This is one of the better things I've experienced in my life. Why I never connected Ka Spel and AFP in the past I'll have no idea. Like WHAT a pairing of voices. The video is everything anyone is saying about it. Thank you, thank you
In this video there is something so deep that I just can't explain it. It really touched me in the most sincere way. Thank you for sharing this piece of soul with us. Love you and love your art.
Just discovered you, Amanda. I saw several videos, listend to "the art of asking" and now thid vid... You're amazing. You've got yourself a new admirer. Love, Jan
You are such an amazing inspiring woman. Never forget how many people love not just your music but your authentic beautiful soul. You help me love myself.
I've listened to the whole cd of I can spin a rainbow. And I can feel different emotions going on all at once. But the jack of hands definitely through me off. I thought it was about something happy but then it turned sinister. The cd plays with ur emotions and in away u love it because its different from amanda palmers other songs. Its definitely something I can listen to when I'm angry or needing something to listen to, to help me sleep.
Natalie Parker Same. I wasn't the biggest lover of this song - or the rest of the album tbh - but I actually enjoyed it a lot more when watching this incredible video.
the cross-cut candles exposing that they were made with burnt wicks seems to me to be an apt artistic metaphor for the notion of people called "old souls." 5:28
Amanda, you've made videos that were about victims of rape, such as Mr Weinstein Will see you Now. Do you think you will also make music for those who were falsly accused of rape and had their lives destroyed as a result? Such as what happened with the Duke lacrosse case. Would love for you to give a voice to those poor unfortunate souls.
Monica Zalog because men being falsely accused of rape and having their lives destroyed by a single comment while the woman gets off completely free for making the comment is fair? No it’s immoral and sexist.
Bob Bobson of course it's not because of that. It's just that the whole Me-Too-Movement is about putting into perspective the struggles women have fought and still fight being confronted with sexist, self-righteous men. Writing about women tricking men by accusing them falsely of rape at this very moment would rob the debate of it's dynamic and importance and belittle the topic which is finally properly adressed in public. That doesn't mean that the problem you stated isn't a problem as well. But writing about it now would result in this - to say the least - quite unsensitive dialogue: "I was raped by a man." "Oh, well, you know: Women can be assholes, too." Again, as I said, Palmer adressed the topic. Here's what she's written in her notes about "Missed Me": "Many people have asked me if this song is about child abuse or rape. The answer is that this song speaks to something which sometimes exists along side those horrible things: a kind of folie-a-deux in which a young girl willingly puts herself in harm's way and then blames an older man for succumbing to her seduction. ..."
I'm a huge fan of Legendary Pink Dots and Laurie Anderson and this reminds me of both. I love it.
This really put me into a trance ... I feel no longer human , I’ve transformed . Thank you for this experience
This must be one of the most entrancing videos I've ever seen. It's honestly breathtaking
Beautiful stop motion work, and song too, please come to Brasil, Amanda

She kind of did that with "Missed Me", although that song is written out of the perspective of a girl/woman who accuses a man.
Bob Bobson lol calm tf down.
she never will do something like that and thank god for that
