This was one the earliest Saturn games I had, and I loved playing it back then. Since it also had two player battles it got a little more playtime than Daytona did.
I remember reading a review for this in a UK video games magazine, they thought the title was hilarious as it implies chasing around old women for fun.
I got this game along with a Saturn I rented in... well, I guess 1995. I remember REALLY liking it. The music in the American version, especially was PERFECT for 1995. It really felt like it was channeling the spirit of Fzero in all the right ways. Both games (the only Fzero was the one on the SNES at the time) featured unorthodox music like jazz, metal, and pop instead of the typical "racing" music that most games have. It really helped to create an atmosphere for the games. Every once in a while I contemplate buying a Saturn just to play this game and a few others.
Wow, I actually have this game. Its still in my closet. The good thing about Sega Saturn games is that you can simply pop the game into any CD player and you automatically have the game's OST.
I'm sure many Saturn fans know about this title. It was featured on some of the demo discs you got with the later saturns. I thought it was cool, but yeah, the graphics were pretty muddy even back in the day. HAHA the WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!! Goes off each and every time an enemy lobs a missile at you.. After a while, I wish it would just say "Warning Infinity"
I remenber borrowing this game from a friend in 1996 I loved it to death. Finally bought it last year after so many years of not playing it and it did feel quite dated and not as exciting as it used to be. The music still rocks though, from the video it seems like the Japanese version has a fferent soundtrack, cyber speedway has an awesome rock 'n roll soundtrack.
I love that weird alien thing at the beginning! lol.... and the super-cheese cut-scenes, the made up story is hilarious. The game doesn't look too bad, though.
@TheGenesisfan93 your internet connection is slow so it take time to load vids ... thats why when you press pause it work ... it gives the vids time to load
@classof77 lol, I always wondered why it's so hard for someone to learn at least a dozen english words and pronounce them properly... he actually says "let's go away" instead of "we're gonna win", but then again it sounds like he's screaming Day-Bone-A anyway... it's not like the words make sense... "I wanna fry-y-y sky high... it's go-o-o-one to get bah"? Like really, what the hell is he singing in Blue Skies anyway?
Hey the same thing happened to a couple of guys in the army i was with they got dui's and and tried to out race the cops becasue they didnt have money for thier legal fee's.
I expect most games released these days aren't going to age well either... Mainstream games like CoD and stuff. Seriously, can you imagine yourself two decades ahead, picking up any mainstream game released these days to play? Well I don't.
Oh looks like on this version your missing out on the custom US sound track by the "Bygone Dogs". Never heard of them? I'm not surprised. Imagine playing this game listening to Country / Bluesy rock. Yeeee HAAWWW!
Mark your voice is soothing like a reviews voice should b. The other guys voice doing some of these reviews makes me feel like I’m being nagged as by a 12 year old.
@jordanv78 hmm, i think thay are pretty iffy. even for the time they were made. i guess as long as they drive the point home they arent at all that bad...just blockier than i think they could have been
@skittnazzz theyve been thinking that for decades....itll never happen, just as well, i dont trust that most people have the common sence to use a flying/hovering vehicle for home use...some people struggle with normal cars >_>
OY! Why didn't he mention F-Zero?! I know he doesn't like the N64, but come on! That's no excuse to exclude a game of the same genre from the same time period! Especially since it was so much better than this game...
What makes no sense about fifth generation consoles is that even 2d images are a garbled mess of pixels. Why? How? It's not even being scaled. It's just a static image. But it's a total mess! WHY?!?!
Ah my first Saturn game literally- left a bad taste in my mouth. As kid I NEEDED MK Trilogy, and at time it was only on PS1 (Saturn got it over year later I believe...not to mention 100 other great games on PS1 I would have to wait over a year to get). So one day in Trumbull Mall in CT, was it Electronic Botique? Some doofus employee who probably needed to get rid of Saturns, convinced my ignorant mom and stepdad that PS1s were "catching fire" and Saturn was a better built and safer alternative, what a dipshit! So I left with a Saturn mk 1. I love Saturn now as an adult, but was a disgruntled kid for a very long time treated to this soundtrack of "whyyyyy wont ya give me my supper!"

Dude you should totally buy a Saturn
You can save a fortune on money by just playing burned discs or going to Etsy and buying them with custom artwork

Mohammad from Qatar is a Shiek that has 3 copies of every game ever created. Even Tetris on the Sega Genesis!!!!
Jk there's only 1 copy of tetris on the genesis.
i like this game still today, this was my 3th game on my Grey Japan sega Saturn back in 1994...
one of your best reviews mark!

@Bdizz2012
A quadrilateral is a polygon with four sides.
This game reminds me of the first wipeout to playstaton.
I love that weird alien thing at the beginning! lol.... and the super-cheese cut-scenes, the made up story is hilarious. The game doesn't look too bad, though.
The music was changed in the USA version for the racing scenes
@Bdizz2012 Well, quadrilateral polygons AND awesome polygons.
"Am I being warned about something I'm not too sure(!)"
reminds me of Extreme G
also has anyone heard of a game called Tube i used to play it on windows 3.1
this game looks extremely crisp for a saturn game
Reminds me of an early early version of Extreme-G for N64
mad skillz bro.
throwin down
@TheGenesisfan93 your internet connection is slow so it take time to load vids ... thats why when you press pause it work ... it gives the vids time to load

Wipeout for Sega Saturn was amazing!
@classof77 lol, I always wondered why it's so hard for someone to learn at least a dozen english words and pronounce them properly... he actually says "let's go away" instead of "we're gonna win", but then again it sounds like he's screaming Day-Bone-A anyway... it's not like the words make sense... Seriously, can you imagine yourself two decades ahead, picking up any mainstream game released these days to play? Well I don't.
Hmm... I don't know which one is better: Wip3out or Wipeout HD and Fury.

Is it on Vectrex Virtual Console?
This game looks pretty cool.
"But it does have green alien women. Always a good thing."
True! =D
Try WipEout HD if you want a futuristic racer :D
@clouds5 heheh would look like one small square or one giant pixel :D
Oh looks like on this version your missing out on the custom US sound track by the "Bygone Dogs". Never heard of them? I'm not surprised. Imagine playing this game listening to Country / Bluesy rock. Yeeee HAAWWW!
I'm going to get one of thoose cocktails
It's like a 1995 Star Wars Pod-racer.
I remember picking up a PSx first wave flight game that had graphics pop up issues a hundred times worse then this one.
@Yazoku most likely, and this game in turn probably got ideas from stun runner
they probably thought "oh in 2010 wer gonna drive around in exactly what we made in this game!"
uploadd 16 hours ago and already 2,515 views and lots of comments?! CGR is really getting popular. =D
Damn Mohammed in Quatar has a lot of spare games to donate!
@TheGenesisfan93 its a smiley face to compensate my mood
