Thank you so much for trusting me with your request, and for being sweet and patient all the way through, I hope the wait was worth it. In some ways, this video almost feels self-indulgent, while editing it I ended up doing a bit of a A:TLA rewatch and it reaaally brought back a lot of feelings of attachment I have for the characters, especially for my childhoold parents, kataang.
I loved them so very much growing up, and till this day they are a comfort ship to me. This song is sweet and melancholy with a lot of water references, so it was a nice experience to edit them to it, it's the first time I ever did something about this show, and I do hope you enjoy it!

In fact, she's actually the one who confessed first, in S2 E1 (The Avatar State) Katara says "I'm not saying that the Avatar State doesn't have incredible and helpful power, but you have to understand: *for the people who love you* , it's really scary seeing you in that much pain and anger".

1:30 - 1:32 is why i prefer them to that which must not be named. i love a good redemption story like zuko's but aang and katara had each other's back right from the start, even when they didn't even know each other. beautiful work.
This edit is wholesome and it reminds me of the good old 2015 edits
The Scenes prove why Kataang is a better ship than Zutara, because it shows something that the latter doesn't have: Chemistry, Aang and Katara had each other's back since the beginning, for example, when Aang was so upset about losing Appa to Sandbenders, she calmed him down, when Katara tried to kill Yon Rha, Aang tried to empathise with her and convince her that by killing someone who murdered your mother, you get nothing but corruption (Something that people whine about a lot, despite murder being against the law), for people who say Katara didn't love Aang, a ton of Season 3 moments disapprove of this, In The Awakening, Katara gives Aang a lot of Affection because he was alive after his death in Ba Sing Se, and Aang doesn't reciprocate because he is depressed about failing the people of Ba Sing Se and feels incredibly awful because he is the Avatar and feels that it's his responsibility to take the blame, later when the Gaang find Aang in an Island, Katara is the first person to get hug Aang and she does it so passionately saying "You're Okay!" Which was very cute for me, In The Headband Katara feels envy for On Ji for dancing with Aang, saying "If That's What You Like." When Aang comes to her and asks her to Dance she shyly tries to convince him to with reverse psychology, when Aang says "Take my Hand." She's convinced and both share a very satisfying dance sequence. In The Painted Lady, Aang tells Katara (disguised as The Titular Painted Lady) That She's really pretty for a Spirit and responds with a Thank You, She later asks Aang to help her with the Factory Problem, In Nightmares and Daydreams Katara encourages Aang to go to Sleep when he's so Edgy about Fighting Ozai to the point where he gets Insomnia, In Day of Black Sun, Katara tells Aang That she's very proud of Aang for all his development, when Aang Kisses her she kisses back and blushes, later in that same episode Aang feels disappointed about the Invasion Plan failing and feels that he should take full responsibility for it, but Katara empathises with him by getting close to him with a smile on her face telling him look on the bright side, In The Western Air Temple She Gives Zuko a Death Threat over Aang's life and safety, In The Southern Raiders (An episode I already mentioned) Katara thanks Aang for understanding her pain, and he let's her use Appa to find Yon Rha and confront him, She later spares Yon Rha instead of killing him on her own volition, not Aang's, meaning she cared about his input. In The Ember Island Players (Which contains possibly the lowest point for Kataang) When Aang says that Katara never looked at him more than just a brother, She refuses to Accept that fact, and tells him that there's a war going on, implying she was confused about the Timing, not her feelings for Aang, She already saw him die and doesn't want that to happen again. (And yes The kiss scene was pretty bad honestly, but to be fair, Aang didn't mean any harm) In Sozin's Comet She's the first person to support him when he felt worried about facing Ozai, she's also the only one who empathises with him instead of laughing at how ridiculous his Idea of Gluebending is, because she is worried for him, She later empathises with him about killing Ozai which he does not like, She also says that Aang has to come back like she were worried about losing him again, this all makes the final kiss feel like a satisfying pay-off to a bond that started out as friends with mutual respect for each other and was meant to be.

I'm a twenty-nine year old who just recently watched this show for the first time, and honestly, i don't care, i love them so much 💗!! .
Aang wakes up in a world divided by war. His culture has all but been eradicated and the weight of the world is left on his shoulders. It's a massive burden and even with Katara and Sokka's help, mastering the elements and defeating the Fire Lord is no small task.
Aang and Katara always had a bond. That bond gets stronger as time goes on and eventually evolves into mutually romantic feelings. Love like that would never survive wartime. Their love, strong as it was, would've been squashed by the cruel nature of a world under the Fire Nation's thumb. Aang also has a destiny that he must focus on and divert all his energy to. He can't afford to be distracted from that mission. Katara knew that.
Their romance only begins at the end of Fire Lord Ozai's reign. The war is over and an era of peace and kindness has come to replace it. It's an era where love can bloom and grow and flourish. Aang is finally free of his crushing burden and he and Katara are allowed to live without the constant threat of impending doom.

And the song! I agree with you that it’s sweet and melancholy. A month ago, I had the song stuck in my head for a while and out of nowhere I thought it would be perfect for Kataang but I wasn’t 100% sure. To be honest, I was a little nervous about this before, thinking it wouldn’t work but now after watching the video, I’m emotional. The song matches them and I’m glad that the people here in the comment section agrees.
My favourite 0:57-1:06 , that transition 1:32-1:34 and definitely 1:58-2:02. I liked the scenes you used for the climatic part of the song.
