8:46 like you said... Venom was kind to Eli, but you can see that he (eli) clearly doesnt like defeat. When we try to Remember things that happened when we were Kids sometimes concepts and ideas get lost in the Memory or they get misinterpreted. If we take both of these things in consideration It kinda makes sense: Adult Liquid, blinded by hatred and the memories of when he was just a child, misinterpreted what venom said to him during his time at mother base. Then after joining foxhound and meeting ocelot he learns that he has a twin clone that is superior (ocelot lied to him, im 100% sure) thus making liquid's hate worse
thats a very good point bro liquid could of easily misinterpreted, what he believed to be big boss (venom) to have said or just forgot, he probably felt like he was inferior, in many factors like said with cipher ocelot reinforcing that idea, but he was probably made aware solid snake was in the early days of foxhound alongside big boss, he probably got the perception big boss favoured solid snake as the superior son, hence him to believe big boss thought he was inferior, love your comments man, they really make you think 📦📦👉👉
We need a metal gear and metal gear 2 remake. Those games have so much detail and backstory to the original games. We need to see this the similar way to Delta.
Maybe in 10 or 20 years when Konami is selling off the last of its assets before dying. I'm surprised there hasn't been a fan project remaking them... I guess MGS plot is not something people want to touch because anything not from Kojima is just fan fiction.
@@kenhammscousin4716there is, look up a guy named loresmith on here, he just finished the outer heaven mission & zanzibar is up next #YoureWelcome 😎🤝🏿🫡
Nobody ever loved Eli; not Big Boss, not Zero, not David or George, or even Eva - who carried these children in her womb. It's no wonder all 3 children came out jaded and self-hating to a certain level, and saw themselves as nothing but weapons to be used by this group or that group, and not as human beings. Funnily enough, the only one who ever gave a shit about these clones - especially Eli - was ironically enough an imitation, themself, so maybe that's why Venom Snake had some subconscious care for Eli.
Hmmmmm pretty sure Eva did not birth Solidus! She only birthed Solid & Liquid, if she'd have birthed Solidus I'm sure she would have said so after she told Solid that she gave birth to him & Liquid.
We still don’t know what the hell big boss was doing during mgs5 , I wish half the game was venom snake and the other half was big boss there was only about 10 or 12 important missions in mgs5 anyway
yeah i completley agree that's what should of happened , considering it was the last game to tie in some of the most important points, would of been epic seeing big boss meet gray fox again
What if it was Big Boss scheming that led to Solidus becoming president, Solidus doesn’t seem to hate big boss, he actually seems to admire him due to being a perfect clone.
its stated the patriot's put him in that position of power, but i definitely think since solidus was a perfect clone of big boss he was fighting for similar goals, but ultimately, he wanted to be the biggest boss of them all including his father "there's only room for one big boss"
@mycardboardbox yeah but if im not mistaken he said "one snake and one big boss" implying there always needed to be a double. Like the sithlord's rule of 2. I could be misquoting i haven't played mgs2 in 10 years
@@mycardboardbox he was most likely saying one snake one bog boss etc because he knew big boss wasn’t a threat anymore, thus he felt it was his rrsponsibilty to replace him and continue the big boss legacy, he is the perfect clone.
I love Solid Snake but I have to admit Liquid is cool too. Impersonating Master Miller, speaking multiple languages, piloting a helicopter and Metal Gear. Plus he almost killed Snake but got stopped by Fox Die.
Notice that in MGS1, Liquid has a larger health bar than Snake and his punches deal more damage. The first little hint that Liquid was the superior clone afterall.
The problem is that Venom was a new construction to the series, and all that was known about Liquids encounter with Big Boss was he called him inferior. Miller implied it pretty heavy, along with Ocelot, that Liquid would've been paired with the REAL Big Boss, and Solid was paired with Venom. The end conversation between Miller and Ocelot in MGSV mention which Son was to be raised and trained by them; Miller took in David and Ocelot took in Eli. Miller taking David would pin him to Venom. Ocelot taking Eli would pin him to Big Boss.
Does anyone think about how Raiden & Liquid share a similar backstory. Jack the Ripper being an African child soldier under Solidus. Eli an African soldier child taken in by Venom. Both are false Big Boss, and both were mentored by them in some way. And both gain resentment towards them.
