Wagakki Band are world class musicians. How would I know? I worked for Prince, AC/DC, Motley Crue, Metallica, Deep Purple, Chicago, Atlanta Rythym Section, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bad Company, Steve Winwood, the Police, and a few more. These guys are exceptional! They have my respect.
I found this band only recently (regrettably), and was immediately convinced that this band has the highest level of musicianship (musicality/virtuosity) and showmanship (visual/theatrical effects)
Actually, I think this band is among the best fusion bands ever existed, and the very best when it comes to originality and showmanship.
Who you didn't work for? Maybe you got fired the first day anytime?
their ability to hype the crowd and make them perform with them using their instruments and gestures is superb. i know this commonly happens in band performances, but this is a big group with unique artists together so they really have to be coordinated. and let me just say, that guy playing koto is freaking cute
I've observed that Japanese concert crowds really grab that whole "audience participation" thing and RUN with it :D

It is amazing to see something beautiful these days.
This band is outstanding. And whoever does the camera work is on the same level.
All these Japanese bands are so underrated not only can they play & sing beautifully they perform a great show, need more publicity & airtime over here in the U.K like BabyMetal they will sell out.

Why has this band not toured more in the West? In my opinion, they are the best band in the world in the last 10 years.

Japanese music industry is pretty huge tho (only behind US and believe or not, bigger than Korean). They can be famous only in their country but still remain earnings.
This band can and should expand into global market much more!!
They toured in the West around this time, called "Deep Impact", you can find some footage of them doing so as well as radio interviews with US radio stations. Since then they haven't done it again and don't seem interested, in recent interviews I've only seen them express interest in touring Taiwan and Indonesia.
From what I've read, it's a wider problem with the Japanese music industry. They want to be big in the West as well, but it's a huge struggle. Wagakki's Deep Impact Tour did okay, I remember seeing a video of them go in NYC and the line was around the block, but elsewhere they were more like a smaller band in smaller venues. By contrast in Japan they can book huge concert venues and fill them up. So they have to put in the effort to market in the West, in English, and to likely smaller venues, so it's more expensive and they get less money. Moreover, their English skills aren't that amazing, Beni and Yuko could speak a little, but they need to have an interpreter with them because they don't have enough knowledge to express what they want to say. The other is that the Japanese music industry is that they are kind of old school and slow to change, it's still reliant on CD sales, whereas most of the world is on Streaming. They're slowly changing but they don't want give up on something that still works. The other is this feeling that the outside world just doesn't like Japanese music, often rooted in their industries misguided attempts to appeal to Westerners (i.e. Japanese singers making albums in English).
In short, it's too much of an investment and they do not think they'll be anywhere near as popular in the West as they are in Japan so it's not worth it in their eyes.

This band is freaking exceptional, and the chemistry is so intense, even going through some of the hardest times I've experienced, this band can still bring me a smile. I dream to one day see them live, and if they don't come to Aus. I'll hopefully be able to afford to travel and see them.
My earwax in both of my ears melted listening to this band. Whenever I want to clear my ears I'd always come for this band.

I found these guys back in mid 2018. Phenomenal band. Energy they bring is crazy intense. Extremely talented musicians. Her voice is amazing...classically trained of course.

I was there! Unfortunately from the video one cannot feel the atmosphere of the Heian Jingu. It really was a great idea to hold the event in that location.
Most great concerts are like that..you simply cant capture the vibe..I flew from Los Angeles to London to see DJ Pete Tong play with a full orchestra at the O2 arena. No way any video could capture the energy
I feel a good wipe. Not as good as your, being there, lucky bastard. But I am happy with these uploads. Hope they stay.
