media. i know we haven't seen the season yet and it definitely depends with how they handle it, but with the premise being "big bad guy wants ultimate power to rule the world" , it just doesn't look like a promising season especially with the fact that we have a new cast of characters (for the majority). I feel like the animation is going to carry this new season very hard which is a shame.
To be honest, whoever is voicing Caboose in this is doing a pretty good job, but man, it's not the same...
It IS the same, Joel recorded all these before he was fired. Plus they came out months ago, not even sure why they waited until now to put them on RUclips, tbh.

Emma Woudul maybe. I guess I just immediately thought of Tex because we haven’t seen her in a really long time. I doubt church could come back, though, because his voice actor left Rooster Teeth.

This is actually kind of a concerning meta-commentary. This show needs to get proactive, and fast. The anthology was really special, so I'd like to see more like that. It's no secret their long form has been struggling to find its footing lately

As a Game Master, I can say one of the things my players loved the most was working with backstories.
I mean, RvB did that a lot with Church and in S17 also told a lot of the backstories, but still.
Also making a new cast like in S18 is actually not a bad idea, having the old cast as mentors, quests etc.
The problem with Zero was that the only interesting new character was West, I also liked the take on Carolina being called grandma and that it triggers her.
Also a season shouldn't be made like you let Michael Bay jerking off while directing.
Spicing things up is good, but new and original doesn't necessarily mean good. In that case, there are two options, if there is no good solution - Stick to the old, or declare the end before you ruin it. TeamFourStar quitted DBZA for a lot of reasons, and if I remember correctly, one of them was they had no ideas (but mostly Copyright etc.). So instead forcing it they ended on a high note.
So I am hyped for this final season coming up, because it is a good chance rescuing what Zero ruined.
Zero is a good example for spicing up - Sometimes, it can get too spicy.

The sad reality is that there are no more truly original ideas, or at least, none that would be enjoyable to watch. It's all about retelling an already known story in a new way, or examining it from a different perspective. And honestly, there's nothing wrong with that, just because I know how the story ends doesn't mean I won't enjoy it, as long as it's told well. Put enough love and heart into the retelling of a story, and it can become its own masterpiece.
Makes me happy to hear caboose and church...😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

It's funny, I feel like the last few seasons constituted deliberate efforts by the writing staff to un-flanderize a lot of the characters who had become sort of one-dimensional.
The Chorus trilogy expanded Tucker and Caboose and gave them new depth. Season 15 expanded Grif. Season 16 vastly developed Sister and started to look into Donut, and Season 17 really expanded Donut, Carolina, and Wash.
This lets them take the plot in new directions, and prevents their jokes from becoming predictable and lame. In other words, they were actively fighting against what kills mature sitcoms.
It felt good watching this
The “what if Doc and O’Malley were two different people” reminds me of a theory I had back in Season 13. Like, what if the Omega AI survived by jumping out of the Meta and simply layed dormant in Doc until he returned from the void after being sent away by the future cubes. I know this is never likely to happen but I actually liked Omega/O’Malley and his dynamic with Doc. It would have been fun to explore this more and maybe why he’d turned more Saturday-cartoon villain instead of ruthless psychopath. Point is, I like him
