The "vinyl stripping" that you remove at the start of the video...is that a product or part that can be purchased to repair windows? The glass in my windows is fine, but that vinyl stripping is chipping and exposing the edge of the glass around the windows. I can't seem to find the specific name for that part or any place that sells it.

Thanks for the video. I have a few questions:
    1) What dimensions is the double sided adhesive foam? I see it comes in 1/6 and 1/8 depth? Does it matter? Wouldn't it push the window out if too big?
    2) Why spray with the window cleaner? Wouldn't that kill the adhesive on the tape rendering useless the double sided adhesive tape to begin with?
    3) You mention silicone in the corner, what silicone are you using in

How do you know when you can use double sided tape instead of silicone all the way around the IGU?

Mid-Cities Window Washing, LLC if it’s foam taped before then I always suggest foam tape. If it’s siliconed i do silicone. Reason being is it’s more difficult to remove every bit of silicone and have the foam tape stick properly. Foam tape won’t stick if there is even a slight bit of silicone. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻

I think your saying "now you want to sink the breather tube (at 5:02). Then it look like your snipping that tube prior to "sinking" it. I thought double pane windows are sealed with argon gas. Wouldn't you be venting the window (loosing the vacuum seal) after snipping that tube? Also, did you purchase a complete double pane glass (custom made to fit) or did someone remove and replace just the cracked side? All new to me. Trying to DIY one myself on a smaller 29"x33" window. Thanks for doing the video btw. This is the only one like it I could find.

Thanks for watching! So when I put the breather tube in I don’t put it all the way through the spacer. Just about 1/4 inch. Thing is with double pane windows you can’t just fix the one broken side you have to replace the whole unit. I ordered this from a local window manufacturer for around $18. Watch my other RUclips video where I go more in debt on how it’s done. Let me know if you have any questions!

@@miketheglassguy7568 Thanks for the prompt reply Mike. Really was asking more about the purpose of snipping the tube rather than it's placement. Again, I assumed that tube might be used to insert argon or pull a vacuum between the panes after assembly. I assumed the tube is then crimped to maintain the seal between the panes. I really dont know. But if that is the case, wouldn't snipping the tube be venting the area between the glass to the atmosphere?
Also, I've called a couple local window dealers for a price on a replacement for my window. I let them know I'm doing removal & installation myself. I just want a quote for the glass. The measurements are 31 5/8" x 27 1/4". Total thickness 3/4". Clear annealed glass. Grid (5'8" rectangle bar) with two verticals and one horizontal. Three different dealers quoted me $140 give or take a few, just for the double window replacement pane. I'd understand a fair markup but it's seems a far cry from the larger $18 window you ordered. Do you think that price is correct because I am not an official installer or?

The content was good, but the constantly moving camera started to make me sick.
