In this message from Daniel 11, Alistair Begg explains that the evil that is ultimately embodied in the antichrist is foreshadowed by the rebellion of people throughout history who set themselves in opposition to God’s rule and reign. In all of this, however, God is unchanging. He will overcome everyone who opposes Him and fulfill all of the promises that He has made to His people in Christ the King.
I fully unerstand that Alistair Begg would say 'give all the glory to Jesus Christ' (which I do), but it still remains to be said, that this man is a superlative, superlative preacher. He has been truly blessed with the gifts of communication and clarity and exposition, and he always makes Jesus present to me when I need to return to Him. Even if one were the staunchest atheist, one would nevertheless have to concur that this man has a wonderful gift that very few others have. And so I praise Jesus Christ for bringing me Alistair Begg, so that I may, in turn, more fully and confidently give all the praise to the Lord Jesus Christ. Does that make sense?! Love to everyone. Praise and glory to Jesus.

I need some advice and help. I am coming out of a Pentecostal church but I cannot convince my wife to do the same; so I am sitting at home on Sunday’s now as I don’t have my wife at my side and, I cannot find a church to attend that is biblically correct. I thank God for these sermons which I have been trolling through and enjoying Pastor Begg’s teaching. What a blessing this man is and what a memory (it actually puts me to shame) here I am at 71 and unable to quote any book or verse to you except of course John 3:16 and a couple others. If you read this would you please pray for me and especially my wife that her eyes and understanding are opened. May God bless you all. Chris, Perth Western Australia.

How did the reformers get it so wrong when they said 'the king' was a succession of papal rulers when the text clearly refers to just one person??

The reformers were experiencing persecution from Rome, so it isn't surprising that they would see the papacy as the anti-Christ. But we shouldn't let our personal situations dictate how we interpret Scripture and I think that was their mistake. It's a mistake that has been repeated since when people pointed to the USSR prior to the fall of the Berlin wall, seeing communism as the anti-Christ producing entity.
What is sad is that their views about Rome continue to influence believers to this day, giving a very West-centric interpretation of prophecy. Many will be taken by surprise because they are looking in the wrong direction. It's very possible that the real threat will be the Islamic Caliphate which was only abolished in 1923 by Ata Turk and which many jihadists are working to revive. Of course, I could be doing exactly what the reformers and others did, reading current threats into the Scripture.

The scriptures only refer to 2 comings of Christ. The first as a baby born of a virgin, the other is as mentioned many many times, the 2nd coming of Christ.
Please study and meditate upon Christ's words in Matthew 24...your answer is there...it is vital that we remain a prepared people not thinking that we will escape everything...in verse 21 Jesus tells us there will be great tribulation which "for the sake of the saints" He will cut short followed then by His wrath and appearance...do not let people lie to you..tribulation is NOT wrath...2 different words wrath is "orge" punishment which saints are not appointed to
Tribulation is "thlipsis" suffering which we are promised
