      Sorry, just saw this comment. A basic wrap on a car this will run about $3K at a good shop around here. Then, it goes up from there. When you add other things like graphics, higher quality wrap material, extra accessories, etc. things will start to add up quick. Just be careful who you take it to because in most cases, having someone do it in their backyard can do it for like $500, but the install quality may not last like a good shop. You may find a shop that does it cheaper and still delivers on the install too. It's like finding the perfect paint shop guy. Since this was my second Camaro that I had a custom wrap on, I had an idea on what to expect, so I did a ton more all at the same time rather than pay a premium on getting a couple things done at a time. Hope this helps.

    that brush going into them amazing black rims made me nervous....it wont scratch????

    • @thesinistercamaro
      @thesinistercamaro  Год назад +1

      Not at all. I have scrubbed them multiple times with the same kind of brush and it's been fine. As long as it has lubrication with the water and soap, should be good. Added protection using the blower to get the water off versus a microfiber cloth helps too.

    So I'm guessing there is specific ceramic applications for PPF/vinyl versus painted calipers/wheels versus glass - correct?
    If not then you could coat everything in one session (multiple applications), but if so could you still do it in one session or require multiple sessions?
    My son has a VERY low mileage Cooper S R52 convertible. My plan is to help him by paying for a paint correction and touch up (prepare the foundation), then get it wrapped, and then coated.
    At least cosmetically that's a short term goal.

      Yes, through this process I've learned there is ceramic coating for paint (can work on wraps as well), wheels, and glass. We only did the wrap in these videos since it was going to be a pain to take off the wheels at the time and I had no idea it was a different solution for glass until after filming these videos. Very interesting to find out. I think some companies are even doing ceramic sprays for interior fabric as well. Not sure how good they are, but interesting with the possibilities.
      That sounds like an awesome project! Even if you wrap it in clear ppf to preserve the paint, that would keep it nice and neat. I was told when I wrapped my first Camaro (I was going to do the same with touch up etc) they warned me against it. The company said the wrap may pull off the new paint down the road when I remove the wrap and the wrap should mask the imperfections since the material we used was so think. I ended up wrapping the car with the scratches and rock chips and you wouldn't even know they were under it. I haven't pulled the wrap off that car yet to see what it looks like now. Just giving you a heads up to check with the wrap shop if you have to put fresh paint on the car. Wouldn't want to see him mess up that beautiful car by accident.

      @@thesinistercamaro thanks for the feedback. I was aware that wrap lasted about 4-5 years with the likelihood it would bond with clear coat/paint the longer it stays.
      I wasn't planning to repaint as much as clay, cut & polish, but I appreciate your insight.
      Lastly, I've subscribed and will be looking through your library as well as waiting for your new content. Thanks again.

      I've had the wrap on my SS for longer than 5 years, so that will be a treat to see if it's true. Thanks so much for checking us out and all the great questions. Enjoy and have a great day!

      Only one I know of is the big one down garnet street in the fall with the classics. Most are out of town around the Raleigh area.

      Since it has a custom light in the door panel, way more than a normal one lol. For a basic color wrap starts at $3k for this size car. The more special the wrap color or custom additions you do to it will raise the price. This is the second one we have wrapped and I still rock a custom one on my SS for about 7 years or so.