@@GrimmShadowsII Yup, it adds abit of a interesting retrospect to MGS2. Patriots giving Raiden both Liquid's backstory with the African child soldier angle & Solid's greatest achievement with recreating Shadow Moses.
Liquid claims that Big Boss told him he was inferior. The only way this claim makes any sense is if the two of them met at some point. It implied heavily that Big Boss was an abusive father who didn't treat Liquid right. But this could also be chalked up to Liquid's bias, and him white washing his own toxic behavior that drove him and Big Boss apart.
My headcanon is the Last Days of FOXHOUND webcomic where Big Boss always told Liquid he was inferior to make him fight harder and push him past his limits to prove him wrong.
@@Soulkeepertube it was! Always liked the dynamic between Ocelot having CBD(Chronic Backstabbing Disorder) to such a degree he had an inhaler for it and literally became the trope namer for it
Always found interesting how when we have played all the game you can noticed how multiples actions, dialogues, etc are based on wrong information or the lack of elements that the characters didnt know. MGS4 end kind of hit me different after beating MGSV.
As said at 5:30 You know I've never really put it together but it would make complete sense that Cipher would manipulate Liquid's hatred toward Big Boss. It fits right into Kojima's themes of manipulation. It's wild that I can play these games as much as I have and still miss little stuff like that which seems so obvious now. lol ~ Thanks 😅
That's one of the things that made the Metal Gear series so good. Sure it had good gameplay that in some cases help revolutionize gameplay as a whole but it also had a story that in parts were deep and layered, although in other parts was ridiculous.
Please don't forget, Kojima didn't actually retcon the series, he simply clarifies things said by one character (WHICH IS NOT SHOWN ON SCREEN) by things said by another character. For instance in MGS2, it was said in Natasha's fiction that there is only one person that she knows who could bust Naomi out of the prison that she served after the end of MGS1, implying it to be Snake, and that Octacon himself said the 12 Patriot members are all dead 100 years ago. However, at the start of the second chapter of MGS4, Snake explained that it was Liquid Ocelot who freed Naomi but people attributed it to him, while the Patriot's identity they got from GW was simply a load of crap. In other words, we need to remember that there were a lot of things that Kojima simply didn't fix in the game and later clarified with further writing. With this background, to answer the video's question - I think it's hard to say whether Liquid met BB or not, but it's possible that he mistaken Venom as the real BB. While there are moments where Venom is kind to Eli, it's also clear that Venom (who is a mental copy of BB and shares a very similar if not the same mindset) also doesn't like to see his clones as his sons and is disciplining Eli (and Eli didn't like it and even escaped with the MG). Additionally, let's not forget what is shown in MGSV chapter 3 isn't a full version of the chapter, even if it's considered 100% official. So there's possibly things that haven't been shown, and even if you look at things that were shown (Venom leaving it for Eli to take his own life or to shoot him and said "blame me"), it clearly showed that the two didn't end well.
An argument for retcon does exist though. In MGS Snake says Big Boss told him he was his father but he never says it in MG1 or 2 so while it may not be a retcon that he was his father, it's a retcon that he told him.
Liquid never met BB. David was the only clone with whom BB had contact. Solid was trained by him after becoming a green beret. You gotta think about the fact that Liquid was unaware that the body they were recovering wasn't that of BB. He thought the body they were trying to retrieve in MGS WAS BB. Big Boss was in America training David to eventually infiltrate Outer Heaven to kill Venom.
@@kingkeefage By MGS1, Venom Snake is dead (occurred in MG1) and BB's body was recovered by the Patriots (shortly after MG2SS). There was no mentioning of the Patriots retrieving the body of Venom Snake for any purpose. At that time, Liquid Snake was indeed trying to recover BB's body, whereas the one recovered by Ocelot in MGS4 was the one of Solidus. Liquid Snake, before he boards the MG Rex, spoke in length to Solid Snake about their past, and expressly mentioned that "Father" deliberately told him that he is the inferior clone. There was no such direct mentioning by Venom in the events of MGSV, so it's hard to say whether that "Father" Liquid mentioned was Venom or the real BB.
