I saw a live gig with her on Mezzo (recorded in Paris) and had to look up who she was, great player! :) And yes, her HAT immediately reminded me of Marcus' trademark headgear! (also her tone and skills on fretless bass). These two seem a natural combo. Kinga is young, not even twenty-five years of age, so I hope we will see them playing together again.
Why am I not surprised! Marcus has a pulse on all musicians... I'm just learning about Kinga Glyk and have been telling everyone about her. Hopefully I'll have the chance to see her concert in the states! 😃
Tutu' was written and largely performed by Marcus Miller, who had asked producer Tommy LiPuma if he could contribute some music to Miles's first album for his new label Warner Bros.
She's a pretty good bass player but a far cry from Marcus Millers command of the instrument and musical vocabulary. I'd like to hear what she could do over some jazz changes. That's the true test. Marcus can blow over any standard. Giant Steps, Stella whatever.. I think Kinga is just a funk R&B player.. correct me if I'm wrong.
You should definitely check some of her recent music, but even when that video came out 5y ago, she was mostly (at least for me) associated with jazz. Check out Donna Lee or Lennie’s Pennies, I think you may find them interesting :) Marcus Miller cannot be compared with any musician so there is no point in comparing those two, but Kinga has a solid ground in jazz world and now, working with Michael League (from Snarky Puppy) on new album with amazing musicians is only a proof that she grows and we are going to hear about her for many years
Marcus should definitely hire you to vet the musicians he gonna to do a collab with. I’m pretty sure both u and Marcus are on the same level musically. Oh wait
@@chriss7957 with michael league. anyway you're missing the point. we all know how good marcus miller is. he played with miles davis tats a benchmark no one can reach. she being on stage doesnt have to be "oh you need to be as good as marcus to be next to him" becos she has a small musical vocab then marcus that makes her less of a musican?. no one musican is bigger then the tradition itself.
She does belong there. She is playing in his field, he calls all the shots - and she was obviously very nervous because she didn't want to blow this opportunity. Listen to her stuff, she is fantastic.
Hahaha, You're funny, gook... Seems thousands of spectators disagree with you. She's 19 or 20 years old here, an incredible promise for the future, playing with one of the greatest. What were you doing at 19...? Take @true's advice and listen to her, you might just enjoy it..
wow Kinga guess this a dream come true to play with one of your heroes
Kinga is very talented. I am so happy to hear her play with Marcus Miller. What a pleasure to be alive 🙌🏼 magnificent sound !!!

Kinga + Marcus, Wow!
Marcus and Kinga! So bloody cool! Thanks for the post!

What a set up. über cool Marcus, and super talentet beautiful Kinga. Thx a lot
I know the talented Kinga, with "the master" Marcus Miller it's fabulous !!!
fantastic👌. My two favorit basseplayers. Thanks for sharing.

LOVE this. What a beautiful moment.
What a SHOW!!
I wonder if Kinga has ever been nervous in her life.
I was thinking the same thing. But if I were that beautiful and talented, I wouldn't gaf either.
They put everyone on blast…with BLAST !! That was hot ! 🔥👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾
This brought the house down for sure
yooooooo where has this video been? loved it, Kinga has always given me Marcus vibes, she's so talented
Brawo KINGA
This is sooo cool. Thanks kindly for posting, yeah!!!
It's not really a cover, when Miller wrote the song, recorded it with Miles on the original and produced the original
I was thinking that too.
It's his song
Best of the best!
There are many concerts, Marcus' ones are the best.
Łał! Chyba bardziej mi się Kingi wstawki podobały niż Marcusa :D
Anybody know who the band is? I only know
Marcus Miller - Bass/bass clarinet
Brett Williams - keys
Alex Han - Sax
wow, awesome bassplayers
OHHHHHH SNAP!!! Sax, too?? Blessings, Grace and Peace 😊

Music is talking and dancing!
Hands up any bassist out there who could stand in her shoes (at her age) without a swift change of underwear?
I couldn’t work those stage lights without freaking out.

Kinga is abadass
It was very petty and dishonest to make Kanga's sound thinner and quieter than Marcus's.
That's not how that works man
@@adamguinnmusic5871 that's how that sounds man
This is the first time I think Kinga was a bit nervous and was really struggeling. But this opportunity you do not have every day!
Marcus es mi padre y Kinga es mi madre

Sorry, but BLAST in a monotone thing like à éléphant who stamps on a beton way making a endless Boum Boum Boum

That drumgroove doesnt fit the song in my opinion
Which song?
the girl doesn't belong there, way too average
Lets see you play.
Guess if Marcus invites you on stage it must mean you pretty good right?
