The pro-sheep monologue at the start was perfection 😂 If anyone ever needs a reference, THAT is irony.
I smiled when she was talking about the hope that there is a sheep in it.
top comment🤣🤣
I was literally making such an evil smile 😏😈
We've come a long way in sheep representation but they still mostly play villains
All I could think of as Jax said this was "Oh, this may not go well."
... and 35:57 came and I thought "She handled that better then I expected".
Less than a minute in and I'm already wondering how she's gonna justify the climax...feel like this one could be a big step in Jax's villain origin story.
36:25 I FREAKIN' KNEW IT!!!
Were you expecting that heel turn? I sure as hell wasn't lol
@@janekotoole8751lol
I was thinking the same thing while trying to stifle my laughter from just erupting from my mouth. Lol.
Great call! :D
"I hope that there will be a sheep in this movie" last famous word
I came here for lamby's reaction and I was not disappointed.
I like how her smile suddenly became sinister after the reveal.
Hopps only knew Nighthowlers by their scientific name (see the scene where Bogo is berating her for the bag of "moldy onions"), and that they were used as pest repellent for her farm. She didn't know their colloquial name, or their side-effects!
Oooh! That makes sense ❤️
@@reactswithjaxHello. I love watching your videos so much. I don't know do you watch cartoon series, like Avatar the last airbender. But I have a video request from you. Please start watching the Ben 10 Classic 2005 cartoon series. This series a perfect series. I beg you.
33:22 Emmett knew! He’s a florist, so he would have known about the flowers, which is why he kept mentioning it when he attacked the driver.
I've seen reactors not understand that Judy _wasn't_ just telling the facts of the case there. She knew what was happening and _that_ they were predators, everything else was her falling victim to what she's heard and her prejudices.
Also, got nervous when she started googling the villain without knowing it.
Fun Fact: Otters are actually very social animals and prefer to sleep in groups so they hold hands to keep each other safe and to make sure no one gets lost or left behind.
That is so cute! Now I need to spend the next few hours watching videos of otters holding hands on RUclips. ❤️
@@reactswithjax that is very cute, and if you want to not ruin your image of otters... id avoid learning more about them and just enjoy the cuteness xD
as with most aspects of nature, their cuteness stops real quick when you learn the truth of it.
@@reactswithjax But Otters are also maybe one of the only Species (beside humans) who are raping their females. They are social yet also asocial. Nevertheless that was the best reaction for Zootopia (and I am one of that old guys who say that not everyone can be everything). I still think that Kids shall have their dreams though, because why not ? 🙂
@@Ezekielepharcelis Otters aren't a rarity with this kind of behavior, other examples would be dolphins or sea lions (sea lions even take advantage of other species). Water dwelling mamals actually can be pretty desgusting when it comes down to this kind of stuff.
And yes, this is one of the best zootopia reactions out their. Revenge for the floof.
@@Techn0magier good to know !
Lamby was shocked to see cousin being a villian in this movie!😅😅
"Oh my gosh...the sheep...are the villains 😮...ok, I'm not mad about that 😇😇"
You're adorable 😂
Haha! Thank you! ♥️🥳
It makes sense that there are different tasers for different species as the amount of electricity you'd need to stop a bear is drastically different than the amount you need to stop a fox.
Judy letting just a smidge of that racism out through the whole movie was perfect, just because she herself experiences bigotry doesnt mean she is immune to being one herself.
i believe the main reason Judy didn't think about the flowers because her parents never called them that.
Oh, good point!
Jax's laugh when recontextualized as joy for the villainous sheep is surprisingly close to the classic villain laugh 🤔. I have new-found fear and respect for you, Jax, First of Her Name, Lamb(y) Mother, Keeper of Sheep.
Hahahaha....or should I say, "Bwahahahaha!" I have to perfect my villain laugh for when the sheep rise up again and become our overlords.
I still remember your initial horror when the dragons snatched the sheep in HTTYD1. A well-honed villain laugh will certainly be earned if you can pull it off 😂. Good luck!
In the meantime, here are some supervillian duo name suggestions:
- Lord Lamby
- Lamby the Livid
- Lamby the Long-suffering
...and...
- the Scarlet Shepherdess
- the Scarred Sheperdess
- the Seductive Sheperdess
- the Slighted Sheperdess
- the Shrewd Sheperdess
- Jax the Jester
(Obviously, Lamby will be the senior member of this partnership)

@@reactswithjaxor should you say, "Baaaaaahahahaha"?