Great analysis! There’s a lot of story lost in the 80s - 90s that developed the most important mgs characters and unfortunately was not expanded upon.. One that intrigues the most is why Grey Fox went to help Big Boss in Zanzibar Land when he was betrayed by him Outer Heaven… I believe he was part of the whole plan from the beginning and just pretended to be captured by Venom Snake to justify Solid Snake to be sent to outer heaven and killed in action … but when Snake succeeds he has no option but to go into hiding together with Big Boss and that’s when they recruit together Naomi, Sniper Wolf, etc.. this could be a great part of the story to be expanded…
Seeing as it was Venom in Outer Heaven maybe he didn't know and/or MG1 was Venom turning against Big Boss. Remember one of the big parts of MGS3 was how reality isn't always the way history books teach it, The Boss was portrayed as a villain when she was really undercover and a hero, even Big Boss one of the people closest to her didn't know the truth until she told him.
The reason that's difficult to believe is that Liquid's lines about Big Boss in MGS1 don't really reflect the interactions we saw between Venom and Eli. It makes much more sense if at some later point Liquid met the real Big Boss who was mean to him.
@danielbeckman6742 As much as I enjoy the Metal Gear games they often don't line up perfectly with each other in similar ways like that. Another example is Solid Snake saying Big Boss told him he was his father but there is no line even close to that in Metal Gear 1 or 2. To me anyway, it makes more sense for Liquid to misremember his interactions with his father a decade or more earlier when he was a child then for Solid to completely make up something Big Boss supposedly said maybe 5 years before, I forget how much time between 2 and Solid. That said I believe it's possible that Liquid met Big Boss at some point but I wouldn't say his memory of events as shown proves it.
@@GrimmShadowsII it’s true that the games don’t line up as well as they should, and that’s just Kojima not being careful with continuity. But the biggest offender of that is V existing at all. It added nothing of value and muddied the waters of an already convoluted lore.
@@GrimmShadowsII there is retcon but that's not one of them mg 1 and 2 give big room for interpretation of the events, including that what we play is an uffcial recollection of the events, so some details only who was directly invested knows, that aside even beeing a bit of a stretch, i'm absolutely not sure what's so hard to belive about the characters meeting and knowing each other off screen
Based on what we have played and have been shown, nothing says or shows Liquid Snake ever met the real big boss. So when he speaks of him, he's actually referring to Venom Snake. Not naked, snake. This is very speculative. Also careful trying to connect original classic mgs with modern mgs. Hideo Kojima made stuff up off the bat for every new mgs. The series is inconsistent.
Solid Snake did but Liquid didn't. In Phantom Pain, he only met Big Boss' counterpart Venom Snake. Think back in MGS4, Snake(David) mentioned learning CQC from Big Boss and post-Outer Heaven unlearned the fighting style for CQB along with survival techniques. Another thing that pissed off Liquid(Eli) was his twin was the favorite son in the way David was in Biblical times. This is one theory that has been fleshed out to a T.
@@hatad321 We can't say. Venom has many conversations off screen. We can tell this to be the case based on the tapes. Venom could have easily called him inferior off screen. Even then, it could easily be that Liquid misremembers his experience. Venom may not have outright said it, but Liquid felt it was being said through his treatment. Venom was overall quite nice to Liquid though, but its clear Liquid had his mind set from the get go.
About the differences in dialogue in The Twin Snakes Version, apparently Jeremy Blaustein the localizer of the original likes changing what the Japanese creators wrote. Kojima only found out that Jeremy changed his work during the creation of Metal Gear Solid: Integral that he didn't like it, including changing Psycho Mantis's last words during his death. Kojima intended to be "...Strange... Such a nostalgic feeling." Because of this, he decided to cut ties with Jeremy so he had to hire a new translator to write dialogue more close to Kojima's work. Starting with Metal Gear Solid 2. So in other words, Twin Snakes would have been mostly like the real one. When I was watching cutscenes from the Japanese original, I noticed the dialogue is so different than what Jeremy Blaustein interpreted which threw me for a loop almost two decades. And what is up with your awkward zooming/cropping? (16:09)
MGS2's English translator also changed the writing significantly because Kojima is a bad writer. It wasn't until 3 that Kojima was really able to clamp down on that kind of thing.
