Nomad traveling here, searchN new relocation. Maybe I’ll catch U at a TA, Petro, Love’s sometime. Did 1800 miles twice in personal pickup under 19 hrs, ? Is is this truck drivers avg for the mileage.
Thank you very much buddy. Will definitely get you a coffee if we run into each other out here. We can’t do that many miles in that many hours because we can’t go as fast as cars can. Some guys might be able to get it done but I wouldn’t be able to. I like to keep my speed around 66 MPH.
I understand just didn’t know if in a non commercial if that’s good timing. Most rig drivers said what rig u driving then I tell them and they laugh! I would too
Thank you for all the great videos this year. I hope 2025 is a great year for and your family. On the truck I mentioned a few months ago the steering box could be binding. Maybe when you swap for a TRW box, check that the box and column are properly aligned, hoses ok and there is no binding in drag link and all steering parts are ok. Hope it goes well.🇦🇺
Thank you so much, buddy. Happy new year to you as well.. I think TRW is gonna be much better than this gearbox that I have right now. Even though I put it on over this summer, I just think Shepherd gearboxes are bad on their own.
Im sorry for the problems you have been having. I did a little research on Shepard compared to TRW and found the wandering has been an issue with many people and the Shepard. I hope the TRW takes care of the problem. Happy New Year🎉
Thank you very much buddy. I was reading about shepherd on some RV forum and it looks like they’ve had same issues as I did until they replaced it with TRW Happy new year to you as well
Awesome year of watching The Bandit and his trucking adventures. Never in a million yrs did I think I would have got hooked on a trucking channel but man, you make it work. If I was younger I might look into trucking but I truely enjoy riding with you to all the different places you go and the beautiful scenery. More importantly your vids in Colorado and Florida. When I was 21 I had 17 traffic violations on my record. The last time I got a ticket back hen was from my favorite cop. He asked me what I was going to do with my life I said I’m going to be a truck driver. He said you’ll never make it if you keep this shit up so I immediately changed my driving habits lol. That was 53 years ago. My record is clean now. Happy New Year’s Bandit! 👍🏼🎊🎉🎊
Happy new year to you as well, buddy. We all do stupid things when we are younger unfortunately. But we don’t think about it and how bad it will affect our future. Hey Bandit My grandfather came here from Canada. Iam happy you did the right thing coming here. I wish we all in this world would live in peace. I think your steering box is still messed up. Happy New Year buddy!
Thank you very much, buddy. Happy new year to you as well. I think it is my gearbox and I will be changing it very soon to TRW from Shepherd. And yes, I really wish the entire world could just live in peace.
Happy New Year, Bandit! I am not a truck driver, but i enjoy watching and listening. I was also wondering if you have your CO detector mounted low enough in your sleeper...If it's above or at the same level as your head when you're sleeping, it may not do you any good. Stay safe out there, best wishes for 2025! -Z
Thank you very much, buddy. I really appreciate that. Happy new year to you as well. I do have CO2 detector that is very close to my head. Probably about four or two. And I would recommend that to every other truck driver.
Happy New Year OTR Bandit Blessings to you and your family may the new year bring nothing but blessings HAPPY NEW YEAR 2025🎉🎉🎉 CONTINUE WITH THE VIDEOS ENJOY THEM ALOT BE SAVE AND STAY WARM OUT IN THE ROAD ... 🎉🎉🎉2025🎉🎉🎉
I think you can check your gear box by parking on flat land with steers pointing straight and turning steering wheel left then right and taking note of when you feel resistance which is where the turning is starting and if you have to turn the wheel too much then that indicates worn-out gear box or needing adjustment in the box or worn-out steering parts. You can also turn steering wheel and watching front tires for movement, if excessive turning the steering wheel then again could be worn-out or needing adjustment gear box orworn-outsteering parts .. Also have someone like Richard turn the steering wheel and you get underneath and watch what is happening to steering parts like pitman arm , idler arm tie rod ends etc.
Have you tried getting the shims correct on the drive axles? The Texas shop said something about moving the shims from one side or something. Seems like the alignment shop would have noticed the axles are not parallel to each other.
Being an older Tractor, the steering gearbox can mimic a worn kingpin. If your steering was stiff, it could be the steering U-bolt, as they tend to wear(faster if not lubed properly and enough) and stick to one side. I hope it is not the spindle on the steering shaft, and I do not believe it would be. I am sorry, but this is all the help I can give. As a company driver, I had the same issue with a 1996 International 9700 cab over 27 years ago. The same type of drifting as on ice or grooved asphalt and loss of steering. God Bless Mr. Bosnian and Happy New Year!
I forgot that normal play in an 18-inch steering wheel is about two inches in either direction before the steering tires move. Additionally, if I am right, you said the pitman's arm was tight with no movement. I bet 1000 to 1 that the gear in the steering box is bad. You can replace the box yourself and make the lines match before you tighten any bolts back up. Again, I am not an expert, but had a similar problem many years ago. If you're experiencing loose steering with a Sheppard gearbox, it likely indicates worn components within the steering gear box itself, most commonly >>>>>worn teeth on the sector shaft
Thank you so much buddy. Happy new year to you as well. I really think it’s my shepherd gearbox for some reason. I think I’m gonna change it to TRW and hopefully that solves my problem.
Hey Bandit. Happy new year Brah. I have really enjoyed your 2024 exploits in big blue and look forward to 2025 travels. Hey Bandit have you checked that the tie rod ends or ball joints or other steering components are not damaged. I haven’t heard you mention them. Anyway cheers buddy and have a good break.