Why would you need a specisl apparatus to shrink a sheep? Judt put it in a hot bath and swish it around a few times. They're made of wool.
I just wanted to see your reaction to finding out the sheep are the villains 🤣 🤣 🤣 You never disappoint 😆😂🤣
Since you were wondering throughout the movie, the herbivores eat what they usually would, vegetables, fruits, grasses, things like that. The predators only eat fish, since fish and insects haven't 'evolved' yet. There is a Zootopia 2 currently in the works at Disney, where I hope we'll get to see how birds and reptiles fit into the equation.
I'm so excited to see the sequel! It will be awesome to see how they expand this world. ❤️
I’m really interested to see if they’ll include birds! I’d love that.
Reptiles, amphibians, fish and invertebrates aren’t that smart, but birds compete with mammals, so it would make sense that they evolved as much as mammals did
also most animals, or at least mammals, are actually _technicallyyy_ omnivorous. their primary diet is whatever they're classified as of course (in the case of herbivores/carnivores) because that's where they get the bulk of their nutrients, but by technically omnivorous i mean most animals do not 100% strictly eat within their classification. deers, horses, etc occasionally eat meat, whether it be killing and eating birds, snakes, or being straight up fed meat by humans. wolves, birds of prey, bears, alligators, etc sometimes eat grass and fruit (by choice and when fed it). so i assume when it comes to zootopia, those traits took over, and they eat fruits and veggies just like the herbivores, perhaps supplementing their meat needs with fish, since it doesn't seem the fish are sentient in this universe. one of the shows that goes deeper into an all-animal world and the food chain like this is Beastars (both the anime and the manga). highly recommend it, the world building is fantastic, very intriguing.
You asked why the ram could run faster than a fox. The reason is that Nick was carrying the wounded Judy.
That's a good point!
15:50 "Sounds like a ewe problem." Wow, you called it!
We have three small dogs. When we watched this, the wolf that started a howl on screen also started one in our living room. They are not that easy to stop.
😂
I couldn’t have clicked this video any faster! 🤩 Your reaction to this was SO ENJOYABLE. I’ve been smiling ear to ear the entire time 😅. Such a beautifully told story and well done film. And YES Zooptopia 2 is already in the works. Can’t wait 🙌🏾 ⚡️
THANK YOU!!! I'm so glad you liked this! This movie was so fun and the sheep finally get their long overdue revenge! I'm looking forward to seeing the second one. ❤️🐑
there is a fan made sequal on youtube, lower quality animation etc but it exists if you can't wait for the official sequal
A great point people have brought up about the bully fox: the language he uses to describe his behavior as a youth follow common psychology language, suggesting he went to therapy to overcome
Actually confirmed by the movie director.
27:30 This part had me DEAD! I knew this was gonna get you I had the same reaction like a full blown tiger jumpscare came out of NOWHERE!!! 😂😱🐅
Mayor Bellwether out here getting revenge for all her people in all the other franchises lol 😂
Yes she is!!
So a little fun fact: Shakira did the Super Bowl halftime show with JLo several years back. One of her outfits was inspired by Gazelle, the character she plays from Zootopia.
I'll add another one. Shakira is famous for not wearing shoes on stage. In the movie Gazelle is one of very few (if not the only one) characters shoes.
Also, they wanted Gazelle to be played by Adelle, but it didn't work out.
Otters do this thing where they smash open clams to eat them. Sometimes they even float on their back, put the clam on their tummy, and use a small rock to smash it open. Definitely a Predator.
Duke Weaselton was voiced by Alan Tudyk, who voiced The Duke of Weselton in Frozen! :D
I love your videos! :)
Thank you for the many hours of entertainment and joy...
That is so cool!! ❤️ I'm so glad you enjoyed this. Tha ks for watching!!
There are so many great things about this movie. From the story and the underlying message, to the music and animation (fun fact: they created and animated over 50 different types of fur), to the DMV scene which is pure cinema gold.
Your reactions to beautiful and on point to the number of great scenes in the movie. Thank you.
WOW! 50 different types of fur?! Well, it all looked beautiful on screen. Thank you so much for watching! ❤️🐑
I was almost afraid you wouldn't like the reveal. But winning cures everything. Because this was a great movie that set up everything so well, you were cool with the sheep being revealed to be the villains. This was fun to see your opinion as a lover of sheep.
