Saurabh is a rarest of communicators. He can make the toughest subjects look so routine.
My best wishes for ONDC. If it succeeds, it will be show the way to a whole bunch of countries on how to tackle the Amazon monopoly.

Nothing can be done without political and governmental will to try out the unconventional methods as a lot of stuff has been blocked by the governments before just to be safe and to enjoy power.
They made fun of digital payments also. Still making fun of make in India. In the end they become laughing stocks.

Demonetisation had two purposes. One failed and one worked. It has been good in the long run I believe.

Great discussion. Mr. Mukherjea explains the concepts very well. Mr. Nilekani and his team have/will played a great part in Indias progress. If India does manage to fulfil its potential, lot of credit should go to Mr. Nilekani and his team, not just the politicians at the helm.

The digitalisation is a facilitated by Congress introduced AADHAAR card. No one gives credit of digital economy to Congress.

As an engineer from Bangalore, the phrase "India tech" gives me goosebumps now. We need to stack up more such amazing inventions built to further India's peoples.
I'm glad my city is leading the way.
The key point that was missed in the conversation was that none of these were technological innovations. We could have done these things in 2004 also. These were policy innovations and I find it funny both the speakers couldn't acknowledge the leadership. Every user of these digital public goods knows who got it done.

It was very good until last few minutes when you gave incorrect statistics about lifespan of Americans . People are living longer than ever before , lifespan in US has increased about 10 years during that period . In most countries net worth of top 1 percent will be worth more than bottom 30 percent . In United States top 1 percent have 16 times more wealth than bottom 50 percent and in India top 1 percent own 96 times more than bottom 50 percent according to Hindustan Times . India is much worse . It is true that middle class in the United States has not gained much since 1990 when top 1 percent owned only 6 times more than bottom 50 percent . This wealth gap was increased due to globalization and middle class paid the price due to deindustrialization in the United States . Now deglobalization taking place and wealth gap between top 1% and bottom 50% will likely decreased in the United States .

In coffee can Saurabh argued that all good companies consolidate market share and are more likely to evolve into monopolies in India. He is now defending ondc decentralisation using an opposing view. Ondc can never be democratic, decentralised, big players with deep pockets will always have competitive advantage.
The idea is to democratize the platform...having a competetive or any other. Form of advantage has noting to do to with the idea..what do u expect if i have created an exge for me do u expect me NOT to use it in my favour in the field where it's relevant..what a malarkey
