I told her to tell them, "I'll renew, if there's no increase...and they agreed....she could have even went as far as asking for half off the following month....it doesn't hurt to ask...

We have numerous organizations that have different platforms and it would be great if we could have a Black Manifesto that everyone could be on board with. I also think we should always demand that we are treated with respect and we should stop publically forgiving everyone that does us wrong.
Hey Deon, I totally agree with you brother. I also think that black folks can be our own worst enemy when it comes to mobilizing and coming together as a people. Despite protests and calls for justice we still have so many senseless shootings and loss of innocent lives at the hands of our own. My hope is that we move beyond the trifling behavior that stagnates our race and move towards a more uplifting pride for ourselves, our people and our history. I was angry and enraged when I saw two black women deface the Black Lives Matter mural in NYC on 5th avenue by throwing black paint on the mural. I had to ask myself...'What the hell are my people doing?"...Do they even understand what kind of statement their action is making? I don't understand how we just disrespect each other in a time when we need each other to accomplish the mission of fighting for our civil rights. In this most crucial time I had to ask myself..."Why are we at times our own worst enemy?" and Why do we stand in our own way when it comes to moving forward? Like Maya Angelou said..."When you Know better...You do Better".

In Toronto, if you accuse someone of low-level sexual assault (like public groping), one of the remedies is to send the perpetrators to a 1-month sensitivity training about consent (though kinda ridiculous to frame it as consent if they randomly foist themselves on you violently in 100% non-romantic situations), and a written & signed apology letter. Just saying there’s a class for THAT & I think if ppl had a record of apology letters that they wrote for these kinds of racial aggressions, it’d be some sort of social pressure deterrent.

They all come offering up apologies once they get exposed. Which in my opinion can be kept. Because you're only looking 4 sympathy once the public knows how you really are. And I'm more comfortable with that because the mask/hood is off. You can't help the nature of some ppl.

He had to apologize because he is at the mercy of a network not owned by us....so when you get out of line you get checked like a child. It's happened time and time again.....😒😔. Keep the push going for dollars continuing to circle in blacked owned businesses. Unfortunately, if solving this equality issue was as easy as educating people on our history (done that) or taking sensitivity and race equality/inclusion classes (done, yearly in fact, at many jobs), we would've be in this current situation. We'd be done, living together happily ever after by now, case closed. But its not. As we all know, it's a deeply-rooted, multi-faceted, highly complex, centuries old human issue. It also doesn't help that the supposed democratically elected leader of our country is a sociopathic, bigoted, morally stunted, lying, cheating bully who has reinvigorated the levels of free-flowing, outright racism and hate in this country to levels not seen openly and brazenly in years. That said, the _single most important_ mission we MUST pull together to get accomplished _right away_ is to vote this November. Vote to make sure that, in no uncertain terms and with an obvious win, the current sitting president (I refuse to write/say his name in my posts) does NOT get a second term where he can continue ripping our country and our people apart at the fragile seams. I don't think our country can survive and come out united if he gets another term. Then we need to vote at the state and county levels, which are equally just as important. Whatever we do (and have done just THIS YEAR even!), aside from voting, is a magnificent step in the right direction. Keep up the fight y'all! There are people who have a plan your just not around them, there are amazing woman and man fighting for the community every day get to know them.
They're working on integrating African American studies in our public schools in Maryland the Prince George's County District from what I hear so far