That Sloth scene is my favourite in any animated movie ever !😂
It's incredible!!
41:31 If you think about it the sloth couldn’t get off the gas pedal fast enough to use the brakes
Wow never thought about that and no one else has mentioned it.
Perfect explanation and an alibis for court.
Actually, some species of sloths can move extremely quickly when they want.
the whole sheep appreciation at the start made me feel really bad for you 😭 i was waiting to see your reaction
As soon as I heard the little talk about sheeps at the very beginning... I immediately knew this was going to be good.
Fun fact: The moose anchorman near the end was Peter Moosebridge. He was played by Canadian newscaster Peter Mansbridge
That's awesome!
While his cohost changes depending on the country where the movie is shown.
Jason Bateman did an amazing job as the Fox character (I can't remember his name). Btw, you should check out Coraline. It's an amazing stop-motion animated film from the man behind The Nightmare before Christmas.
Everything Laika does is wonder.
Nick Wilde.
The level of Irony on this…
Such a positive monologue towards sheep at the start is amazing😅
I'm so excited to see your reaction to this movie! I was really shock by just how much I really enjoyed it (though the "calling a bunny cute" bit was a bit too much for me, but, hey, it's Disney...) Every trip I've ever made to the DMV, I now realize that the employees WERE sloths! And the opening, from Judy's acting to the little critter playing the musical instruments was hillarious! I can't wait to watch it with you!
"can the sheep get a win for once?" Muwahahahahahah! 😏
The sheep will rise up again! The cloud puffs will get their revenge!
I clicked on this video with optimism. But then I remembered the sheep, and I got even more excited.
Hahahaha! The sheep are the true stars! They will get their revenge...
@@reactswithjax I mean, unless they sheer themselves before battle they are just going to be at a laughable disadvantage when it comes to anything dealing with fire. I am not worried.
A cute easter egg in the film: The Ram Doug making the serum in the rail car makes mention of his partners "Jessie" and "Walter" returning while he's on the phone. A very tongue-in-cheek reference to Breaking Baa-ad.
Considering how popular Zootopia was it's strange that they haven't made a sequel yet. But it was announced in October this year that they're finally working on it.
That's so cool that they are working on a sequel! I can't wait to see it!
@@reactswithjax I wonder what they'll make the story about? I mean there's so much in this universe that you can make a story out of, with each animal having their own lifestyle. Not to mention the different living districts.
Good things come to those who wait.
Better to take a bit longer to make a better movie.
@@surfersilver6610 They haven't started to work on the script until now. It probably won't be out until 2026.
it's normal for new cops to get ticket duty so they have a chance to learn the city's layouts so what bogo did wasn't a bad thing
You completely missed out on the Frozen reference when Chief Bogo says “Life isn’t an insipid musical… so .. Let it go”.
Oooh! Thanks for pointing that out! 😂
Flash the Sloth gets me cracking up every time. It never gets old
Yes! He's such an awesome character. The DMV scene is pure genius and then the reveal with him at the end is perfect! ❤️🐑
And never speeds up or slows down.
The trailer with that scene alone got me to see the movie.
The sloth scene amuses me.
Lammy is becoming quite the cultured little chap.
He is indeed!
Just Incase you didn't know, Mr. Big and the whole crime boss mafia thing is a reference to The godfather, if you haven't seen it yet, you should, it's one of the greatest movies of all time.
My favorite a capella group, Home Free, did an excellent cover of the song "Try Everything" from this movie. I highly recommend it. The high tenor, Austin Brown, even wears a lion tanktop in honor of the movie. 😃❤️👍🏼
Your videos feel so much like a warm hug 💗 Love your jumper! 💞 Thank you for the amazing video as always 😃
Whenever the movie is mean to lambs in my mind I say "we ride at dawn" haha, I personally would love to live in the grassy fields where Judy is from :)
I have the answer to your question about the animals and what they eat. In Zootopia the only higher life forms are the mammals. That's why the word 'mammal' is used in place of 'human' or 'person.' So other animals like fish and insects exist, but they are still lower life forms and can be eaten. Meanwhile, most or all prey are herbivores.
Zootopia is such a brilliant movie on so many levels.
Being from Quebec and in full winter mode already, 12 inches of snow so far....would chose the cold climate...i love it...and sometimes..would travel to rain forest...but i need my winter...mountains and such..great react as always..
