Indiana loves John Mellencamp. ❤️. Thanks for making this video. I didn't know any of this stuff, now I do. Thank you for keeping it real.

Meedy Shields is in my family tree. His ancestor, James, and my ancestor , William, were from Antrim Ireland. During the invasion of Ireland by Cromwell they were rounded up and put on a slave ship to Barbados. Their brother Daniel died in battle in Ireland and youngest brother John, was hidden by their father William as long as possible.
James and William made their way from Barbados to Middle Plantation , which became Williamsburg . Their youngest brother , John would die at sea while on his way to the colonies with his family. John’s son William and his uncles James and William would have many famous relatives.
My William’s descendant, James Shields and wife Ann Marot Shields would own Shields Pub. Many connections in Williamsburg

Interestingly I live in Sevier County Tennessee and I'm from Indiana. Doing genealogy I've came across some of your information connected to my Line and Pearson family, who settled in Southern Indiana in the early 1800s.

This has been interesting to learn. One of my relatives has married a Shields girl. I've studied Tipton and Michigan State Road and the Indiana General Assembly because I live close to Michigan State Road and I thought it may have been originally placed some few hundred feet to the west of where it passes my home.

What was the name of the hotel that was located at the southwest corner of Indianapolis Avenue and St. Louis Avenue (Now a vacant lot, I think)?

Best known as the Walton Hotel. It was built in the 1870s as Hotel Jonas.