@@NeverKetamine "Kojima is a bad writer" yeah man, it's why the MGS games are incredibly popular in Japan. Because a translator changed the lines. No wait, it's the literal language he speaks and wrote. Yeah, that game series known for their amazing story, yup Kojima is actually a bad writer. It was that other writer that co wrote MGS1, 2 and 3. No wait, that guy just wrote side codec calls and didn't do the main story.
First of at 7:45 there is your answer. Liquid said "you, who could kill your own REAL father"! That means Liquid has no clue who Solid Snake fought against. Even Solid Snake doesn´t know. I like the fact that after all those years of this franchise we realise who the real bad guy is. Not Big Boss, The Boss, Volgin, Liquid, Solidus, Vamp, etc! It´s Adamska aka Ocelot/LiquidOcelot! The rest were just his tools to reach his ultimate goal. So the actual question is "what is Ocelots goal"? La Li Lu Le Lo? ^^
I think everyone got it backwards. People go on how Eli was unloved and just a weapon and/or experiment and that is why he turned out like this. But to me it is the other way around. Eli is just a bad person deep down, and that is why nobody loved him. Some people just come out bad, and need strict parents and a punishing society to keep them in line. It does happen.
This was a brilliant video I would love it if you made a video about how venom snake is the superior big boss compared to jack aka the real big boss or why solid snake is the best great video
I always wanted them to revisit the OG to flesh out what Kojima was limited in his time by the technology. But my problem or criticism of Konami is that they don't how to use their properties. Both mgs, silent hill and Castlevania have been grossly mishandled over the many year of their life cycle. It's cool they're doing Delta, but why start there? It's been rereleased idk how many times, it's been done. Same with SH2 did they just do that cuz resident evil did it with their second entry? I feel until Konami gets new management we better buckle up cuz we're just going to keep getting either base level excitement or disappointment out right. I hate to say that and feel this way but i still remember the "appeal to the west" era they beat us over the head with. Lol
You have to take in the revised dialogue in The Twins Snakes, which is now the canon dialogue for MGS (since it's used on MGS4, for the memory remembrance sections, and it's a better translation anyways, from the Japanese script). There, Liquid says he was chosen by his father to be the inferior one. This implies, that he was told that Big Boss chose who of his "sons" was going to be the superior being, and who was going to be the inferior. So obviously, Liquid was told a lie, since Big Boss only knew about the existence of his "children" after they were born, and Eli is the superior clone, hence why he was under the straight care of Zero in England. It's heavily implied on MGSV, on that Truth tape, that it was Skull Face, the one who told Liquid, that Big Boss chose him to be the inferior one. That's the reason why Eli escaped from Zero's care, and why he hates Big Boss so much, when we encounter him in the game, he already established the idea, that his "father" neglected him since child birth, eventually "choosing" to find him and, for a while, taking care of him, as we see on MGSV. But, his hatred is amplified, when, abandoned on that island on that cut part from the game, Venom tells him "yes, don't blame yourself, blame ME", directly fueling his hatred towards Big Boss, who left him to die and suffer on that island, didn't showcase mercy on him.
We don't have any evidence of Solidus meeting either Big Boss or knowing CQC, but he definitely is absurdly talented for a man who might not have known Big Boss. Natural talent from his genes, maybe. I do find it odd that Solidus ran a PF of sorts in the same area as Venom and the two never met, especially as they look the same.
