For years I was a Steve Perry fan. Then after he quit I thought I would never find another voice that touched my soul like he did. But God is gracious and sent Teddy to me and the world. The sound of Teddy’s voice is balm for my tired spirit. I am old and afflicted now. Every time I play this song on my piano along with this video, I can feel every chord with all its sadness and struggle to get relief from a broken heart searching for closure. As a musician, this song is so satisfying. But without Teddy singing the verses it only sounds like some beautiful melody. Teddy, your are the life of the melody! Love your music Man. "Don't judge a book by it's cover" couldn't be more accurate here. If you just saw this guy without knowing his music you wouldn't expect to hear the kind of soulfulness that emanates from his singing.

The singing is one thing, but the sparkle in the eyes, the shaking of the body, the gaze upward, the furrowed brow, the facial expressions that shift with sorrow, gripping the microphone stand, the quivering voice, the head shaking, the averted gaze. All these little things highlight the beautiful singing in such a flattering way. It touches me so much that tears come to my eyes. I want to see and sing along live. I feel it so deeply.

My first was “I can’t make you love me” I had it on you tube and literally my jaw was on my chest the whole song. Still hurts. THAT sound is NOT coming from that body?!!! Then I see the one and he is eating chips, do rag around his head, long hair, shaved sides, with a trench coat. 😳😳😳 What the???? I was hooked 3 years ago. He just keeps getting better. Me and my sister both distanced ourselves a lot from our parents and went on to lead our own lives during our early 20s but now at this point (nearly 40 now) we have an excellent relationship within our immediately family, we see eachother all the time and its always a blast. Hopefully thats what happens in your situation too.
