Now why more rural departments don't have tankers like this is beyond me. You see in some video's 4 or 5 fire departments send their tankers to supply as much water as this one tanker does.
I was stuck on the Parkway during this at exit 89 for almost two hours before they turned us all around. It was definitely a good show, sorry if that sounds callous, I am quite appreciative to all the first responders and fire fighters who helped get this under control.

Thank you It took me a while to get to an area to film they had the area completely locked down, we do not get many large fires like this in this area so I was happy I was able to film what I did
@@gilfernandez7857 if you don't see men working this fire then you're not watching the video. Perhaps asking questions about fire attack on a active fire environment like this would be a better approach?
This happened in Salem County as well. Massive brush fire that extended to a large structure, Out of County Tanker Task Force deployed, NJFFS as well. Even had multiple brush fires through out the day as well in other areas.
This was by far one of the things I feared the most. I literally was thinking Friday as I was getting on to the parkway about the fire that happened years ago by I think Barnegat. I found it absolutely crazy that OCSO putout a fire warning 3 hours before this happened. Thankfully we have great FD around here. This seriously could have destroyed a good portion of my town.
Filming close to my part of the state for a change, I am about 30 miles south. This is something that is a major threat living in the Pine Barrens. We had a fire about 14 years ago that burned 18,000 acres caused by a military plane shooting a practice flare, that was a scary time. The ash in some parts was so thick snow plows came to clear the streets, burning embers were found a couple miles away. Great coverage, keep up tgeamazing work.
I remember that one. Quite a nasty fire, I was using a surgical mask when I had to be outside. That's why they've upped the amount of controlled burn around the base.
Being that this fire is in New Jersey the IC has the ability to call massive resources from other departments thru out New Jersey and continue to call with the worry of running out who to call.
great work on this video ..I've lived in s jersey since 76 been through many fires.. seen controlled burning done on windy days ..they were doing a controlled burn in my area ., exit 58 around this time...wonder if that's what started this fire

This was pushing up near our development the Original Leisure Village off Airport Rd and Rt 70. The smoke was very thick and we received calls from management warning us..
Hi there, my name is Jen Marin, I'm a reporter at a small station working on a feature piece on a family who was affected by this fire but I don't have video of the fire itself, this is amazing work, would i be able to use it in my story with your watermark and credit? please let me know either way -- thank you!
I would say by the end of your video that was no longer a brush fire. Full on forest fire at that point. They are going to be fighting at a minimum thru the night.
I am SO confused. They've got tanker hooked up to engines in the parking lot of Lowes....are fire hydrants really just not a thing in Jersey? Like, my local Lowes and Home Depot have hydrants near both main entrances, if I'm not mistaken. Why the tanker to the scene truck? lol
4:12 First time I have seen a garden shed running for the fire 😂, but nothing to joke about else, looks like all greenery is very volatile and embers starting fires all over. How can it be so exceptional dry in this time of the year in NJ, I would expect everything being soaking wet this time of the year.
Awesome video of my old stomping grounds, sorry to see that happening.how long was it burning?what agencies used the plane and helicopter?what make&model was LFD ladder tower?
part two, man there sure is a ton of vehicles there, hope their wasn't a fire in the towns they left for this one. they got every fire truck and other trucks in the whole city at this one.
At near the 15:50 mark That is a pocket burning out (surrounded by black) u can see... so u lil red brush trucks don't put it out 😉 instead let it burn itself out it aint going anywhere.
Did they ever get that fire put out? It sure looked like a lack of coordination with many vehicles seemingly just driving around aimlessly. What few air drops that were shown, looked pretty ineffective.
Quite the opposite actually, trucks were responding to staging and from staging were dispatched to multiple calls throughout two towns so definitely not aimless. The fire was 100% contained in less than 24 hours.
Oh my goodness that fire is big with a fire that size they probably will have to evacuate the area I'm assuming the fire started because someone must have Set It Off that's what I think or something else
South Jersey is home to the pine barrens, central and southern NJ have lots of parks and forests. Really only the northern and eastern parts of NJ are major cities.
I dont get why they leave all the emergency lights on when they are in a parking lot and not in anyones way. Seems like more wear and tear on apparatus. At night yes or on public roads that makes sense.
"How much water do you ha......"
Peterbilt Tanker: "YES!"

So that's why I saw a brush truck, on route 22 in green brook screaming by.
Hillsborough had a large mulch/brush fire going at the same time, so probably they were going to that.
Those SEAT’s are pretty effective and pretty maneuverable. Too bad you don’t have Skycranes, those can pump water from any water source.

If they dont have city water then their isnt hydrants, much of New Jersey is well water
