Pellicci.. My favourite confort food and breakfast place whenever i'm in London. My first time at Pellicci was in 1968, a 17 year old in london waiting to join my second ship (Merchant Navy) and loved it ever since.. Good old Nevio still the same greeting patrons with his very own smile and carachter.. The Cannelloni.. Reminds me of Mamma maria Bless her soul.. Thks for bringing me memories Darren as i haven' t been to london for some time now
Thank you so much. It brought back precious memories of lunchtimes when I was a kid at school in Bethnal Green. I couldn't afford much but what I had was always delicious.

You didn’t need words, looked absolutely wonderful food and could tell by your face. Italian food is my favourite and again you could tell it was made with love by Pellicci’s . Legend is a fantastic film by the way.

Loved this video mate and your food looked out of this world. Its interesting you came here as i follow a couple pf other food reviewers as well as yourself. One of them being a fellow Londoner like you called Gary Eats. Not sure if you've heard of him or not but he goes to this Pellici's and it's actually his favourite cafe/restaurant out of all that he's been too. He loves their Spaghetti Bolognese and has said exactly the same as you about the quality of food and how welcoming and friendly the staff are here. Like you he's very honest so it just goes to show what an amazing place Pellici's is. Be great if the 2 of of you did a video together buddy as you both love top quality food no matter what the price is and are very similar minded. Thanks again mate and looking forward to catching up with more vlogs over next couple of days👍
That food looks amazing! I have been for breakfast which was an amazing experience and one of the best breakfasts I have had. I was back in London last month and really wanted to have the Lasagne, but a mix up with the City boat tour meant I missed the closing time (on the boat for 90 minutes instead of 30!) - Next time!
Looks great. The place is always manically busy when I try to visit though. I might have to try off-peak hours. I ended up at the Cafe 338 next door last time and it was pretty decent to be fair.

Until I saw a video on this place I had never considered adding pesto into bolognese when I’m eating it, now I do it whenever I can, absolute revelation! 😂
London and the City used to be full of Italian run sandwich shops, coffee bars and restaurants. Sadly many have disappeared to be replaced by eastern European establishments of inferior quality. Looks a great welcoming place.
DJ never been to El Pellicci's but The Regency use to be my local and imho its fantastic. Now the Kennington Cafe is my local, good but not in the same class.
You know at first I thought, chips ... okay very italian. But when they brought out your main meal I thought to myself who wouldn't want to dip a chip in that! Good choice DJ ❤as always mate
They need to put a folded paper serviette under the dish to stop it moving about so much! It looks great though. Being Italian - they know what they are doing with regards to that type of cuisine.
Another enjoyable video Darren, I have been coming here since a small kid in the 80's and such top quality food! + my folks first eat in here in the early 70's-though they always walked past it for years beforehand! There’s a place in Sutton “South London” called “fillings”that does the most wonderful “chicken biryani”where the meat is still on the bones that keeps its texture.Give it a go and keep up with the great content 👍 0:25

@DJ's, I went there yesterday, for the first time!!! I was sat on the next table over from you! I'm Italian by descent and am 71 in a few weeks: have had plenty of FEB's so decided to go Italian as well, like you. The FEB's looked super it has to be said, saving that for next time. I had the chicken escalope with broccoli cheese and chips, was piping hot, have to say I was a little underwhelmed by it tbh BUT I also asked them to do a toasted ciabatta with fried tomatoes and a helping of the bolognese sauce for me. OFF THE FRIKKING CHARTS, mate, otfc - the bolognese was legendary. Had a good laugh with the staff, who were superb, and groups of customers, who were all extremely pleasant and the vibe inside was great. RECOMMENDED.
This reminds me of Arthur’s back in the day on Kingsland Rd. Now Arthur could read you the menu off the top of his head like a hip hop rapper 😉 and you couldn’t order chips with your fry up either only served chips after 11:30 😂😂 another proper east end cafe..
