Holy shit you are awesome. This is free, real, academic information. Not only do you directly talk about opression [and even a hint of gender diversity], you actually act upon it by disponibilizing free knowledge. It's hard for me to buy books and nearly impossible to pay for a especialization right now so this kind of thing is very important.

I so appreciate all the energy and labor you have put into these lectures. They were helpful to be as a brand new grad student and continue to be enlightening as I progress as an associate clinician. This kind of access to information is invaluable in this space. Thank you 💛

Dr. Gehart, I was having a really hard time wrapping my head around Narrative Therapy, but this lecture really clarified it for me. Now I will be able to do my assignment pretty easily. Thanks!

As an instructor who uses your books, I find that these lecture videos are helpful for the students to watch and follow along in their books. After that, we do an hour break down of the information and some question-answer time. The students are really happy with the information they are receiving from my lectures, your lectures, the book, and added videos that I add to their modules. Thanks so much!

Dr. Gehert, thank you so much for the extra attention to diversity, gender, racial, and religious aspects in such detail, positivity, and consideration! After suggesting I enroll in an MFT program, my training supervisor suggested using your book as a reference. After reviewing the first few chapters, I use your book as the primary resource and the school texts books as a reference. Your YouTude lectures are succinct yet engaging! Again, thank you!!

All brilliant stuff Dr. G, and I love the narrative approach generally, mostly as stories are so central to our existence, and in what motivates us... as you know, of course - although this is so easy to forget when we get bogged down both as practitioners, and of course as clients.
The takeaway in this lecture, for me, was the 'Totalizing/Dualistic' section and developing a way of seeing the 'problem' in its broader context, which is a lovely idea.
This is particularly useful for me as I've just received the case of a parent, currently reticent about receiving support, and who has a big family. This parent seems so broken by the eldest's behaviour; a young person who, as she describes, 'doesn't listen to me or my family', so why would he listen to anyone else'.
I feel, if the client takes up the offer, I can do so much more with this concept of totalizing/dualizing - or not in this case - offering the client, and of course me, a way of reframing the problem, breaking away from her binary assumptions and judgements of 'good or bad', effective parent or shit parent, and to help explore some positives in her management of hers and her family's difficulties thus far, in her parenting journey.
    Thank you!

There seem to be several transitional slides that pop up for about 1 second and then disappear too quickly to be able to read them. For example: if you go to 14:25 minutes in, press play, and don't blink. It looks like there is a slide there, but it pops up and down to quickly to read it. From other videos of yours, I assume it is most likely supposed to read something like Making Connection: The Therapeutic Relationship. This sort of thing happens a few times in this video. Also, I second what another person who commented wrote... There are way too many commercial breaks. I assume that's a RUclips issue, but it's quite frustrating while trying to learn.
Other than those issues, great content! Thank you for sharing!

Those may just be the sub-section slides. I think RUclips changed the advertising settings since I published this years ago...so I will have to check on that.

Why is there an advertisement every minute or two? This is supposed to be educational, right? 6 advertisements in 16 minutes? Ridiculous!!!! I'll just download it off of youtube and watch without the advertisements. Thank you!
