Both Mayfield and Goff had more success in their first stops than any of the cast offs from the 2021 Draft. Mac Jones came the closest his rookie year, but Goff had multiple 4000 yard seasons in LA with a Super Bowl appearance while Mayfield had pair of 3800 yard seasons with a playoff win.

The New York Jets are a dumpster fire historically for young QB's. Zach never had an O-line to protect him. Hopefully, Rodgers gets better protection and doesn't blow out his other achilles.
I'm optimistic. He's got an arm and I think he has a higher ceiling than what we saw in New York. Will he be a long-term starter? Who knows, but I think we're going to get a better version of Zach Wilson at a minimum.
I am neither a Jets nor Broncos fan so I really don't care how this turns out but here's my take - I hope it works out for Wilson and he has a Baker Mayfield type season for the Broncos but I really don't think he is an NFL starting quarterback. Maybe a sturdy backup for mop up duty or the odd start here and there but not a guy you want to be your every week starter.
The Payton enshrinement of Eisen is inappropriate. Payton abused Russ as a scapegoat, damaged his reputation, blackmailed him with benching to alter his contract and yelled at him in primetime in front of millions to provoke a reaction and to justify actions against him. He also lost games on purpose and dropped several notes to damage Russ like "kissing babies", "wristband" , "simplify for Russ" ... Payton is a egomaniac who wants to be the star by himself with his alleged "genius offense scheme" and refused to tailor the offense to Russ special skill set. The PaytonBroncos are a complete disaster and will need years to recover from his reckless decisions.
I don’t know if Zach Wilson will ever make it in the NFL, but the Jets have done nothing to help him. The O-line is why the Jets can’t win. They gave up 64 sacks last year. They haven’t had a healthy offensive line for a full/half season, yet The fans blame Wilson and everyone else. The Jets don’t know how to run the ball. The games Zach struggled the run game never went anywhere. There were many games the last 3 years the Jets couldn’t even run 50 yards for the game. So blame the former offensive coordinator who was fired, blame Zach Wilson today, Nathaniel Hackett and Salah next year. Until you fix your O-line and establish a consistent run game you aren’t going anywhere.
Imagine a former Hall of Fame candidate starting his journey of journeyman QB. I know Rich is all peach and roses with Jets players but what makes him think that the QB Whisperer won't throw another Wilson under the bus after his rookie contract runs out? It's better to try and fail rather than not trying at all. Poor Zach Wilson. Does Dolphins have another game against the Broncos so they can put up another 70 point game? Only this time they won't score more than 10 points.
If Bronco’s take Bowers at 12 after passed up by Jets at 10 and Payton can develop Wilson, it will be classic same old Jets. Same Zach haters are anti Bowers
I’m happy for Zack. Kid comes from a privileged family. Had a lot of growing up to do. I’ve seen some true skill from the kid. I wish him well. Shame he gets so much hate.
I feel like the difference between the 2021 QBs and Mayfield/Goff is that the Browns and the Rams only moved off baker and Jared because they could immediately upgrade at the position, or at least they thought they could (Watson and Stafford). With the 2021 QBs, their teams aren’t really upgrading, they’re just flat out giving up and starting over without them lol
Good Luck Zack! 👍...Plunkett had it worse and laughing stock/played with a murderer in SF, Bradshaw sucked and was in Noll's doghouse until Al Davis opened his mouth and Warner was stocking shelves after 8 man football and Landry crucified Staubach
Honestly, I am just happy for Zach he gets to move back closer to a place he knows. A kid coming from Utah and being the starting QB for the New York Jets was not it.
I still find it ridiculous that people blame him for the jets situation, I watched nearly every jets game and that jets team was one of the worst managed teams i’ve ever seen. O-lines were horrific, plus they were alway injured, terrible offensive coordinators, and a defensive minded head coach that shouldn’t be a head coach on any team honestly. Wilson is a stud, rodger’s is gonna get hurt within 3 games again because he won’t have any blocking and he can’t scramble like Zack could. Dude has legs that he couldn’t use with that offense, has a cannon that he couldn’t use with that offense, and he’s not in sports biggest spotlight in new york. I see him killing it this season
Sean Payton said Nathaniel Hackett did the worst coaching job ever then took essentially the same team and won twice as many games. Now Payton is upping the ante and taking the QB (Zach Wilson) that Hackett could not get to produce. Is it just me or does anyone else think Payton is doing an all out assault to discredit Hackett? Haha.
