This is EXACTLY what i've been scouring the internet for! Everytime i have to disconnect the battery in my mazda 5 the idle is exactly like this and i always have to take it to NTB to have them fix it, and of course they know to do this to mazdas LOL Thank you SO much!
Rob, Thanks so much for the video. Just had the clutch replaced in our '07 Mazda 3 and it ran like a pig afterward, idle all over the place and it wanted to stall nearly every time you came to a stop. Took it back to the mechanic and he was basically clueless (in his defense the car ran ok while he checked it out). Watched your video and had it running perfectly in 30 minutes the next morning. I had asked several people what might be wrong prior to seeing your video, they all had answers for me, all of which were totally wrong. Thanks again, next time I'll go straight to RUclips as there were plenty of videos on the subject, obviously a common problem. Cheers, Scott
Hello, every time I start my Mazda Cx3 the engine has fluctuating idle and with or without the air conditioning activated and after about 20 seconds it works fine, I don't know if this is normal or what could be causing it.
I clean my throttle body by hand and touched the flap by hand too. I didn’t know I had to recalibrate the idle. Now am gonna disconnect the battery and do this procedure to see if it fixes my Acceleration and idle issue
@@mvc2177 where on earth did you find a TB for 70 DOLLARS?!? the cheapest i can find is for about $300 from oreilys auto parts and the oem part from mazda for 600 something dollars
It's 4 bolts and a connector on the front driver's side of the engine. Clean with a stiff brush, maybe brass, and MAF cleaner. Get a new gasket ($4 in my area) and reinstall. Careful with connector if you break it, it's gonna have to be pulled from junkyard.
@@negautrunksI literally just did this and am currently sitting in my car warming it up while recalibrating. My only suggestion to the process is make sure that the throttle cable is adjusted enough to remove the slack, but not start moving the butterfly so that there's no slop between foot movement and throttle change.
Why cant the customer clean his own throttle body? Its really easy on Mazda's. You guys probably charged him 500 dollars for nothing more than childs play with a car.
There are a lot of customers who are too afraid to try it themselves, or just don’t want to spend their time getting their hands dirty and would rather pay someone else to do it. It’s the same with people who hire others to mow their lawn clean 5heir house or paint their home( internally, at least). I hope that explains it for you.

Thanks Rob, thanks for all your repair solutions. Awesome job mate.
Great info Rob to keep in the back of the brain for future repairs 😉😁👍
Repairs and battery replacement too. It gets messy if you have an e-loop system.
Thanks again Rob, good information cheers
Thank you kind Sir. Worked perfectly. I have no doubt you saved me from expensive auto techs diagnosing the problem. Karma Points x12 :)
Thanks much this solved my issue. Nuf respect
This worked. Thanks!

This is the same person & repair video which is in Romano’s Automotive Repairs Channel!
What app are you running on the tablet? Are you hooked on the obd port or Mazda connect telemetry data?
Is this in a mazda service manual somewhere? I have the factory service manual and it doesnt mention an idle relearn anywhere I can find.
Will this work for a 2007 mazda 6 2.3 ?
What year is this for? Does it work the same for a mazda 6? I keep seeing different directions on the internet.
Thanks for the video, what is the name of your scan tool
do you have a video on the removal, cleaning, and reinstallation of the throttle body on the mazda3?

I drive a Mazda 3 2006 2.3 Manuel. Mine still doing the same thing and it stalls out right when I turn it on in the morning why is that?
Thank you
Would this be why my car revs up and down and stills out
Thank you!
for the part where you idle test it and put it in drive, what should i do for that cuz i have a manual so i cant put it in drive
Not much you can do other than test it in neutral I suppose, or just 1st gear with clutch down (simulating you stopped at a red light).
What year is this please? is this the Skyactiv engine?
It's one of the models from 2006 to 2010 , not skyactiv for sure
If you pause the video at 4:00 for example the scan tool is reading this as a 2005 Hatchback, BK variant which was produced up until 2009.
this procedure is wrong, or incomplete.
During the 1min on part you're supposed to relearn the TPS by pressing the gas down from 0 to 100 three times.
My desired is at 550 rpm, car shakes
That's probably a little too low. 700 to 750 would be an entirely reasonable target.

I cleaned mine well my cousin took over but now I’m gonna try this key on stuff
Does this work for the 2007 Mazdaspeed 6?
