  • Hey guys here’s a rare postwar set from Lionel from 1947 Set Outfit 2126ws this Set comes with a 671 s2 Turbine 6-8-6 Steam Engine a 671W whistling coal Tender and three number 2625 Irvington heavyweight Madison passenger cars this is a estate find set is fully serviced and everything run and works as it should so just made a short video to show it running on our layout

    I had the "electronic-set" with (I think) the 671 (could have been the 681) Turbine which allowed REMOTE uncoupling of the cars ! ... the "DCS" of the day with Lionel. The smell of those smoke pills / and the "ring" of the pumper bell STILL loom in my mind as a kid !. BEAUTIFUL SET !

      TommyZTrains your had the 671 then there was another number just before the 671 on those sets those were only made for two years 1947 and 1948 came in two sets Outfit 4109w and then the last year was 4110w very rare set to find in good condition

      "Yep" ... the push-button transformer ... the word "electronic" (a lightning bolt effect type of script), was cool for that time. Did you know that those "electro-couplers" can be opened by "hand" ? (IOW: NO Electrical currants needed ta open).

      TommyZTrains no I did not know that iv been dealing with Prewar and Postwar Trains’s for over 10 years now and that set is one of a few that I have not yet come into from a estate yet
