No stand needed. We have places for the these 2.0 controllers plus the range and the amount of use time for a simple 3a battery is incredible !. It is great not having to use the old controllers with having to charge etc.I imagine people with the old system will not change to these as their investment was far more than these cost. These are a Winner!Yes we need them for our Evolution track also....Can't wait! Nice video!🏁
The indentation on the front base of the new controller looks as if something may be in the works for a separate attachment/stand. Or it will give 3D printers something to work off. Nice review Trav 👏🏁
Personally I don’t like plunger style controllers. I have been replacing them with the Truspeed controllers. You can get longer cords, it’s not that big of a deal to add additional driver stations.
Hi Ledg. Those in my opinion, are the better choice, compared to the old ones. Why? Because no lithium battery will be used any longer! Lithium batteries are a hazard and are considered as hazerdous goods in Germany, because of its self inflamable status, when storing, for instance. The Carrera are small ones, but fall under the same regulations. I had to make a special education for those Lithium batteries, becomming a Facility Manager. Those batteries tend to inflame themselves back up, after being extinguished. Firefighters here in Germany for instance, store cars that contain those batteries which had inflamed, in sepperate locations and containers, where the reinflamming won`t harm other things in the surroundings.Besides, there is too much inviromental damage, when getting the Lithium out of the earth. You also have to get some new ones, when their capacity is gone, which happens too quick on those by Carrera (The loading cycles). Their sustain yield is to be considered negative. The loading cycles are not as durant, when being loaded falsly and the cells do get damaged then. When not useing them for a longer time, load them up to 80% and not 100%. When reusing them, load them up to 100%. Storing them is also a problem, I mentioned. I got special non flamble bags for my Li-Batteries to store them. Special containers are more useful and more expensive, but everyone should keep in mind, those are a ticking time bombs. If they inflame themselves, you better be around, or you might wake up, if you are asleep and your surroundings is burning. We have smoke detectors in outr private homes and also in working facillities. It is statutory here. Big plus for the newer ones therefore! Those batteries are better in the recycling process, compared to LI`s. I my opinion you have been nagging too long on their banana form. Is it really so annoying, to have them not standing up? Any way, keep the good stuff comming Mate. Greets towards down-under 🙂
to me using normal batteries is a step backwards but understand their reason with shipping and them not standing up by themself is just ridiculous and as to the old power bases looking untidy I mounted mine next to the power control base hanging out the same side of the track so you don't have them interfering with track layout. definit no for me. I have never had an issue with charging and them going flat but i use my track every day so they are always fully charged and when using for extended time I change controllers every time I change the car I am running or back on base between races when running with others
@@Fcu-t4g it was a given fact to use rechargeable batteries so the old system is just the same except i can charge them on their base right at the track and don't need to buy extra batteries and a charger all just extra expense also don't have to make anything to hold them up with also extra money
I agree this is a better system overall. People hate change so this is more for the newer people just getting into digital and people like me that didn't have wireless till now. Our 2.0 wireless set works great and one triple aaa battery in each controller has lasted many races and days. Plus they are cheap anyway. Rechargeable aaa batterys may be next but I doubt we will even bother. This is a lot better as you stated TEGSLOT-RACING!🏁
I am not finding any lag but I don''t go outside 50 meters to use these fine controllers to control a slot car inside a shed that far away. I find them to be on top of all use all the time.🏁
I sure do miss the big Carrera Layout.
It's coming back

Some great points there mate, cheers for watching

I hope they add a stand

Great review👍🏻not being able to stand is a deal breaker for me. Do they cost the same?
It needs to be fixed

Thanks for watching and the comment legend
Good video Travis I just don’t like how they can’t stand up
I agree mate

Using changeable rechargeable batteries you can have multiple charged in your pit box so can hot swap instead of having to recharge on a base 😉

You didn’t talk about the lag or delay in the controller slot car dood why not ???
Did I not show that? Was a slight delay in the thumb press, same as the originals