If you doubt his skills look at the last minute of the Giants game with his third Center that has never took a snap at center before no timeouts got across the field in 70 yards within less than 24 seconds
Zach Wilson doesn't need to be the franchise QB that rushes in to save the day. He needs to be a competent backup and it's a financial win for the Broncos who can then move on from Stidham
He said that this might make it where they don't feel the need to draft a quarterback. that would be such a Broncos move to not draft a quarterback and instead stick with Zach Wilson
Hahaha What a classic jets move. Draft a qb top 5 and 3 years later trade him away. Hearing Rich trying to justify the move is just icing on the cake. XD
This was a natural. There's no reason to think he can succeed based on his performance with the Jets, but Denver has limited draft assets and it's worth a shot. Oh, BTW has Sean Payton ever developed a young QB?
He's almost in the same age bracket as Nix, Penix, and Daniels who are all being drafted this year. Denver should run him and the other QB's this year instead of wasting draft capital to move.
Won’t matter who the Jet’s QB will be… if the Jets don’t commit to be dominating on the offensive side of the LOS, creating a 1000 yard rusher, that poor unfortunate QB will always be running for his ever-loving life.
@@AdamB34 The Jets haven't had a dominating O line since Curtis Martin. Nor have they had a ground game that created concern for defenses. Hall runs for 994 last year, so what? "It wasn't the right choice. The Jets never got him the help he needed." Poor Zach. He was set up to fail in NYC. He can still salvage his career and reputation by becoming a Baker Mayfield 2.0. If he does succeed in Denver, we can all say the Jets didn't know how to help young QBs.
Why is there this sensation that the latest Wilson experiment is gonna go way better than the last Wilson experiment? No one saw what the "QB whisperer" did with the last QB he was whispering to? If Russ wasn't talented enough to make it in Denver I don't see why Zach would fare any better.

Good Luck Zack! 👍...Plunkett had it worse and laughing stock/played with a murderer in SF, Bradshaw sucked and was in Noll's doghouse until Al Davis opened his mouth and Warner was stocking shelves after 8 man football and Landry crucified Staubach
The New York Jets are a dumpster fire historically for young QB's. Zach never had an O-line to protect him. Hopefully, Rodgers gets better protection and doesn't blow out his other achilles.
Zack Wilson and his head coach Butch Patrick(Eddie Munster). Winning combo no doubt
Eddie Munster!!! 😂😂😂😂
Rich I'm a browns fan I love how stick with your boys the jets
I love how baker is killing it
The Jets will trade up in the 1st round and select Rodgers future replacement and that will piss him off all the way to training camp. Im loving this
I'm optimistic.
My thing is if the jets drafted Trey lance and we got Zach Wilson I think he’d be a pro bowl qb
Super excited for Zach. I always felt he has more potential than he’s seen so far. He just needed the supporting cast.
Broncos have no supporting cast. Broncos roster is worse then the Jets right now
@@K1ngNazSports I agree with you there. I think Sean Peyton is a way better developmental coach than Salah & that the supporting cast will come.
He'll have Davis Webb there to help him out there & that's a bigger deal than you might think it is. He was part of why DJ had a great 2022.
If he had a chance this is it its this or maybe 2nd qb
I feel like the difference between the 2021 QBs and Mayfield/Goff is that the Browns and the Rams only moved off baker and Jared because they could immediately upgrade at the position, or at least they thought they could (Watson and Stafford). With the 2021 QBs, their teams aren’t really upgrading, they’re just flat out giving up and starting over without them lol
Zack is not done...Fresh start YOUNB Man....Be Well😊
Good Luck Zack! 👍...Plunkett had it worse and laughing stock/played with a murderer in SF, Bradshaw sucked and was in Noll's doghouse until Al Davis opened his mouth and Warner was stocking shelves after 8 man football and Landry crucified Staubach
Nah, he's done. He doesn't have what it takes to succeed.
@@jproog41 Bah! Hello Jim Plunkett!
It don’t matter what the Cursed Jets do at QB, until they get an off line in place.
Honestly, I am just happy for Zach he gets to move back closer to a place he knows. A kid coming from Utah and being the starting QB for the New York Jets was not it.
Good coaching, , no pressure, low expectations. The perfect storm. Gonna be interesting to follow this story
Rich always the optimist 😂😂😂😂
Haha.