In this universe, its not that "animals" are sentient, but rather that *mammals* are. So fish, birds, bugs, etc. are still food.
Oh, I didn't notice that it was only the mammals. Good catch!
Another fun thing in the movie is their specific selection of mammals. Since humans don’t exist, you don’t see domesticated species like dogs and house cats (the pigs do look like their domesticated selves, but I think that was for the sake of visual clarity than anything). It’s also why you don’t see primates in the movie either.
This definitely is the best, most hilarious reaction to Zootopia I've ever seen and I don't think anyone is going to beat you (and boy, I've seen pleeenty of them). It was as funny as the movie itself. And don't worry about the jumpscares, I had to watch Zootopia at least 10 times if not more to be really prepared to that scene. Now imagine watching it in a 3D movie theater (there are a few scenes clearly to have the effect in 3D primarily but I imagine this particular one probably jump-scares the entire audience).
In one of other comments I've already suggested you bo react to Bolt if you haven't already. I would also add to the list movies Encanto (you are going to love it, no sheep though) and Luca (same).
It's amazing to see how far Disney has fallen. Hopefully, they remember to start making films for families to enjoy before it's too late.
The sloth scene (forget the name) is absolutely hilarious and so clever!
I think their newest animated original "Wish" might be a step in the right direction because that movie was really nice and it just seems like Disney is better when they make original animated stories rather than constant live-action remakes
Fun little easter egg. In this movie, the weasle says he's from Weasletown after Judy pronounces it Wesselton. In Frozen, the Duke gets told Arendelle will longer do business with the kingdom of Weasletown and he corrects the person and says Wesselton.
And, to fully appreciate, both characters are voiced by Alan Tudyk
@@ister2507 that's even better!
There is a Zootopia+ (it's side stories that are within the film. Save Flash's story for last -- it's the best one)
When it came to the news anchors, there were different animals reporting the news, depending on which country you were watching the film.
In the original premise for Zootopia, predators had to wear shock collars. That was Zootopia's solution to keep prey safe from predators. You can find animatics on RUclips of the original story. Prey tend to treat predators pretty badly, knowing that any aggression on the predators' part sets off their collar. After having his collar temporarily removed at the doctor's office, Nick tries to set up an area where predators can temporarily remove their collars. The concept was scrapped as being too dark for a children's animation.
"What do they (predators) eat?"... good question, makes you wonder if they had their own version of Soylent Green O.O
:D
Zootopia part 2 plot?🤔
u just knew jax was gonna love this! zootopia is a very clever story and well animated ... the dmv scene is golden
With you loving sheep, here's a movie I highly recommend, if you haven't already seen it that is. The movie in question is 'Farmageddon' with Shawn the Sheep in it. It maybe aimed at children, but it's still a fun movie.
Thank you so much!! That sounds awesome!
If you notice, all of the human-like animals in this movie are mammals, so it's fair to assume that fish, insects, reptiles, birds and such are all still regular non-humanoid animals and thus fair game as food for the predators
(also, I hope you noticed the joke towards the end of the movie when Chief Bogo was giving each team their mission for the day, the team he send on an undercover mission had a wolf in it that promptly put on a sheep-disguise XD wolf in sheep's clothing)
Such a great movie!!!
sloth scene at the DMV scene at 17:40 is hilarious
If I had to pick one it would the hot climate. Humidity sucks and it's no fun to exercise in cold. But I can go out at night when it's cool in the desert.
Oh! That's a great answer and I love how you thought it out!
I'd imagine tazers aren't one size fits all. Different body sizes would require different voltages, right? So a fox tazer is probably inadequate when handling a bear.
Very true! Good point.
I’m glad you enjoyed this movie even after discovering a sheep like Bellwether was a villain. Anyway, like you, I would go 10/10, and love this movie too. I felt like there’s something to love about every character, especially Judy, and Nick, and how much growth there is to the characters. I also loved how humble Judy was, and how she decided not to be part of ZPD for a hike after realizing the mistake she did. And yeah, awesome score, and animation too! Well, thanks again!
6:24 I'm pretty sure the taser that would take down a bear would fry a fox - So yeah they would have to come with a number of different settings if not in different models
Amazing and delightful reaction! One of my favorite movies!
