It’s possible ETH’s future will be as a store of value as a secure base layer. Rather than trying to become faster, and be all encompassing. Overtime the layers 2/3 may be seamless to the user, with better UX and ETH being at the core. Maybe ETH is being misunderstood for where it will eventually sit in the cryptosphere, like when everyone complained BTC could never be a currency and now ultimately sits comfortably with everyone as a store of value. Just a thought 🤷♂️

I think when we are talking about L2s and even more for L3s ETH decentralisation and security should not be mentioned. L2s and L3s do not inherit those features.

I think layer 3's still need more time to mature. Right now, they may have some unique function on the ETH blockchain but they need more time to mature.

As you mentioned Layer 3 has more challenges I think 30% chance to capture a healthy chunk of the market. Because it is ultimately built on Layer 2 it is very complicated and confusing.
Great vid Guy. $DEGEN is also acting as a proxy for tokenless Base and farcaster. I take it this video was made before Sol became unusable recently. Makes l2 much more appealing trying 12 transactions to get one to work on SOL
I was bullish on ETH. But this kind of B-sh%t make me less and less bullish. The flippening isn't going to be ETH flipping BTC but another chain flipping ETH.
I'll be waiting for Layer 10 before i put money to any ETH projects!

Either i am stupid or nothing can scale right now in crypto and they are trying to keep some projects over water with all those useless layers. Crypto is looking more and more complex and centralized with all these. No retail ever is going to use technology like this. We need something scalable, decentralized and SIMPLE

To be honest, all alts has reached top in this “bull run”, unless ETH ETF pass. Otherwise BTC is the only one that gets price surge. Reason being:
1/ institution only interested in btw
2/ btc buyers are holders
3/ no retail market cap injection
Just buy some ADA. Cardano has infinite scaling possibilities, its decentralized with governance features (aiming to be DAO) and you can program smart contracts in basically any language. Btw. partner chains like WMT are not L2s.

Consider we are leaving a financial system because it’s crashing. Why would we re-create middle men in our new system? In fact why would we want an inflationary model built into any token that represents money.. it’s proven to devalue it.. maybe we need to look at our old system, learn why it’s insolvent and not recreate it in our new system.. middle men at against the entire idea of blockchain if you look deeply enough.
