I love this guy, as an animal lover who watched Steve Irwin, Donny is my Steve Irwin for survival tips, so easy going, so passionate, so educated, it’s amazing to watch him
Appreciate that greatly. Thanks so very much. I do hunt and love animals, but hunt for food only.
@@DonnyDustsPaleoTracks I understand, there’s nothing animal lovers can do more to show their love and respect for nature than to hunt in my opinion. When you buy something from the grocery store, the 10$ you spent on ground beef will go on to kill more animals than you need, whereas when you hunt, you take only what you need from nature. Nothing more nothing less, all of it can be used if you’re experienced enough. I really respect what you do man and thank you for being a mentor for me and several others
@@literallypigeon4766 appreciate that greatly. I do feel the same way. Commercial farming is not a good option for long term sustainability. Thanks for following the journey. Much respect.
@Forest brothers if this is another part of the channel ok, but if not I think more people will unsub, unless this guy said its ok
@@DonnyDustsPaleoTracks if you get a small farm going and a chicken coop with 5 hens and 3 roosters, would provide eggs and feathers for food and arrows, then you are probably set for life depending on where you live, but also near a stream with fish and with a variety of crops so you dont get sick of just one crop, just what I would do but I'm not an expert, tell me how accurate I am, also somewhat bear the equator so it doesnt get too cold, and also the verry obvious icebox for semi long storage and a tent using wood large leaves and mud, then start making a kiln using mud from termites nest and get claytoo make permanent roof tiles, fire 5 roofing tiles to protect you from rain, and make walls to permanent house with clay and stone, then make a water purifier using stones charcoal gravel sand and a piece of cloth at the bottom so nothing falls out, then boil so its clean, right?
Love the walkthrough step by step and it's showing on your teachings how you want other's to thrive in the wild minus failure. Another great vid as always.👍 Keep up the good work and thanks for the the favor.💪💪💪
Appreciate you watching and following my journey. Appreciate your kind words. I do what I can with what I got. Thanks again.
Do you have a business? Have you ever thought of selling the tools you make?
Thanks for making the vid longer. Watching the technique adds more perspective to my projects.
Awesome. Happy it’s working for you. Appreciate it greatly.
Absolutely love this channel, some of the greatest content I’ve seen. Great work man
Appreciate that greatly. Thanks for watching and following the adventures. Much respect.
Great, educational, relaxing content, as always!! Just stumbled onto your channel recently, and it is a new favorite. As a former survival instructor myself, I LOVE the primitive techniques you use, and the explanations of your lessons are always easy to follow with reasons given for why you do each step the way you do. Absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing your techniques and passion with us. Give the pups a tummy rub for me! Happy holidays, Donny.
Ryan, appreciate you watching and following my adventures. My goal is to keep it simple, entertaining and educational. I appreciate your input and kindness. Much respect and appreciation. Thanks again.
Thank you so very much for sharing the skills you have. And thank you for your service.
Thanks. Appreciate you greatly.

Your 2 yr old don't even know wtf going on
Right when I thought the Dos Equis guy was the most interesting man in the world.. I discovered Donny ha! Man I love your lifestyle brother, the videos you make, and the knowledge you provide!
Thanks Brad. I appreciate it greatly. My aim is to do the things that make me happy. Appreciate you watching and following the journey.
Thanks for sharing.
I will tell ya, Donnie, it's amazing how much you have taught me. I appreciate your videos. Thnx
I gotta ask man, how did you learn all of this. It's pretty damn awesome. I love watching your videos.
Can you show us how to make pemmican? Love the videos man always solid information to be learned.
Thanks. Appreciate you watching.
I hafta try this
Haha. Nice!!!
Cheers!!
Absolutely love your videos, keep up the great work. I was going to say I would love to see a torture test of your knives, just like what you did with the arrowheads. It be really cool to see how strong the knives will stand different abuse.
Who's cooler than this guy? The skills of a man surviving on planet Earth. Knowledge that will never be obsolete. Awesome.
I appreciate you watching. Thanks so very much. 🙏🏻
Brilliant video
Best Survivor 💯
Lovely chert blade!
Gosh I think this is what the internet is for. To share survival knowledge that we can never let die because that comet impact or grid blackout could come any day. This is beautiful and realistic craftsmanship. Thank you so much for doing this and sharing with everyone.
I appreciate you watching and following the journey. Much respect and appreciation. 🤙
That's awesome I'm going to try this
Hell yeah the knife looks great
Absolutely Amazing! Thanks for sharing. Have to ever made a snare for trapping game for your food?
Soon. I will have some up on snared.
Really nice work. Love your channel. Thank you
My pleasure. Thank you.
I really love your videos. I find the idea of living off the land really fascinating, and the ability to make tools and products like this seems very handy. One question though: outside of hunting/meat, what foraging do you do, and if any, what do you look for/avoid?
He’s relaxing seen him on too tok
This guy is cool af
Man I'd love to get something cool like that that you have made. If I had that knife. It'd be my daily carry. If there is anyway of possibly receiving a cool knife like this one. I'm very interested in connecting with you. I know the odds are slim but who knows. Doesn't hurt to ask. That's awesome man
Hey 🥰 love.ur videos💜have you ever knapped anything out of courts or quartzite material 🤔 I'm in the process of trying to get a hold of some Flint but the native Americans around here used a lot of courts and quartzite for their points and I was just wondering if you've ever worked with that type of material, it's very difficult 😅🤣
Ay yo love your content
how's it like doing all that in such cold weather? you're a viking man.
