I look at Arran every day, I stay on the mainland and it's just amazing to look at, and the sunsets in the summer with the sun setting behind the mountains, it's always absolutely STUNNING.
Pleased that you had a safe journey - ferry service in Scotland at the moment is not so reliable, so just happy you had no issues. Anyway hopefully you will have fun and see some nice sights on the Island, but I am really thinking that we need to get you an alarm clock as you are always running late. I seriously think that one of the Scottish newspapers or radio stations should get to know about you buddy - get some sponsorship, you are doing a tremedous job and supporting and making Scotland more attractive for any visitors - stay safe buddy.
I live in the next village up from Ardrossan, I can see the Isle of Arran from my house and the ferry's crossing to and from the mainland. About a year ago the Royal Marines treated the passengers to a training exercise on the ferry when they showed up in a speed boat and climbed aboard while it was sailing out in the water.
You're making me want to book a trip to Arran, been too long since I was last there! Glad to see you had a good time! Arran is in the Firth of Clyde so you're technically still on the River Clyde here! The Firth of Clyde has a microclimate that's milder than the rest of the country so it's even greener than the rest of Scotland, and some places even have palm trees! The first announcement on the ferry was in Scots Gaelic (pronounced gahlic). The roads on Lochranza are typical of most rural roads in Scotland, and many are even narrower, like the single track roads! I stayed in that youth hotel on a school trip about 20 years ago 😂 That was when we tried and failed to walk the Arran Coastal Way. We did about half of it before the weather got the better of us (and we realised our waterproofs weren't so waterproof!). Looking forward to your next video!
I really enjoyed watching you on your travels. Your enthusiasm is catching and makes me want to start galavanting myself!! Looking forward to seeing the next part. Ah canna wait 😂❤
I never get tired of Arran; 5 generations of my extended family have holidayed regularly there no matter how far they have ended up from Scotland. Won't be long now till Gen 5 start cooking up Gen 6 to carry on the tradition! Enjoy.
Seem like such a down to earth and happy guy and it's hard not to smile along with you. I probably take a lot of it for granted because I grew up on Arran, so seeing it through someone else's perspective is exciting. It is funny that you said its a big ferry when that was actually one if the smallest ones that you can travel on haha. Looking forward to the next episode!
Arran is beautiful..try to see the standing stones while you are there..take binoculars and you will spy eagles.. Deer wander down from the mountains.. Our family love Arran. They call it the Sleeping giant as from Ayr it looks like he lay down to rest. The air is so fresh and clean too, anyway have a wonderful wee visit.
Hi Eddy, really enjoyed your video. I was born in Ardrossan but haven't been back for many years. The harbour area I could see from your film looks very different to what it was like when I was a kid. Most summers we would go over to Brodick at least once but I never made it to Lochranza. I will enjoy watching your further Arran adventures!
If we all had the zest for life and the love you have for Eddy the world would be a far better place .. love your blogs .. Glad your putting Scotland on the map 🏴😀
Hi. Don’t know how you popped up on my page, but I’m so glad you did! What a great journey. Scotland is so beautiful. Look forward to seeing more of your adventures. Have Liked and Subscribed 😊🇬🇧
Loved your video. Holidayed and lived in Scotland many years but never visited Isle of Arran. Your energy and personality made it an enjoyable video to watch. 😂
Hello from Scotland, Eddy🏴😊. New subscriber, this video was brilliant, so funny😂😂. We visit Arran every year, so glad you loved it! Looking forward to watching your other vlogs😊
This is cool to see, the islands are nice! You gotta check out Lewis & Harris sometime, stunning scenery and beaches in Harris, and Stornoway on the weekends has some night life, the pubs and town was good crack when I was there 👍
I feel your pain everytime you just make the train 😂😂 that's me, skin of my teeth everytime 🏃🏻♀️ keep up the good work, your teaching me stuff and am scottish 🏴 your enthusiasm is brilliant Eddy, your a joy tae watch honestly 🏴💙🏴
Grew up in Irvine and have seen the isle every day for donkeys years but am ashamed to say i have never actually set foot on it...def somethin needs to be rectified
Eddy, I was born and lived in Scotland for 66 years and never been to Arron 🤣 right enough you visited the Kelpies which is two minutes away from where I live and I’ve never been either. Glad you enjoyed the ferry crossing although my sides were sore laughing when you said you can’t afford for it to sink and the wee Ned’s . Great video as always 👍
To be honest, I've started to say to people 'What's the craic, what's the story?' I've caught a bad dose of Eddyititis. I don't think there's a cure. I'm doomed. Smashing Eddy
A dont know how you do this Eddy, constantly on the go! I do hope one day you get to see the Campsie Hills, Personally my favourite almost unheard of spot thats easy to reach! Been to Arran Myself and its a great trip for the family, got a great memory of going there with parents and my grandparents :) Also good tip for midgies, Theyre usually attracted to people that have eaten more sugary stuff and i think theres some spray you can get for them, People might tell you we tough it out but its LIES xD
And so, Eddy's love-hate relationship with the midges begins in earnest. If you see any nets for sale, they're a good investment, Eddy, even if they do make you you look ridiculous. And DON'T whatever you do open the window before putting the light off - you have been warned!!
Hey Eddie,do yourself a favour and buy a bottle of skin so soft, from avon. It's one of the best midgie repellents, for when you come to Scotland.😎keep on keeping on.joe.
A car is definately needed in a place like that Eddy...you wouldn't catch me trying to walk around that place, i prefer to watch others do the hard work.

Oh yes, Arran's really nice. Hope you get to ride the bus round the south side of the island, it's a very pretty run through to Brodick.

For some reason they are repelled by my blood, same with Mosquitos. I think it's quite tasty myself.
Ach, it's extra protein if you swallow one!.