Oh, I forgot to mention:
21:26 The reason an arctic shrew is a mafia boss is because the shrews are feracious predators that need to eat daily more meat than their weight is (I believe in the extras it was mentioned they need to eat triple the weight). So it makes sense to be the biggest mafia boss in the animal world.
Lowkey I thought she was gonna be really upset that the sheep was the villain but instead it was complete opposite and was even on board with the villain plot hilarious 😂
Great reaction Jax! Looks like you and lamby enjoyed it! Such a cute movie and loved the jump scare! Haha😂 We all know the sheep were the stars of this movie!😁. Lol Thanks and look forward to seeing the next movie reaction. Luv ya Jax ❤💛
Fun fact, sheep are known to eat baby birds on occasion.
I did not know that! 🤯
Сцена с боссом мафии - это практически прямая ссылка на фильм Крестный отец, где тоже целуют руку и у дочери свадьба.
I love when the fox comes back in the end and he really is just a good dude. He just used to be a bad kid.
One of the most clever animated movies that is entertaining for all. Judy and Nick are also one the best couples in any movie or show because they have that perfect chemistry of having similar personalities bringing out best in each other.
You are such a bubbly personality it was a pleasure to watch your reaction! :)
Thank you so much!! ❤️
I can't believe I never thought about how much you totally need to watch this movie. You and Senior Lambert who's a mastermind if I ever saw one. This was so great!
Insects didn't get there own section of Zootopia because insects are EVERYWHERE and can call anywhere their own.
Love this movie!
If they ever do make a Zootopia 2, I'll be supremely disappointed if it's not called Zoo2pia.
Ooh! That's a perfect name for it! ❤️
I really enjoyed your reactions!!!!!
41:40 is the perfect thumbnail for this reaction
"I hope the sheep are treated better in this movie."
Oh. Oh no... XD
Oh no is right! The sheep deserve respect! 😂
Random thought: Maybe the animal specific tazers is because of how strong they are, so a tazer for a fox would have much less shock in it compared to one that would be for a bear or giraffe🤔
Zootopia Land in Shanghai Disneyland just opened up and it's pretty sweet. Seen a bunch of videos of it already.
14:50
Not mouse, she is a Shrew
This is and will always be my Disney movie and I am very much of the group of people who want Nick and Judy to become more than just friends.😊
Emmett is a throwback to an HBO muppet Christmas special. Look up Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas.
I love the breaking bad references at 35:08 :D So good..
Too bad she didn’t include the reference to Walter and Jesse’s names 😅 hope she got it 🤞
Thank you for your reaction! awesome. As a sheep enthusiast I would recommend a New Zealand film for you "Black Sheep" 2006. Also a great movie I seen recently which is an Australian remake of an Icelandic movie "Rams" 2020.
Thank you so much for the recommendations! ❤️
Excellent reaction. Thank you.
I love the little guy doing all the music and sound effects for the play.
He is an underrated hero! What a champ.
I respect that you were ride or die with the sheep.
You should definitely watch Cats Don't Dance. It's one of the greatest animated movies that isn't appreciated enough today. It touches on similar themes to Zootopia, but it's supposed to be set around the 1930's, not that I realized that as a kid. It's got amazing musical numbers and a fun cast of anthropomorphic animals with amazing voice work. It stars Scott Bakula as Danny, a cat from Kokomo, Indiana who leaves his home town to pursue a career in Hollywood, with nothing but his hopes and dreams. The beginning of Zootopia reminded me SO much of Cats Don't Dance. To this day, I credit this film as the formative inspiration for my love of classic musical films like Singin' in the Rain. It defined my entire taste in music, really.
Judy's neighbors, bucky and pronk oryx-antlerson are the FIRST canon married gay couple in a disney movie.
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
The best smile and giggle on RUclips.
Thank you!! ❤️🐑
This is in my top 5 favorite animated movies
It's so fantastic! ❤️🐑
@reactswithjax It's really good and the casting is really good as well.
Jax you are just the most adorable thing how you got so scared your headphone came out 😅
Fur goodness sake. That new mayor pulled the wool over everyone's eyes.
I watched the original trailer in a theater and laughed hysterically at the sloth scene. I have experienced that scenario a 1000 times in my life. I saw the movie 5 years later and wondered why I haven’t watched this sooner. Great movie. Great reaction.
Bellwether is absolutely a villain, mistreated or not. But that’s the great thing about entertainment - you can support whoever you want regardless of their morality.
And I have to say, your hair looks great.
