Well, he had a stable front and seems to have put up a great defensive campaign. It’s definitely a better and more integral front line than I’ve ever had as France. Merry Christmas.
It's fun AF to build up Vichy, when you lose play as Vichy, build up an army and go down your focus tree to regain your country, then declare war on Germany as round 2 it's like vanilla Omsk

It's very reminiscent of that classic joke about France or Italy, which goes like, "Their tanks have five gears - four in reverse, and one forwards (for if they're attacked from behind)"
just so you know, extending the maginot actually works tho, you just gotta get the forts to lvl 6 on italy and belgium and you can hold with what meager divs you have

25:55 As a player that mostly plays minor nations (and tortures himself with playing Chile in South America) I pick grand battleplan for the supply bonus that you get in the high command spirits, since that is exclusive to GBP doctrine
It wouldn't have helped in this situation because like he said near the start of the video supply bonus' don't really help that much in western Europe (I agree it would 100 percent help in south America though lol)
Supply bonus is crucial in Chile, given that it's all mountain.

Merry Christmas and good holidays!!! Knowing that I mostly play as France, without any DLCs, my average game is this desesperate defence, generally at the French borders or along the Somme and the Maginot line, for a long time before breaking through the germans lines because they have 4 milions casualties and my industry slowly build up.
And it is cool to ear the French names and places pronouced the French way.

I know you say it all the time but i always attack with infantry, sometimes with an armored spearhead but not all of the time especially when i have multiple fronts going on.
It works excellently, capitulated the ussr several times with that.
I always use infantry expert too
The extra attack means more soft attack so more damage to divisions both on attack and defense. Not as good defense as the ambusher entrenchment but still great for massed attacks over a massive front with armour leading the way, also good for closing pockets without tying up your armour for faster capitulations of larger or tougher nations

When asking the AI for land to occupy, they will never give up all of the land they hold. They will always hold on to at least one state. If you want them to say yes, get high war score (like you did in the video) and ask for all but one of the states they own.
or use toolbox mod and transfer control to yourself. I don't even consider it cheating because paradox has designed the most disgustingly broken diplomacy and peace deal system.
@@TheKadanz you can also just type 'yesman' into the console and the AI will accept any request you send. Just be sure to type it in again to toggle it off.
The issue is that that's obviously cheating. Anything that is not strictly vanilla or uses the console is considered "cheating" by the game, which means you aren't able to get achievements.
Don't get me wrong, use whatever mods you want to use. Play however you want to play. But for BitterSteel, I imagine he wouldn't want to use any mods or the console.

Hello BitterSteel, I have a strategy for the achievement No More Partitions.
Basically you will go down the Poland's secret Romanov path (refuse every king twice). Then you start to recruit as much divisions as you can and rush the Romanov branch. When the world tension be at 10% you start to justify a war goal on Hungary. Meanwhile you demand Slovakia (don't demand Yugoslavia) make the focus for the Baltics, declare war on Latvia, Estonia and Hungary at the same time. After defeating then demand Yugoslavia's annexation, they usually refuse. If you want you can try to take Bulgaria. If Italy starts to justify, just release Slovenia. Give up Danzig (you can retake it later. Defeat the Soviets (beware of invasions in the black sea) while recruiting troops. Then with around two full army groups, defeat the Axis.
Tips: the best template I found was 9 infantry and 4 artillery; Make the Międzymorze and satellite Moldova.

When you need more convoys because you're using them all for lend leases so you get a lend lease of convoys: My genius is almost frightening.

It is a disaster save within HoI4, but within history, this "disastrous" France did much better than the irl one - it did not capitulate despite losing a big chunk of the country, it retained some of the navy and a lot of the army and it had a defendable front - even if it was desperate. And the axis losses were pretty big even at the beginning of the save. I like this narrative in which France pulled it together and won in the end. Well played.
I love how germany was so c*cked and confused trying to defeat france that norway survived for so long, yugoslavia actually survived, and stalin cackles over how sending a couple of guns and artillery pieces to le baguettes saved him from having to deal with barbarossa in any way, shape or form.
