Yeah idk why steezo gets thrown in these “meta comp” conversations what he does is completely different and 99% of players can’t do. If the style of how someone is playing is different than yours as long as it’s not legitimately broken like post scoring in some years, or left righting in some years, I don’t care how you play. We all trying to win by creating mismatches and finding weaknesses on the other team.
All he does is half cancel spins and the loop between his legs back to the three he not all nice this year the way he dribbles can easily be stop by a person who running a lock a center and a small gaurd with a three they will jusy put the lock on him if his defense witch we never see him play if his defense matches his dribbling then okay

My squad and I have a 68-72 win % and we don’t play the meta. We just play good team ball and take what’s given. If it’s slow methodical ball or space and iso we take what’s given the defense gives up and try to play sound fundamental ball and get some Ws

Comp players live on exploits and ruin the gaming experience for casuals. Casuals are a higher percentage of 2k players whom enjoy realism and are usually spending the most money on the game. Add to the fact that Comp players love to go into casual game modes to beat up on casual players and brag about their inflated win percentage.
2k need’s 2 separate versions of this game. One for casuals and one for competitive players.
This 2K is at the bottom of the barrel, SIMPLE! If Take-Two don’t write their wrongs with 2K26 they are f**ked. GTA 6 putting all games on the back burner for at least 3 months.

Seeing alot of steezo meat riders in the comments so far. I dont care if that takes skill it looks goofy AF thats not basketball at all lol 2k has always been a BASKETBALL SIMULATION they should have never introduced arcadey gameplay ever so I blame them for the divide but NOBODY wants a true basketball arcade if they did or it was popular as the arcade heads make it seem they would have never stopped making arcade basketball games like NBA street or NBA Jam the reason those games died is because the sales werent there.
Id play another NBA ballers for a bit and come back to 2k at the end of the day because sim is just more fun yes we want to play like our favorite NBA players the majority of the community does. 2k shouldnt be given the excuse that sim means less control over your players thats goofy af and not realistic if an NBA player wants to do a stepback they dont go up with a layup like you in 2k because you're too close to the paint they need to create a better system to differentiate the type of shot you actually want to do drawing an invisible line on the court that once you go past it you will always get a layup or dunk animation is just lazy game design and has nothing to do with realism.
2k USED to be limited by the technology but they really arent now they are limited by their laziness and their greed not what they could do in game design I refuse to let them make that excuse their should be some kind of modifier button that you need to hold that would tell the game you're trying to do a layup a dunk or a jumpshot and they already have that kind of with RT for dunks vs layups but they dont have one for shooting vs layups and dunks which is arguably more important.
I was saying in another comment that Sim works just fine, and how most sim users do not want or expect arcade elements. It actually the arcade nation that bully their way into sim nation and complain.
@@SkyDiizzyit really does tho I average 22 pts a game and I have a sim play style no L2 cancel dribble cheese or dibble spam in general I make 1-2 moves mostly out the triple threat and get into my shot drive or pass the ball off to a teammate. Alot of these sim haters are truly just little kids and very young adults who grew up playing games like fortnite if anything 2k has bent over backwards to appease THEM not the sim crowd and that's why the game got bad in the first place. If 2k leaned fully into the arcade they would lose everyone including the arcade crowd who would get tired of dunking from the 3pt line after the first few weeks. 2k knows that so they try to please both but it's not working and they need to learn to stop making excuses about "limitations of realism" that don't really exist and just make the game better and just give the sim players that built 2k as a brand what they are asking for.

But Arcade Nation can’t understand that 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 modes are for them. I’ll tell you why… because they are bored and it is boring after having the same experience repeatedly. Now where they ruin it for Sim Nation is bringing it into our game modes then try to convince us that the game is bad.

i truly feel like people forget that the whole original appeal of 2k was it was sim basketball game while ea wasn't they even had that in their commercials being the most realistic basketball game out it wasn't til the death nba live and other nba games that 2k went away from that appeal and started to dabble in other playstyles from all its other competitors that it killed off i truly feel 2k and the community will not be happy until 1 of 2 things happens 1 another basketball game comes out that is actually good to grab some attention away or 2 2k makes a game that genuinely has 2 different modes simulation mode and street mode that way the 2 sides of the community are separated but both get what they need out of them game i say 2k take 2yrs off just keep giving us seasons till then and give us a new game in 2yrs

