    Thanks for the tutorial. I have two question if you don't mind. first I'd like to know when do we use the subdivision modeling method and when beveling method?! second do you have discord server so we can ask our modeling question there and ask for help?!

    Curious what you think about cinema 4D compared to blender? Trying to decide which one I should invest my time into… I’m mainly interesting in rendering keycap designs

  • @DarioBan
    @DarioBan Год назад

    You should try making game ready assets, high poly then bake normals to low poly maybe, especially weapons, props, etc. That'd be fun.

    • @polygonpen
      @polygonpen  Год назад +2

      Yeah, I am working on it actually and it works great between C4D, Marmoset and Substance.

    Glad to hear that you are doing well after the terrible events. I'm interested. Why did you do everything through bevel? I somehow got used to the fact that subdivision surface is used in the lessons. Unusual to see such a technique.)

    • @polygonpen
      @polygonpen  Год назад +1

      Thank you very much ❤
      I used this technique because it is simpler and faster.
      You need to choose a modelling technique before starting off any project, in my case, it was gonna be a waste of time if I tried to model this keybord in Subdivision Surface technique, that is basically why.
      But SubD workflow is gonna be always superior and more professional, I just wanted to spice up the content on my channel, I will also start to upload game model tutorials, these tuts will also have a different modelling approach, which is kinda similar to bevel/polygon modelling.

      @antonio.popkov Год назад

      @@polygonpen Thank you very much for the answer. In general, it is very pleasant that you communicate with the audience so easily. I have accumulated more questions (maybe you can't answer all of them :)). You said that before making a model, you need to choose a technique. How do you know which one is better to choose? Does it come with experience or do you try one technique first, it doesn't work, try another technique?
      I'm very interested, what is your job? And is it possible to see your commercial work somewhere?
      Thank you in advance)

    in the years I tried dozens of poly pan lessons but i didn't finish A SINGLE ONE, for example here, when we do our first beveling one of the corners is still poking out, like an empty polygon, i'm trying to fix it, it messes up whole model, starting over, same thing, starting couple of times again getting stuck for hours it these first minutes of the video...again...realizing that i literally hate modeling of any type with all my heart

    • @polygonpen
      @polygonpen  Месяц назад

      I know a solution to this, I highly recommend starting slowly and gradually, so instead of jumping into complex modeling tutorials, try to focus on the basics or basic tutorials, otherwise you will just give up and get lost in the complex tutorials and you will start to think that you can't model but it is not true. It is all about learning process.
