James I’m sorry for commenting so much… I just wanted to briefly appreciate how much you and tucker have brought a fresh breath of air to my way too chaotic, and self loathing life. Haha. I’m in the hospital right now. I really needed this. I am not home right now to harvest the garden I slaved over all year. Thank you for taking me on your journeys of collecting some of the finest food on the internet. Love you tucker ❤❤❤ you’re alright, James
We love you commenting Nancy you are an important part of Team Grow and the community. Me and Tuck are sorry you are in the hospital and we are hoping and wishing you a speedy recovery! 😁🐕❤️
My fav RUclips intro. Makes my husband and I chuckle every time. It’s basically become a household meme. Wanna go [insert activity here]? “Let’s go!!” in JP hype voice!
That last little bit of end-of-summer harvest in that one bed is more than we got from our garden all season. 😂 It's okay, thought, because we're still learning. And thanks to you and Tuck, we now have more helpful tips for fall planting. Thank you for this video. Much love and appreciation to you and Tuck!!
❤ Hi, thank you for sharing. I'm trying to start my little garden by following all your tips and tricks. So far I have butternut squash, cucumber Lemmon, cucumbers pickling, golden zucchini and tomatoes and a few more 😊
I just harvested my first potatoes ever. It was very excited. Never grew them before. I did plant a second round of cucumbers, lettuce, carrots, radishes and I planted a zucchini that's supposed to be done in 40 days so we shall see. Thanks for your videos. Very informative❤❤❤❤ to Tuck
Jimmy P you spoke to me during several parts of this video, you get it. Its so hard to clear out the summer crops and plant the fall varieties because you're just sitting and wishing for another 15 blaudhildes but the truth is you're better off cutting your (almost) guaranteed losses and starting the fall crops. Great advice as usual and as always much love from Bergen County --- 201 ✌️ 👌☝️
I'm in South Carolina and i have a particularly tough time at growing cabbage and hoping by watching James's channel that maybe I'll do better this time around! 🤷♀️🤦♀️
Thanks James and Tuck! ♥️♥️♥️ It’s also good to cut bean plants at ground level, leaving the roots and nodules in the earth. Those nodules are nitrogen fixing factories and great soil improvement! Then I plant cabbage or cover crop right in the bed. Believe me, I pulled a lot of bean plants before I learned about this!
I was going to comment on pulling out those beans too! Any root really, but also love your video's and energy, I am also learning heaps from what you do. Thanks for sharing!
I have a small section in my garden where last year I made some ridiculously good soil, cost me too much at the time in coco vermiculite perlite compost(was newer to it and bought expensive stuff) but it is such a lush section of my garden. Looking at your bed there and how freely you can move your hands through it without it being in a pot is a goal for my entire garden. Looks amazing haha
Zone 8b and we're still getting triple digits! Seedlings are a little leggy because I start seeds under regular LEDs in a small apartment and I garden out of a community plot, so it's kinda hard to garden. I can't wait to get my first real home and garden with easily accessible plots and equipment! Watching your videos give me something to look forward to and learn something along the way. Thank you!
With beans, I just cut the growth down to the soil and leave the roots with the nitrogen nodules in the soil. Plant your next crop directly, and they benefit from the nodules.
In Florida I'll be pulling peppers and eggplant the first of October, but frost wouldn't kill them until Thanksgiving or after. Once the day length falls below 12 hours their production is super slow, so it's not really worth leaving them.
Hi james, i made a mistake with my full stop, so i am correcting. Thanks for the way how you teach us to use the peat moss , and how to apply fertilizer around the crops. This is my first comment,😂 nuff love to you and tuck,
James, you have such a relatable and positive way of sharing wisdom and I appreciate your presence I normally think of all the ways technology has made life more complicated and harder to really connect with people, but youtubers like you highlight the way technology connects us to great people with love and wisdom to share whom we wouldn't otherwise know existed. Thanks, James Youre a living legend
Love your videos and as a seasoned gardener myself I hope to see you talk more to your viewers about the importance of using NEEM AT NIGHT!!! NEEM OIL CAN HURT THE BEES. It's a wonderful oil and many people like it, I have some somewhere myself too. Once you've smelled it you'll never forget it. It's just so important to remember insecticides do not discriminate and Neem oil can harm the bees. Neem oil is safer for bees when used at night when bees should be in their hive. Thank you for feeding the bees and doing your part!
Nice informative garden video, thanks !! Yay for a Fall garden. I took a week of vacation to plant instead of traveling anywhere. This is where it is at, love it !!
Inspiring as always! I wonder if can do a video on how you organize out of garden. Ex: spread sheet, varieties, what and when to plant. Also garden tool video/ storage/ organizing. 👍
Its so freaking hot but I started my fall seeds a few weeks ago. My biggest issue is the lack of sun, if you don't time it right, your fall crops will not be big enough by the time its getting less than 10 hours a day of light and will just linger (or die) until spring. So get them as big as possible while you can.
Oh my gosh! I’m bingeing on your posts! I’m not far south of you in Egg Harbor City not far from Stockton. I’m kind of in the Pines more than you….any ideas to get me started. I have land, but am otherwise starting the food garden from scratch. So excited!
I’ll never be able to put my hands in the soil like you do! It actually has made it tough to garden because it’s hard to tell if the soil is dry. I did buy a moisture meter to help me, though. Thanks for giving me the nudge I needed to pull out the old bean plants!
Geez James! They could make a Japanese Kaiju movie about that monster cabbage!🦖 Great advice as usual. (You're super right about the temp change. Here in Southern Ontario, it is 86F, but tonight will be 66F!) Sooo glad to see a bit of Tuck up and around being a boss!💕 So sorry he's been a bit down lately.😢❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@james P. I just wanted to say that I have been watching your channel for a while now and I just love it. First & Last Jerzey Gardening channel you will ever need to watch. Say hi to Tuck for me! ( from 609 )
I had to quit growing cabbage because of those darn Harlequin bugs. It's been a few years and I moved the garden so I'm going to try again. Maybe they'll be confused for a season or two. Another fabulous video, oh great master of Jersey growing! Hi Tuck! ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you. I’ve been following you and using your suggestions for my summer garden and I’m so pleased with the crops I’ve gotten. Now, I’ll follow your suggestions to prep for the fall crops. Your video is so informative and my two Westies love the cucumbers and carrots just like Tuck. Thank you James
So grateful i found your channel. I appreciate your generous sharing of knowledge and your enthusiasm. Love that Tucker is always included. Keep up the awesome work!

I leave beans and pea roots. I also use blk eyed peas as a cover crop.
