@@nirolf12 I don’t think there is any point to do anything if you are not facing anyone or anything. Narratively bankais are supposed to be last resorts (some more than others) “against a foe.” Can you think of a scenario where Shunsui could not use his bankai because he is facing someone that is also not there? Could he even use his shikai in that case?
13:46 - There aren’t any conditions, so all the info in the episode is everything that we have. His Shikai are Children Games, so everyone has to play his games and this makes it so that he’s terrible in team fights, but excels in 1v1s (people have to play by the rules and this game in particular, is what we know as Red Light, Green Light.) This represents how Shinsui is viewed, which is childish and his Bankai represents his ruthless side (it’s like he’s an Assassin.) His Bankai are plays and is barely trained, so potentially he could have as many plays as he does Children Games, which plays are referred as Adult Games (the play chosen is a story of a lover’s suicide and everyone must follow the events of the play to the end, as it can’t be interrupted like a real play.) 14:07 - There aren’t any extra info, but Kubo was asked what would happen if this Bankai was used against Aizen and he said it’s not Shinsui’s story. Pretty much, if he used his Bankai, he would’ve defeated Aizen, but everyone else would’ve been caught in the friendly fire and that’s not something Shinsui would do/he’s not the protagonist that was needed there. A neat thing is that the Children Games have rules, but you can pretty much do whatever you want, while the play has acts that must be followed and no one can interfere/just watch the play play out. However, the play has only one direction and must end after each act plays out, while a Children Game can be played indefinitely when you think about it, as long as rules are followed (and it’s not like you have to be honest about everything, like leaving some info out so that Shinsui has an advantage.)

The zampakutou rebellion arc is kinda iffy on if its canon but i think it sorta is, cause in in cour 2 in one of byakuyas flash backs it showed him fighting koga kuchiki and in one of the light novels muramasa was mentioned. Maybe kubo liked it and decided to make it canon like the first movie
They didn't show Koga though, they used that clip as Byakuya was well animated there, also no Rebellion arc is not canon although the character designs of Zanpakutos did came from Kubo himself, so him using that same design in a canon story makes sense as they were his original designs in the end.
@ritvikdesu2102 oh gotcha thanks I thought it was cause muramasa was even name dropped in the cfyow novel, but maybe its just the idea that he exist but not in the way it went down in the anime

No, not all sternritters can. Only two. Lille and another one whose plot twist hasn't been revealed yet. Lille is ascended to Godhood by Yhwach and the other one is part God to begin with.
Lille’s voltstandig is meant to represent biblically accurate angels. Which fits his theme because he’s a religious zealot for God (Yhwach)
And in the Bible it says that when ppl see angels they tremble in fear which is why shunsui said he couldn’t move after Lille released his holy form
Great analogy from both of you🧐👆
