    I live on 109 around 10 Miles from eldorado Outpost im a mile away from slatemine road and have heard tree knocks around the house where i live this year timber rattlesnakes i have seen them around the yard i seen 3 snakes so far so i don't go walking around the yard at night. Back in 2001 i met friends that lived on slate mine road they said that they seen a black panther back in the woods where they used to hunt off of their property. I was past the rifle range in the forest me and some people that was with me went down to the falls lake behind the dam and it was hot that day when some of them went swimming not far from the uwharrie River goes into it And on the other side it sounded like a bull bellowing going up and down the other side of the lake where marrow mountain is on the other side it was back in 2015. And later that year me and my girlfriend went there to get away from my daughter and son in law and her daughter and baby just us for a change. It was just started getting dark when we got there i put down the tailgate on my blaze and we got out was there about 45 minutes sitting on the tailgate wind was blowing the leaves in the trees she looks at me and said did i hear that. i said here what 15 minutes went by she said again do i hear that.i said the only thing I here is the wind blowing the leaves in the trees 15 20 minutes went by she said did i hear that. I herd a deep growing coming from the woods where you can drive down to the lake through the field the last horse camp on the right after you go past the rifle range i have not been past the rifle range since that happened. I have been fishing last year but close to Blane Rd

    Great vid! My son and I have hiked a couple of times off the 109 Trailhead. We always stop at the Eldorado outpost. Some cool bigfoot shirts there. My son is slightly disabled and could only make it to the creek so I am thinking about hiking further down the trail on my own. I have a locator beacon and a high-powered pistol, so I hopefully won't go missing 411'd. I'm in China Grove.

      If you’re familiar with missing 411 then you know a disabled person is more likely to get yawked, better attach a gps beacon to him.

      @@GideonHawk-j8i Exactly right. I don't think I'll take him deep-woods hiking anymore, just stick to the small city park nearby with him. Thanks for the comment.

      Been paddling the French Broad river since the late 70s. Have heard knocking while floating down the river numerous times. Once was up at Mill Ridge waiting for the group to show up on a Friday evening. Heard knocking very close by and thought maybe an AT hiker was setting up camp so I walked down there and saw nothing of course

    Reed's Gold mine is in Cabarrus and it's where a huge nugget was found in a creek. Charlotte became a national mint due to the gold discovered in the area in 1849. Reed's Mine is still open as a tourist attraction and you can pan for gold there. As for Indians, the Creek Indians compound is near Morrow Mnt. with their burial grounds. Obviously a great area for artifacts. Be careful though where you find them. Some areas are off limits.

    Read Befro's expedition to the Uwharrie and figured they were at Yates Place. While standing at the kiosk I looked down and there was a crude spear point . Looked around at other spots and evidence of indian occupation was everywhere

      Morrow mountain was a native American quarry for Arrowhead production.

    • @mikeandrews1899
      @mikeandrews1899 3 месяца назад

      Arrowheads made from the stone quarried at Morrow Mountain have been found hundreds of miles away, with evidence suggesting they were traded or transported by Native Americans across a large region, sometimes traveling significant distances to access the high-quality stone for toolmaking.
