Ngl dude I agree with him so much because at first the ukelele is cool but there’s a reason most musicians consider it a toy. There’s only so much you can do with it and him not using it just means he’ll find ways to be unique without it. If the only thing he has making him special is a ukelele and a mask then I honestly can’t see me listening to him much longer. That being said my music taste has changed a lot since I started listening to him so I have to say I really like the direction his new album is taking.
I respect his decision like Hell -you do whatever you want as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone- but you can definitely play the ukulele without it getting stale. Look at Brother IZ.
His music feels so genuine and just boywithuke even without the ukulele. He is my favorite artist I saw him live his music is SO goooood. Charley is growing, evolving, and I can't wait to see what happens next
