These videos I've watched probably 5 times a piece. Each time learning just a little bit more. I love the series and look forward to every new upload .
I don't care what anyone says, there's a lot of good knowledge in Mr. Garner's head. 45 years is a lot of trial and error. This man knows what works and what doesn't! Tom has the absolute best facility in the world hands down!
This knowledge needs to be spread to the other breeds not just the apbt Nwa cane corso podcast would be a great platform to share knowledge with the corso community and general dog folks interested in bettering there breed and individual dog
Please don't slow the pace of conversation for the sake of the short bus. This is a wonderful contrast to what's available content-wise online. If you're going too fast, the truly wanting will do their homework and catch up, thereby creating true growth in both themselves and the community at large. Please keep these videos coming with the primary focus staying on teaching and elevating the health and care of the animals. Much appreciated, and thank you all involved with the making and sharing of these videos.
Tom Garner has been around for decades & has produced some of the worlds best dogs from generation to generation, & his bloodline is still running strong in this day & era. IMO Garner‘s bloodline & Pat Patrick bloodline are the only lines that’s still winning & going hard over all the bloodlines that was going strong in the 70’s 80’s 90’s & 2000’s & most if not all the dogs today you’ll see Garners blood or Patrick blood somewhere in their pedigree. Those 2 men created greatness.
@@billysanders6758 but it’s crossed up most of the dogs that’s winning at a high rate is the Mayday blood & Garner blood & u can still find Mayday/Macho Buck/Awesomebuck, 357 blood up close in dog’s pedigrees in 1st-4th generations & Garner blood is the same way up close a lot of that other blood be way in the back or if it is up close it’s crossed up with the Mayday blood up top or on the bottom side of dogs. Chico Lopez is keeping that Patrick bloodline alive & so is Mal & Kant kennels, & Pitstop kennels doing their thing still as well. It isn’t too many kennels keep the blood pure. My man Rock @NBK which is Natural Born Kennels keeping that Patrick bloodline strong also
This a man is a legend regardless what they say he gives on point info alot dogmen wouldn't share he has a true compassion for these hounds ,give him his flowers now while he's alive true
Tom is definitely made his impact and sealed his Legacy with the Greatest breed on earth! The Breed Damn sure benefits from all his accomplishments and many people also!
Three part question: Over the years as Tom has developed and refined his family; in his opinion, what ways has the family improved over the years? And have you found a favorite percentage for each cross to get an all-around dog? If we were 19yo again and just starting out, what line would you start with in 2023?
The negative feedback is from extra jealous idiots that don't know that a legend is talking and they wish they could become 1% successful like this gentleman has been I bought a dog from Mr Garner 5 years ago from a Chinaman breed she looks exactly like Chinaman she's a beautiful dog that protects my home and my family and she's a hell of a squirrel catcher
good info. would have been useful to hear your opinion on genetic diseases(ataxia, hip/elbow/patella dysplasia, allergies, congenital heart disease) in the breed and how you deal with them or have dealt with. i think it would help many. maybe in a different vid :D keep em comin
I love that Mr Garner have a lot of good on our breed I will love to get a dog from him soon please hold a raffle oh by the way my last name is Garner too
Great interview, and great information. What’s the dosage of the Praziquantel. It wasn’t mentioned. I use it as well, but I may’ve been getting the dosage incorrect on my end. I Also use Synanthic Suspension 22.5% Bovine Dewormer. I’m asking are the dosages the same.
Appreciate the information!!! Do you also premix the ivermectin and dmso as you do the other wormers with rf1??? If so what amount of ivermectin do you mix with what amount of dmso??? Thanks again and looking forward to hearing your input!!!
Two other good questions would be: You've never been shy about adding some seasoning along the way (Which is why I've always laughed about the paperhanging rumors.). But of all formulas tried over the years, what are some lines you didn't try, and why? It's been said that you picked up the torch from Kimsey Woods just like he did from Carver...imitation being the biggest form of flattery, is there a program that's a continuation of your work that you're most proud of; or any you wish hadn't been started at all?
In your opinion Mr.Garner how are the bloodlines looking at the moment and what blood is standing alone and still producing properly and where do you see the apbt heading blood line wise
What do you guys think of raw feed, I feed, turkey necks, beef liver, beef kidney, chicken feet and drumsticks , bullet tuna fish, mushed pumpkin, brocolli, yougourt and coconut oil, all this meats and boned are frozen for two weeks and thawed out before preparing meals for three weeks?
Where can or is it possible to purchase fenbendozole and praziquentel by itself I see your say you buy a kilo could you give me the source if you don't mind
Wanted to know mr garners thoughts on his Hickson line, and where he feels it ranks amongst the many lines he's dealt with, and how he feels it is best utilized within a program
Can we get some insight on feed, nutrition and conditioning? Is there a reason Mr Garner feeds kibble ValuPak and not raw? Is it about cost? Just asking thank you 👍👍🤝👏👏👏👏
I would too. But I think the setup he has is what he would tell you is the best for him. A lot depends on vicinity and ordinances. The rest probably depends on hygiene ,time and money.
tom mentioned vaccine schedules. a lot of the science i've read recently and a lot of vets are determining that most of our animals are over vaxed or vaccinated too frequently, including and even especially for rabies. (most of the comercially available rabies vaccines come with a battery of additional compounds, lepto for example.) i wonder how tom feels about spacing vaccines beyond the "accepted" frequency. so rabies every 5 years as opposed to every 3, for example.
Good question. The holistic vets I watch also talk about the over vaccination of dogs and that they might be causing a lot of the allergies and autoimmune problems seen in dogs today.
It is typically managed/treated by your monthly wormer. It has a 72 hour life cycle, so you could worm (metronidazole+fenbendazole+ amoxicillin) Monday Wednesday Friday in the first week of January and then just on the first Monday of every month moving forward.
A Christmas gift getting a new video!! I was surprised to hear feeds Value-Pak, I was always under the impression it was low quality feed. Also the "every 18 days" vaccination until 5 months really thru me off. Maybe I misunderstood what he was saying but that seems very excessive
Each booster guarantees 18 days of bulletproof protection. I only vaccinate litters at my house at 6 weeks, 18 days later and then once a month till 4 months. That is only 4 vaccines. My litters will have a couple of weeks in there that they are vulnerable to disease, but I can take that chance because they are isolated from other animals. Most people could follow a 3 or 4 vaccination schedule through the first 4 months, but if we have 12 litter and 135 puppies on the yard and parvo gets loose we have a catastrophic problem. Currently our only choice is to be on a bulletproof system until scientists can come up with vaccines that do a better job.
Awesome video. I like the fact that Tom is very knowledgeable about parasites. And betting yet how to treat parasites. So with his regiment of and or preventing parasites show without a doubt that Tom does not run a puppy mill. And i would also would like to add with Toms knowledge will make stupid people look like a cave crickets. And that's to the ignorant people that hate the breed and want the exterminated. Thank for the decades of hard work.
Ivermax - injectable 3-5 drips from a syringe for puppies with thier worming and vaccines Durvet - transdermal/through the skin between the shoulder blades 3 ml for grown dogs
Why would people want this man to stop talking and sharing his knowledge??? Do you know how much this kind of info would cost from a high quality vet???

You want to dive right into controversy and that will have someone curse you out and end your interview. Now you're out of money and an interview calm down dude.

When I was there he said he fed them kibble valu pak and raw chicken. But keep in mind hes feeding a lot of dogs and just raw would get very costly.
