  • In this video I discuss one and two man approaches to clearing doors in CQB. This video is only a quick look into the subject as it is a relatively short video and this subject is easily a 30 minute topic when I teach it to students.
    I mention OODA loops briefly in this video. Below you will find a link to a longer video I did a few years ago on the subject of OODA loops and how they apply to CQB principles:

    The outward opening door information also helps from clearing from inside a house. For example opening your own bedroom door when there's a bump in the night, or for airsoft after breaching in through a window.

    Love the video! Good, accurate demonstration!
    Let me know if you need another body to do videos of two man clearing. I'd be happy to help! Probably need the practice anyway! :P

      This was originally a 25 minute video. I just got too far into the weeds. I had to cut it WAY down.

      @Gunfather Milsim where's the 25min video, I would honestly greatly benefit from that since I'm studying for police qcb

    What would the wingman do when the door opener goes down?

    • @GunfatherMilsim
      @GunfatherMilsim  11 месяцев назад +1

      It is depends. Obviously return fire is a good option. From a SWAT perspective if there are no innocent lives threatened we would focus on extracting the injured officer and locking down the room the shooter is in. We would then use gas or tear the wall off from the exterior with an armored car or Rook. On the SWAT side we are always asking "Do I have to go in that room or is there a safer way I can do this?"

    Does this translate to Escape From Tarkov

      I don't play Tarkov. I imagine it would work. It is a game of angles just like airsoft. Why don't you try it out and report back?

    Whst if someone behind door

    • @GunfatherMilsim
      @GunfatherMilsim  4 месяца назад

      In my experience people hiding behind doors is very rare. The two times I have encountered it in the last twenty years I think it was less of a choice and more of just where they happened to end up. In both cases it was obvious there was someone behind the door because of the way it opened. For lack of a better term it was "squishy". In both instances a couple of strong shoulders against the door resulted in an immediate surrender.

      @@GunfatherMilsim HEY HEY I respect the milsim and combat operators, and I have learned CQB in simulator games alongside experienced community members, but I have a question! Assuming split stack #1 strong side & #2 weak side on a center fed, would 1 person pie the threshold at a time or would both operators pie the threshold at the same time? Arguments have been made to contrast one being more dynamic and focusing on violence of action / speed and the other being more deliberate and possibly thorough and safer. What is your opinion?

    • @GunfatherMilsim
      @GunfatherMilsim  4 месяца назад +1

      @Pearmesan Two guys snapping the door at the same time is great in theory but in practice it is more challenging. Getting two grown men wearing armor to snap a door at the same time is very difficult. There just isn't enough room. On a commercial door with light weight kit it is doable but still tight. Realistically someone has to go slightly before the other. Additionally when snap a door in this fashion "Bail Out" is not an option. First off there is no room and second it would leave the back of the other guy exposed. I am not a huge fan of techniques that leave no option for bailing out but I am fairly conservative in my CQB because of my SWAT background.
