his shikai is children's games, the kid version of playing pretend. His bankai is theater, the adult version of playing pretend. He plays out the acts of a traditional theater production, casting those within his bankai as roles within the narrative and warping reality to subject the conditions that befall the characters upon those involved.
Bankai explained in Act 1: because the man hit the woman, he feels great shame as if the wounds he inflicted he can also feel them (and it becomes real damage).
Act 2: the man starts feeling even worse for what he did and develops a sickness because of this great shame.
Act 3: as a way to atone the man drops into a endless ocean hoping to drown and the woman also drowns with him because she pities him. However, the man becomes a coward, starting to swim up to the surface abandoning his promise to drown along with the woman.
Act 4: As a result of all this, the woman wanting to get rid of the man's regret and cowardness, cuts his throat.
Great way to explain it!

Shunsui's Bankai and Shikai Spirit alon with Rukia's Bankai Design was shown in the Zanpakuto Rebellion Filler YEARS before TYBW was a thing. So Kubo had it thought out since back then

Lisa is the vizard girl that looks almost like nanao, who's used to be his lieutnant back then.
If I remember correctly, they’re also sisters. Lisa being the older sister.
@@halohalo929 They are not sisters, being they have different last names with Yadomaru and Ise, Nanao just very much looked up to Lisa when she was younger.
@@halohalo929 No, they aren't sisters. You'll likely find out in 2 episodes when Nanao comes to save Shunsui's ass her backstory. Lisa was just a big sister type inspiration for her but not her actual sister.
@ 👍 I remember they had a Sisterly type connection from reading the manga maybe eight years ago. Couldn’t actually remember if they were sisters.
@@halohalo929 nope, Lisa was Yadomaru if I'm not mistaken, while Nanao was from the Ise who's the Girl in the Lineage was carrying a Curse, btw it will be explained on episode 11 Theatre Suicide Chapter
This bankai is so twisted, it either resolves in mutual suicide OR Kyoraku only surviving if the opponent lacks courage.

So, Ohana did show up more. She actually already had her debut in the old Bleach anime, but it was during a filler arc, the Zanpakuto Rebellion.
There, all of the heroes' Zanpakuto spirits are freed from the swords and rebel against the Shinigami. It's a very well regarded arc and I'm glad elements of it were brought over to the canon story.

well isnt the reason why he didnt use it because it would drown, afect what ever the rest of the squad.
Stark would have won.
He would not have attempted to flee from the ocean, thus preventing the final act from triggering.
1. He has greater reiatsu than Shunsui (dude's reserves are near limitless) and would drain slower.
2. His soul wolves would be able to kill Shunsui and put an end to the bankai.
@@tristandimitrijev3195 the damage he took would be shared with everyone, although he hadn't really taken damage at that point so it is a bit of a non-factor.
But yes, being dragged into the ocean is bad for everyone lol.
Bad for Aizen too sure, but we've seen this dude teleport, so he could probably get out of it or just kill Shunsui to end the Bankai.

This is why, in my opinion, Kyoraku's zampakuto is the one enemies should fear the most. A) His shikai force you to play a death game with rules that you must follow if you don't want to die. B) His bankai is basically a theatrical death sentence.
p.s. - Ngl after this i'm just waiting for another person to release the Bankai.

Ok so the translation seems a bit scuffed so i'll point out a few things. His Bankai creates this giant area of effect that designates performers to participate in a tragedy play. The yellow color scheme and panels in the sky are based on old school Japanese theater. The play itself is about two toxic lovers with Lille being the man and Shunsui being the woman. The play itself seems to be a real Japanese theater production.
- In act 1 the man hits the woman, only to feel such shame that the pain he feels mimics the injuries he inflicted on his lover.
- In act 2 the man's shame and regrets grows to such a point that he contracts an illness.
- In act 3 the couple decides to end their misery by drowning themselves. But the man backs down and tries to swim back to the surface.
- In the final act the scorned woman decides to end the man's regret and cowardice by cutting his throat.
You guys should watch filler zanpakto rebellion arc there you can see all the zanpaktos in human form ohana was also there 😊

Lisa is the member of the Vizards who wears glasses, and was Kyouraku's lieutenant 100 years ago. She often threatened her captain with more... extreme methods.
We got a small scene in the Turn Back the Pendulum Arc where Nanao is a child that recently graduated and joined the squad, and it appears Lisa used to read books to her. So it seem Nanao may have seen her as a bit of a role model.

Lili is the first quincy granted a schrift (in his case the X axis) by ywach, but jugram is ywachs furst son, meaning the oldest quincy

@@WarrenGdog28In the manga he says once he was the last, but it was a translation mistake, all the subsequent times he mentioned that he says he is the first granted powers. Which makes more sense considering we literally saw Uryu receiving his schirft so clearly he was the last one.

Something I just noticed the more experienced Captains (Yoruichi and Shinji) are just like 🤨 when they feel his Bankai and everyone else is scared shitless. And yeah Lille is supposed to resemble an eldritch angelic being something more accurate to a Biblical angel than the little wing and robed ones we think of
Watching the two of you get confused by the appearance of Ohana and get frustrated when Shunsui didn't finish his sentence was peak entertainment. Some watchers remember Ohana from her appearance in the Zanpakuto rebellion arc which was not supposed to be canon but included designs by Kubo. It's clear you skipped or forgot this arc which actually made the reaction better
U guys didnt watch the zampaktou arc coming to life, in soul society, the twins of Ukitakes swords eter their world

Maybe they skipped that filler. The story was filler but the Zanpakuto design was canon and illustrates by Kubo Himself 😊

Alr i gotta say it. You dont want to ship characters with their own swords. Reason being if you guys forgot, their swords are a manifestation of their inner spirit that is basically them, so although yes they are a good pair, youll then also unintentionally be saying that they should be with themselves 😂