Thank you so much, buddy. Happy new year to you as well.. tie rod and tie rod ends are brand new. I put them on back in August I believe. I’ve checked everything multiple times and I’ve had shops check everything multiple times, but nobody can find anything.
Hey--It's me again. I'm only at the 9 minute mark on this video, but I had to weigh in on the wandering issue again. Just like the front springs, I don't believe it's the steering box ! The main reason, as I've been saying, is because it wouldn't make any difference if the road was dry or wet. You can see how much play is in the box by standing by the driver side front wheel and turning the steering shaft back and forth just a tiny bit while staring at the pitman arm. The pitman arm should begin to move with very little turning of the steering shaft. And have the wheels pointing straight when you do it, because that's the part of the gears that would be worn the most from driving. Check the u-joints in the steering shaft too. There should be one under the column inside the cab for the tilt wheel, and at least one outside by the steering box. But like I said, I don't think that's your problem. Please understand I'm only trying to help, having owned and driven lots of trucks over my 75 year lifetime. I keep going back to the rearend alignment, especially where that guy in Houston said they were out of line ! That would be the least expensive repair. Grab a load going down that way and have him do the alignment. But for now--Happy-ER New Year !!
I’ve been to 3 shops and they’ve all said that kingpins are good. I checked the steering column and shaft but nothing is loose in there. Pitman arm moves as soon as I move the shaft. I think I’ll replace steering box and hope for the best. I really appreciate you trying to help.
@@OTRBandit I don't mean to sound shitty here, but I don't see why you'd replace the box if it's not loose ? Maybe year-end write-off ?😂. Seems to me you've had plenty of those already. Well, I hope it works.
@@bradchandler6967Shepherd gearbox are loose on their own a lot more than TRW gearboxes so I was just hoping that it might help. I guess we’ll find out soon.
@@bradchandler6967 truck is doing the same thing even when it’s dry pavement, but it is scary in the rain because I’m always afraid that I’m gonna slide off the road.
Forgot check ujoint in steering column may be 2 but one at box usually goes first.Oh yea and front shock bushings or bad shock will give you weird feelings especially around 50 or 60 cheap fix God bless you keep trucking as long as you can,Retired sorry i ever did.
Thank you so much, my friend. Actually shocks are pretty new and I’ve replaced them three times and I’m still having the same problem.. I’ve also checked the entire steering shaft from steering wheel to the gearbox, and everything is tight. I just think it’s just Shepherd gearbox thats giving me problems.
What brand steering tires you running Bandit ? Just thinking, bout all you've done and still have wandering steering. Good luck keep the bugs off your windshield, bears off your donkey.
Thank you so much, buddy. I run Bridgestone tires on my stairs. But I don’t think it’s the tires because it was doing the same thing whenever I had the Firestone tires on here.
Congrats on your citizenship. We all have done stupid shit when we are young, But if you learn from it all is good.👍👍 Happy new year!! p.s Have you called the steering box manufacture and asked them about the problem? I had an 1989 GMC astro van AWD that did the same thing, except when I put like 1000 lbs in the back so it was lower in the rear. so one day after work I did an alignment and put like 10 degrees of positive caster in it and that fixed it.
Thank you very much, buddy and happy new year to you as well. I called Weller Truck Parts, who build these gearboxes and the guy said I might have better luck with TRW gearbox. So I think I will be replacing this shepherd gearbox and put on TRW gearbox. No shop will put that high amount of castor on a semi truck because it’s not safe. I think the most I’ve had was seven and eight but I’m not 100% sure to be honest with you.
Great drone footage over the Mississippi River! I still think you have a frame alignment issue… “Walking the Dog” 😁Thanks for Every Mile!🙏🏻🇺🇸🙏🏻🛻 Happy New Year & Cheers to 2025🎉🎉🎉
When you were in Houston did bendon put your front end on a machine to measure how much play there is in the king pin so that you can compare that number with what the Missouri Kenworth dealer told you, also on the video when you were at Brendon's place when he grabbed the top and bottom of your tire the Kingpin play looked very obvious to me , also has anyone checked out your front wheel bearings
I haven’t had bearings checked out. But I did have three shops check the kingpins out and they all said that they were good. And no, he did not measure it down in Houston. I think the reason the wheel was moving like that up and down is because he had truck lifted up in the middle. So the whole thing was just moving.
Happy new year to you as well, buddy. It is just around the corner and I am sitting at Walmart parking lot upstate New York. Delivering a load tomorrow just down the road.
@OTRBandit I use to go to New York a lot at least one or two times each month and into New York city quiet often when I was there in New York city I use to cross the George Washington bridge. It amazed me how big that bridge was. Another huge bridge I use to cross often was the Delaware memorial bridge. It too was huge. When I stopped driving company trucks and bought my truck and trailers I never did go to New York or Delaware. I went to several places in Pennsylvania such as York and Lancaster quiet often. New York was an interesting state to drive a big rig in. Have a safe journey.
@@ronnieterry4916 I’ve definitely ran a lot of those places where you’ve been before as well, buddy. Many times before. But I would not do it again. Upstate New York is fine, but never again in New York City. Especially with this truck. I like running around York, PA and Lancaster, PA but I don’t like DOT that they have around those towns.
I've come to the conclusion Bandit that your wandering problem may be a loose screw behind the steering wheel!! HaHa, just messing with ya!! Hopefully you get it figured out😊. Happy New Year 🎊 🎊🎉
I definitely think that’s a possibility, my friend. Loose screw behind the steering wheel is never a good thing. Happy new year to you as well, my friend.