I’m used to it. It’s not so bad really.
I would love a guide to several natural glues would be great information :)
No problem. One coming soon.
@@DonnyDustsPaleoTracks Appreciate it so much thank you!
Are you able to use it to bond say something like “boar tusks” together to make a necklace/pendant? 👀
I just discovered your channel, and I love it! Thank you for providing this content. Can't wait to watch more of your videos and practice some of these skills in the backcountry! Have you created a video on pine pitch glue? I'd be interested.
TJ...thanks for watching and following the journey. I appreciate it greatly. I have a pine pitch video that will be uploaded real soon. Likely within the next couple days. Thanks again!
Great video and very easy to do method but what kind of animals ran through on donny's left
Great videos,i realy enjoy them. How did you learned this knowledges?from books?
Thanks for watching. Books, my own adventures in the wild landscapes and just going outside and doing!
Ist ein schönes Messer geworden. 👍
Colorado? I think I'm literally your neighbor.
Was that 2 wolves running by? 😅
Stone sword
Do.you have a video on how to make the pinepitch glue? We don't have any pines out here and idk about buying the stuff
I do. It’s on the main page for sure.
How well does the pine glue you're using handle the summer time?
Can you make a grappling hook
can we get a chisel and mallet video?
Yeah. No problem.
With the knowledge you have, how do you think neolithic people learned that poo and pitch could be used as glue?
Also how do these materials smell?
Just like most things in life…trial and error. Thanks for watching.
Can you make a stone knife without a knappable rock?
Yes and no…if the rock is not knappable it needs to be a slate or something that can ground to a fine edge. Grinding is the best option. Stone axes are made this way.
@@DonnyDustsPaleoTracks Thank you this is very helpful but I also made a bone knife today
GIGGA BASED CHAD
Is that where "pitch black" comes from?
Is there anything you could do to change the color of your pitch glue or twine wraps that you could make them more artistic or colorful if you were to sell any or give any away as a gift
Sure. I guess you could always dye the materials.
I've been a fan of yours watching your videos for a few months now I love watching your minimalist and survivalist lifestyle your short videos on how you make old school Stone weapons is what reeled me in but I've been thinking of trying to make some things of my own which is why I asked this question I could see you're not too big on Aesthetics more functionality than what it looks like which is fine but if I were going to make something as a gift I'd like to make it look pretty so I was wondering what you would use to dye the pitch are there any natural dyes
@@williampowell9366 no worries. I appreciate your kind words. Dyes…there’s lots of them to be honest. One natural dye I use often is ochre. Ocher is an earth pigment and has several varieties of colors. It’s great for paints, wood stains and fibers for dyeing. There are natural plant based dyes that are options as well. You can get richer colors like blues and purple. Red cabbage…sounds crazy, is the best option for easy blue dyes. Thanks for watching.
How do you find the right stones ?
Research and lots of walking.
Damn you even have two wolf friends?
Desde. Limeira -Sp - Brasil.
What kind of stone do you prefer to use in making blades.
Hard Chert. I say away from obsidians at all costs.
@@DonnyDustsPaleoTracks why do you stay away from obsidians? Thanks
@@joshwalker4506 it’s soft and doesn’t last. It’s sharp, but breaks real easily.
Do you do tours? Like you should charge people money to spend a night out with you in the wilderness. I know I'd play
🌀
Is there a list of suitable stones for blade making based on geographical location in the USA? I'm in the berkshires in west MA
As a fellow pitch man, try using a stick like a soldering iron. Keep one end smoldering and use that heat to get more accurate heating of specific areas. Or even use a spot of pitch on a stick to act as a small candle, for a bit more heat in a larger area.
I've found this helpful to avoid pitch dripping from places that you've already set, as the whole object isn't above the heat source.
Can you recreate Tommy Lee Jones' stone knife from Hunted movie
Stone blades are decent like spears and knives not use full if you want a sword
How do you form the pitch into a ball without burning yourself? And did u flute the blade?
It’s just about getting it to a cool point. I have a video coming out on pitch soon. I don’t flute it, but rather just run some long flakes at the hafting point.
Well I seen your shorts vids and it caught my interest I to do like to make many different native tools and weapons and a book I have called Indian crafts and lores witch is a awesome book witch shower you much on how to make native tools and weapons ...Don do you have this book by chance ? If not you should really get it for it showes another on how to use everything from a animal Hyde and best way to do so and how to make many hunting and common use instruments (tools) as well as native music instruments like the flute and rattles ..but I just wanted to ask ya that and also to tell you that you remind me of a native Sundance. Cheif ..and rakey healer at highest degree.that named me my native naming and I have much Lakota in me..I have a few gifts made for me from my naming.like a bear paw pouch and a necklace made of the bones from in the paw as well as small scale weapons that show how they are made and would only have to be made bigger to be used ..but enough of that but you are a very knowledgeable person and keep up the great content ...I'd love to see ya make a native flute..as well as the earth drum and stuff like that as well ..godbless and stay safe
Does the glue you use melt in high temperature environments? If so how do you deal with this?
It can in warmer places. Protect it, keep it out of direct sun.
do you tattoo yourself?
Sometimes I do.
Doggo
4:30 lol
dogs are cute
Its the tiktok guy!
Haha. It’s me…Thanks for watching.
Hello, sir. can you show me chopping meat with your stone knife? thank you