I totally agree … move back. Also I dig the new uni’s 🔥
It would be pretty hilarious if Wilson pulls a Geno and goes out West and resurrects his career.
If you doubt his skills look at the last minute of the Giants game with his third Center that has never took a snap at center before no timeouts got across the field in 70 yards within less than 24 seconds
without a doubt, the new york jests are absolute rookie QB destroyers. if you're a QB getting drafted by them, DON'T do it 😂
Zach Wilson doesn't need to be the franchise QB that rushes in to save the day. He needs to be a competent backup and it's a financial win for the Broncos who can then move on from Stidham
Good move for Wilson
Zack played a few very good games with Jets.
Bo Nix is 24
The Jets were int the games?
He said that this might make it where they don't feel the need to draft a quarterback. that would be such a Broncos move to not draft a quarterback and instead stick with Zach Wilson
Damn it would be funny if Zach Wilson took number 3 for his jersey
It's the tale of the "Yin and Yang" Mile High quarterbacks!☯
As a lifelong Broncos fan; I don't care which qb gets it done. Just somebody please get it done!!!
The only thing Zach Wilson will accomplish in Denver is to make Broncos fans wish Russel Wilson had never left.
Denver is a franchise in Disarray.....so said to see a once proud franchise turn into this.....
Zach will start against the Jets this year and beat them. Book it.
Hahaha What a classic jets move. Draft a qb top 5 and 3 years later trade him away. Hearing Rich trying to justify the move is just icing on the cake. XD
The Jets had the second worst O-line in football last season. The Giants has the worst. o
Run that Aaron Rodgers 2023 highlight reel when you get a chance, it's short.
😅
This was a natural. There's no reason to think he can succeed based on his performance with the Jets, but Denver has limited draft assets and it's worth a shot. Oh, BTW has Sean Payton ever developed a young QB?
He's almost in the same age bracket as Nix, Penix, and Daniels who are all being drafted this year. Denver should run him and the other QB's this year instead of wasting draft capital to move.
I thought he was a generational QB? I thought I heard that during the draft a few years ago.
You are thinking of Malik Willis, Trey Lance, and Bryce Young. ESPN absolutely GLAZED these guys for months pre-draft
Don't worry the jets are gonna "jets it up" , it's what they do.... Consistent failures.
As someone who actually follows the draft very closely every year, this was not said about him.
He is generationally a bad QB😂
Nobody credible said that
Rich just sounds so happy they got rid of him, the sad part is Jets will always disappoint him.
Won’t matter who the Jet’s QB will be… if the Jets don’t commit to be dominating on the offensive side of the LOS, creating a 1000 yard rusher, that poor unfortunate QB will always be running for his ever-loving life.
Breece Hall had 994 rush yards and 1,585 total yards last year. I don't think an extra 6 yards rushing would mean much
@@AdamB34 The Jets haven't had a dominating O line since Curtis Martin. Nor have they had a ground game that created concern for defenses. Hall runs for 994 last year, so what? There has been no consistency. Who ran for that amount, or more, in the two-three previous seasons? Who's going to run 994 or more in 2024? Jets ownership hasn't committed to fielding a winning program in a LONG time.
@@lancepierson2845 you literally said they need a 1,000 yard rusher now you're saying "994 yards, who cares?"... well you care obviously since you brought it up. Fyi, Breece Hall is a beast. He's one of the better backs in the league. Only Christian McCaffrey had more total yards for running backs than Hall. You are very confused
No Rich he can’t and you know this
Robert Saleh is a good DC, but a trash Head Coach. Sean Payton used to be a decent HC, but is beyond washed. Seems like Wilson went from one bad HC to another bad HC. I feel for the kid
Bronco fan since 1972, ROTFLMAO at this commentary. Payton couldn't fix Russell, can't fix Zach.
It’s absolutely hilarious to me that ppl really think Peyton will fix Zach Wilson. Dude couldn’t even get Russ to play well and he’s won sbs and been in the league for a long time.
Good for him. Dont worry Broncs fans they probably got a great deal and he'll do well with the proper coaching. Just keep it simple.
Oh I'm worried. The team will be unwatchable if he plays. We don't have Breece Hall or a Garrett Wilson.
@@jproog41 if they establish a run game and Wilson reads his checkdown receivers they should be ok. Of course you do need a defense though.
Loook at his number when he trash o line actually protects !!!
He now has a OL and real offensive minded coach! I guarantee he balls out!!