Hey Bandit, I mentioned this before but I don't remember if you ever checked but have you checked the sway bars on your rear axles. I'm thinking that may be your problem. But what do I know. I'm just a dumb ass truck driver too. Lol
Same here, buddy. I’m just a dump truck driver lol I put those on back in August and I just put another set on during Christmas break . So unfortunately, it is not that.

Happy New Year OTR Bandit

Happy and prosperous new year to you as well.
Happy knew year my friend!!
Happy new year to you as well, my friend. Hopefully you have a great 2025.
Have you tried getting the shims correct on the drive axles? The Texas shop said something about moving the shims from one side or something. Seems like the alignment shop would have noticed the axles are not parallel to each other.
It was the alignment shop that put these shims in here, but I got it fixed and unfortunately, it’s still the same thing.
Thank you for the great videos hope you have a good new year buddy!!! 🎉🍻
Thank you so much for watching 🙏🏼
Hope you have a great 2025 as well buddy.
Ein gesundes, erfolgreiches neues 🍾 Jahr und viele Grüße aus Deutschland
Happy New Year from Michigan 😉🙋🏼
Thank you so much. Happy new year to you as well 🙏🏼
Being an older Tractor, the steering gearbox can mimic a worn kingpin.
Good stuff Bandit. Have a Good One
Thank you very much buddy.