But there's one important detaito. It's what revolver oselot says if you beat the game without submitting and perform well without raising any alerts. Or little the endgame dialogue It will be about how he explains that liquid was actually the superior And Solid was the inferior
I like these little videos where people talk about like the happenings zones and these games who don’t really understand that Kojima‘s really topical what the games he makes yeah it’s a lot of surface line stuff, but if you pay attention might be the MGS too he talks about memes, and I don’t mean the fucking funny one talking about memes about how information can be broken down and given off and multiple ways but no matter what things can be changed Mrs. skewed or just notthe truth anymore and the fact of the matter is I love metal gear solid five for the fact that it talks about a lot of hot topic things like war interpersonal problems basically changing like fucking peoples information how they retain it how they change it how they get it it’s crazy
It's pretty clear that he didn't. He clearly states to Solid Snake in MGS that he stole his birthright... implying killing Big Boss and living as Solid Snake... which is why he is so angry.. Ironically enough, Liquid's story is a sad one. He was in fact the superior clone of the 2 and still lost the race to Big Boss (MG and MG2) and ultimately lost to his inferior brother, constantly bitching that he was robbed of not being the superior one... Last but not least, he was ultimately Ocelot's puppet. (See MGS secret ending) Liquid's death is even sadder as he falls to the hands of Fox Die while being on the verge of killing Solid Snake, which was probably Ocelot's plan from the get go. Talk about a 20 year journey for revenge.. only for it to end like that. Salt on the wound: Ocelot didn't even let him die in peace, he used his persona and even implanted his arm to further blame Liquid in MGS2. Talk about kicking a man when he is.. dead. As for what Eli was doing between MGSV and MGS.. Training, plotting, setting up for what would be the incident of Shadow Moses. It's easy to make the connection that Ocelot found him after the events of mother base and took him under his wing to then set his sights on Kaz. Ocelot did make Kaz a promise after all.. As for the Shadow Moses incident, I think that was Liquid acting out of line and it forced Ocelot and co (the patriots) to take him out as a result.
None of this is related or makes it "pretty clear" that Liquid never met Big Boss. We also do know what Liquid was doing between V and 1. He was in the SAS and got captured during the gulf war, he spent a couple years as a POW until eventually becoming FOXHOUND's squad leader sometime between 1999 and 2005. So from 1984-1990 probably whatever ensued from kingdom of the flies, he turned 18 in 1990 and would've needed some time to raise to the point of joining the SAS a year later, so he would've moved to England in that time. Got captured in 1991, in captivity until 1994 (a year before MG1) at which point I assume he would've spent 1994-1999 as a mercenary of sorts seeing as he wasn't in FOXHOUND during Snake's time. MG2 happens in 1999 so he must've joined somewhere from between this year and 2005, when MGS1 takes place. There are gaps but that's pretty much what Liquid did between V and 1. Ocelot trained him until 1990 when he joined the SAS, spent a few years as a POW, maybe became a mercenary or trained more with Ocelot, then joined FOXHOUND, then MGS1. Given that Ocelot was closer to Big Boss than Kaz or Venom, Ocelot probably introduced Liquid to BB somewhere between 1984-1990 or 1994-1999. I would imagine it to be in the first gap of time, seeing as child Eli wouldn't be as much of a threat to Big Boss as Combat veteran adult Eli.
@@NeverKetamine Nah its quite clear Liquid didn't meet BB. If he did, he would have attempted to kill him and would have mentioned doing so. He explains how frustrated he was that Solid Snake killed BB. Why would he be so passionate about the kill being stolen if he had the chance to do so when meeting BB.
A good vid, I think the answer may be a bit more simple. Liquid was a rash, impulsive, petty, and unruly child when he met Venom. Children and even adults often remember feelings before words. He felt inferior to Venom, maybe he thought it was his fate. He felt inferior to Venom, he knew he was as he got his ass whooped, he clearly didn't care about Venom's words or actions back then, so they'd be muddled over time by emotions. I guess maybe in a way, that feeling of inferiority might be akin to a phantom pain. But that's me being pretentious. Maybe Liquid's a bit of a fatalist, just living in the reality where his fate had been chosen and thus he raged against a system of his own making.
That is a definite possibility. Even People with some of the best memories can have their memories accidently altered to a small degree by things that happen over the course of their life, say rembering the color of their favorite toy because the color associated with happiness has changed for some reason. So Liquid feeling inferior and pissed off at Big Boss would fit the way he acted in PP even if the reasons he stated changed.
Liquid tells us why he won against the DD soldier: "I am not a child." During the fight, Liquid is willing to use his entire body as a weapon to kill his opponent over something as small as an insult to his ego, which is a completely separate issue. Liquid's dueling partner simply just underestimated him and was treating it as a sparring match. We can see this in Liquid's interactions with Venom and Ocelot too since they treat him as he is acting, like a soldier. Venom wants Liquid to learn how to be something more than a soldier and to use his brain because he knows where it leads and dislocates then fixes Liquid's shoulder to teach him this lesson. I see this with Ocelot's interaction too but as more of an establishment of dominance. Ocelot (at this point in the story) is his superior, Liquid is a subordinate who was acting unruly, therefore his attitude was adjusted.