We all know it's a video game! The problem is that both communities have to play the same game. Would Steezo rather play an NBA Street 2025 video game and let the realistic/sim players have NBA 2K? Baseball fans can play MLB The Show or Super Mega Baseball depending on how much realism they want and whatever else that they are looking for in a Baseball VIDEO GAME. It allows them to be competitive within their own community and don't have to play with/against people who aren't looking for the same experience. Car drivers can play either Assetto Corsa or Need for Speed. There are always going to be playing style disagreements in any VIDEO GAME community (quick scoping in COD for example) but they aren't as divided as the NBA2K community is. Again we all know that we are playing VIDEO GAMES. We shouldn't hate on people that want a realistic football, basketball, racing experience while playing a VIDEO GAME. Same thing goes for someone who wants a more arcade-like experience while playing the VIDEO GAME. FPS players have Arma 3, COD, and Fortnite. I'm sure the Arma 3 community probably feels some kind of way about Fortnite players. Until there is more variety in the Basketball game genre the arcade vs sim beef is never going to end!
I dont think people who want realistic basketball are the problem. 2k25 is anything but realistic. The nba doesnt move slow, there arent 50 steals a game, balls dont get thrown out of bounds every other possession, dunkers dont get taken out of dunks by being breathed on… i could go on. I want real basketball and by that i mean a smooth game that lets me be elite at what i am good at and doesnt have a bunch of glitches and animations that are physically impossible. If people want to be dribblers then let them dribble just make it smooth. I think the new dribble engine is good and creates good transitions but it can still get better. 2k really just needs to work on the movement/speed/smoothness of the game and most people will be content. Hopefully all attributes work appropriately next year and arent useless. That is one of the only reasons there is a “meta” playstyle. Because a bunch of stuff just doesn’t work.
Speed, smoothness, logic/less rng, attributes being more useful. Fix these and the game will be good
If you are mad about a simulation basketball game trying to be realistic then there are plenty of arcade basketball games that are cheaper and let you play your way. Give them a try.

The problem is 2k’s advertisement is a simulation basketball game yet people are expecting arcade play styles and arcade stats! You CANNOT mix arcade with simulation it’s just a recipe for failure if it was truly arcade like then we would have dribble moves like the professor and hot sauce or be able to make a big ass dribble build like Escalade lol they have a failed simulation game with ARCADE cosmetics to cater to children lol 2k has just failed time and time again and they try to please everyone and that’s why they’re in the state they are

It does function as both; however, people have a hard time understanding that. Certain game modes are more Arcade style and some are Sim style. Problem is the arcade people come to the sim side complain they can’t do arcade and ruin the sim side. You don’t have many sim player engaging in the arcade portion of the game because it’s understood that it is not for them. Meanwhile arcade style player want their style to be everywhere.
This game isn’t even a product of simulated basketball tho. Nothing that you see in this game happens in real life. It’s just one big ass mess.

I was Sim and never hated the game more than 2k25. My favorites was 2k19 and 2k20 because there was so much variety in the game and it was effective players at every level with any build and play styles. The reason why I’m agreeing with this I can bring out a 62 center that has a lot of passion on it and try to try to play team ball get everybody involved and only thing they wanna do is dribble out the shot clock or just throw the game or great pass me the ball in the point guard is not passing. I shouldn’t have to be a point guard with a Sinner cause I like to grab board pass the ball out I’ll get my buckets when I can, but I love to get the team together, but I tell you this video is hitting all the right notes.❤ the community in this, should realize this and the community needs to wake up and quit blaming everybody for your mistakes that you do in the game. Nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope what we’re not gonna do is say the meta is completely determined by the devs. It is to an extent but in this game, in this community the meta is really what people find at first and stick with, not the “most effective tactics available”. People love to stick with the only animations that are seen in countless amounts of build videos and that’s because everybody is too lazy or busy to look up their own animations or stay in the lab looking for their own animations that work for them. People go in the lab to look for the most notorious gimmick animation and never go back in the lab until the next 2k. I was born at night not last night.

No the meta is not an excuse to not go your own path. Most people will follow the meta but if you’re gonna stand out with your content then why not make your own path? Is your content there to show your skill in the moment or could you do what you do against any meta in the game? Real skill is being good with your strat regardless of the current meta.

Why do people prefer dribble spam instead of actual calculated iso moves (real ball) , pin downs , flares , running sets . Most iso players spam the same dribble combo/ cheese or just pray whatever they’re doing works nothing is calculated. The players that do nothing but wager all day especially as a PG are primary playmakers and run that style of basketball. Iso and left right dribbling aren’t as effective as they use to be, those playstyles are severely nerfed. When money is on the line everything is calculated. Just because it doesn’t look like the mid 2000’s doesn’t mean it’s not real hoops.

Joe knows And that black market squad are really good at the game. And they win majority of their games so much people are scared to play them they're banned from tournaments. I think they're the most band group of 2K players ever. But at the end of the day he is the most innovative person on 2K cuz he finds a way to keep his style going every year. But his place out is heavenly based upon cheese. He has to have cheesy mechanics in order to do it. You cannot blame the devs and say “make a better game” when exploitable mechanics have nothing to do with the quality of the game.