Happy New Year Brother! Be safe!
Happy new year to you as well, my friend. Hopefully you have a great 2025 buddy.
Ok, I'm hooked. I subscribed. 👍

Happy New Year's bandit keep up the good videos😂
Will do, buddy. And happy new year to you as well.
@@OTRBandit So.... why would it be "scary" only in the rain ?
@@bradchandler6967 truck is doing the same thing even when it’s dry pavement, but it is scary in the rain because I’m always afraid that I’m gonna slide off the road.
Thanks for sharing your trip again.be safe
**OLE BLUE** ***SOUND*** * BEAUTIFUL*
Thank you so much 🙏🏼
Maybe you could add some caster to your alignment to fit your preference?
Unfortunately, that did not work. I had castor as high as seven and eight and it was still doing the same thing. It was actually even worse.
@@OTRBandit 10 - 4. At least you thought to try it. 👍
Deus te abençoe sempre my brother 🇺🇸 🇧🇷 🚛🚛🚛!! Happy 2025!!

Happy New Year Bandit as my dad and myself enjoy your videos and keep up the good work in 2025 !
Thank you so much, buddy. I really appreciate it.. happy new year to you and your dad buddy. Hopefully you have a great 2025.
Could it be tie rods or idler arm? Just trying to help with some suggestions. Happy New year, praying it will be better than the last 4.
Thank you so much. Happy new year to you as well. All of those parts are brand new so unfortunately, I don’t think it’s that.
What brand steering tires you running Bandit ? Just thinking, bout all you've done and
still have wandering steering. Good luck keep the bugs off your windshield, bears off
your donkey.
Thank you so much, buddy. I run Bridgestone tires on my stairs. But I don’t think it’s the tires because it was doing the same thing whenever I had the Firestone tires on here.
Happy New Year 🎆
Happy new year to you as well 🙏🏼
Happy 🎊 New Year OTR Bandit
Happy new year to you as well, buddy. Thank you so much.
@OTRBandit your welcome otr bandit.
Dang blue beast has some battle wounds on top, I wonder if that's from Marshalls mom🤔😂 Happy New Year Mr. Bandit.
It was actually Richard’s mom. She climbed up there on top and put a big dent in it 😂😂 happy new year to you as well, my friend.
love ur vids and happy new year bandit and be safe out there
Thank you so much, buddy. Happy new year to you as well.

@@patioco4969 definitely not changing in 2025. I’m too perfect to change anything 😂😂
@ 😂😂😂you are good…Perhaps perfect!🤣🤣🤣you keep me Smiling! Thanks 🙏🏻🇺🇸🙏🏻🛻💙
Happy New Year Bandit! I hope 2025 is filled with a lot of blessings for you. Stay safe

HAPPY NEW YEAR MY FRIEND
Hey dude, very good story, bro! I'm a truck driver here in Brazil, and I'm applying for an H-2A visa. I think I’ll be there soon!🎉
Happy new year. The new year is just hours away.
He's breaking rocks in the hot sun. Bandit fought the law and the law won.
Law always wins my friend.

Try Fleetpride heavy duty parts and service, They have trw steering box, maybe it will help you. good luck
Thank you very much, buddy. I found one online where I can buy it then I don’t have to give them my old one. It’s brand new. If I get it from regular parts store, I will have to pay for the core.
Hey Bandit, I mentioned this before but I don't remember if you ever checked but have you checked the sway bars on your rear axles. I'm thinking that may be your problem. But what do I know. I'm just a dumb ass truck driver too. Lol
Same here, buddy. I’m just a dump truck driver lol
I put those on back in August and I just put another set on during Christmas break . So unfortunately, it is not that.
Did you ever change the u joint under the steering wheel above your feet ?
I did not, but I did inspect everything over the Christmas break and everything seems very, very tight
