I was a student 40 years ago and lived in Battetsea Court for all 3 years. Had a wonderful time at Surrey. Thank you for posting your video as it brought back lots of great memories.
thank u, this is actually the most helpful surrey room tour I've found! (most of them are either scripted by the uni or just rich girls showing off the decorations their mum bought lmaooo) I just got my place in surrey confirmed and have been offered a room in cathedral court :-0 Do you know what the numbers in the room info mean? I'm on floor A, idk if that means it's the top floor or ground floor though lol (also nice taste in music 👌)
omg thank you so much!! haha I know what you mean 💀 they tried their best, bless them. from what I can remember floor A is the ground floor, B is the second and so on but I'm not 100% sure. it's definitely in a good location though! close to the library and lecture halls! also congratulations for getting a place 🥳 if you need any thing else or have any more questions, feel free to ask :)
Ah just answering as a Surrey grad, but you don’t get to choose the different courts you’re assigned. Unless you have specific requests/have a special excuse, it’ll be randomly alloted
Thank you so much for the video! I do have a question tho. Is it true that you cannot take any guests to the accommodations? Like, from outside the uni? (to spend the day, nothing else).
yes! anybody can visit you in your accomodation for the day - that's completely fine. they only have a problem with if they stay over which isn't allowed. the only way they'll catch you tho is if there's a fire alarm or something and they check the rooms. other than that they won't know. but yeah, just for the day is allowed! hope this helps :)
Its a very good video I have a question that do all the band c have a wash basin in their room or it is in your place alone and do we have a key to our room
thank you! from what i can remember not all of the band C rooms have a wash basin. Therefore the weekly price of the room will vary by about £5-10 depending on if it has or not. And yes you have a key card (which doubles as your ID card to get into the building) and a key to get into your room. hope this helps :)
@@backbenchersbenchers.studi7988 Unfortunately not. You have the option to select the bands you want in order of preference but you're not able to specify which court within that band. However, there is a section where you can add a comment/request during this process. So, what I did was a little bit cheeky but I mentioned that on the open day, the only accommodation I saw was Battersea Court and that I have a lot of anxiety about being put anywhere else and what do you know... I ended up getting Battersea Court! so take from that what you will :)

Hey, I am coming to university of surrey in SEP21 FOR my master's. And want to know how are the accomodation, are they too far from the university study area where classes are taken.?
hey bestie, that depends on which accomodation you stay in. if you pick accomodation on Stag Hill you'll be no more that a 5 minute walk to from lecture halls and study areas and that's the on campus accommodation. Accomodation in Manor Park is about a 10/20 minute walk to the main campus. Hazel Farm is the furthest so people get a bus to campus. Also, I think the accom is quite dated. Personally, i wouldn't want to be so far away at Hazel Farm. I hope this helps :)
Great video! Thank you so much. A question though, did they provide you with you the drying rack and the hangers in the wardrobe? I'm going to be staying in battersea pickard too this September :)
ah thank youuu ☺️ to answer your question, they provide you with only a few hangers (maybe like 3-5) but no drying rack unfortunately. I got my drying rack from IKEA, as did lots my my friends, and because I ended up needing more hangers for my clothes I got a pack of 10 from the primark in town so it wasn't a problem :) congratulations on your place btw 🥳🎉
aww of course!! haha tell your mum I said thank you! I'm glad she enjoyed it too ☺️ btw if there's anything else I can help with closer to term starting just let me know :)
I just used blu tack :) but make sure if you're gonna do that to use a small bit!! when I was moving out some of the wall paint came off because I used too much so I used the blu tack to stick it back to the wall... ✨DIY✨
@@rachael5923 ouch! at least you know now :) also, if you're living in a house for 2nd year and mess up the walls, another little tip is to take a piece of the wall to Wickes or somewhere and get them to colour match it and give you a free sample.. then just paint over the marks :)

I studied there 22 years ago .... they have changed the desks and the shelves :-)
Great video!
This inspired me to make a university and Guildford town tour video. It's virtual running but it gets you from place to place.
I've seen some horrible videos of these shared kitchens being a mess, I hope if I ever had to share one it will be as clean as this one
Hi, are all band C accomodation near to the university ?
And do they all look similar to your room.
Hey, do we get to choose among the different Band C courts? Or the uni allots the courts on random basis?

There is my question. Among band C rooms, which one is the best? Far away from crowded area...... Far from night clubs?
You’re really entertaining lmao

I wouldn't be able to say, sorry. Nobody I knew was in band A so I never saw band A rooms first hand.