I've been saying that if an MGS6 ever happens, it should be about what the hell was the real Big Boss doing from 1984 till 1995, and finally be the real missing link that MGSV was advertised to be but ultimately failed to deliver.
Yeah MGSV came to be an actual separate story instead of what fans wanted and what canon should look like. Skull Face wasn't a bit interesting for me. Taking Sahalentropus as a canon thing is just stupid story-wise. Peace Walker was making a good starting point for Outer Heaven but they decided to just repeat the whole thing. I wanted to build up The Outer Heaven. Maybe develop the TX-55 Metal Gear but no. We just got worse Peace Walker with some diamond dogs group that was out of nowhere and dozens of reapeting side quests.
13:27 The dialogue in the game NEVER says that Liquid is the DOMINANT clone. It says that "...the INFERIOR one was the winner after all. Until the very end, Liquid thought HE was the INFERIOR one." / There's no direct correlation made between Dominant and Superior and Recessive and Inferior. Liquid was the Recessive clone, but was genetically Superior. Solid was the Dominant clone, but genetically Inferior.
In the truth tapes and also just in the intro in general big boss had to have awoke from his coma for an undisclosed amount of time before they launched the body double plan, especially since big boss helps venom escape the hospital (unless that really was all just still a phantom he imagined from his hypnotic suggestion while in the coma). Either way the body double was to be woken up after big boss did
It is kind of hard to say whether Ishmael was real. There is a scene with Big Boss and Ocelot discussing the plan but it's hard to say when it takes, or even where, I seem to recall it sounding like it took place after the hospital part but that could just be because it showed Big Boss dressed and taking off and Ocelot turning around and walking away. So it could be that that scene took place soon after the hospital escape and Ocelot was waiting with Big Boss's clothes and motorcycle but I don't recall anything about the scene that made it definitely take place then.
@GrimmShadowsII When Venom asks Ocelot who led him out of the hospital, Ocelot ignores the question and moves on. Had Ishmael been a hallucination, Ocelot wouldn't have known who this person is and would've been curious who could've been skilled enough to protect Big Boss. He ignored the question because Ishmael was real and Venom wasn't meant to know the truth yet. There's nothing to suggest that Ishmael isn't real, it's just PythonSelkan being a clickbait retard making a million dumb MGSV theories that gave people that idea.
I want there to be a reference to liquid snake in a remake of metal gear 1987. Solid snake meets machine kid, one of the mercenaries of outer heaven, Machine gun kid: "Solid snake ey? Yor 'is bruva innit ? I knew a snake once, we were mates. served in that Iraqi desert storm mission when saddam invaded Kuwait. After that, 'e said summing 'bout foindin' and I'm like , mate, ya dad's gone and he told me sod off. We went arr separate paths. 'e went to join this new foxhound outfit, while I became a mercenary."
It's hard to say for sure if he met the real Big Boss or not. There's definitely a decade or 2 between Phantom Pain and Metal Gear 2 that we don't know for sure everything that happened. He did know that Big Boss was cloned he gave a big speech about the Les Enfants terribles project to David before the fought on top of Metal Gear Rex.
Liquid hated Big Boss despite never meeting him, he thought he was the inferior clone despite having the "dominant" genes, he hated Solid Snake partly because he's jealous Snake killed Big Boss despite the Patriots keeping him alive and comatose, (assuming he really posseses Ocelot) he foiled Solidus' plan to use Arsenal Gear to end Wall Street and cripple the Patriots by ramming it into Manhattan instead despite also wanting to end the Patriots, then immediately starts chasing the long dead names despite Ocelot knowing about the AI System. Liquid Snake is an absolute buffoon who is so gullible his entire existence is just a whirlwind of lies. He's wrong about literally everything he ever does, and I think thats compelling
I'm pretty sure there was no DNUOHXOF, although Outer Heaven kind of fits the bill based on Portable Ops, althoughhow much or if Canon is debated, or Militaires Sans Frontieres during Peace Walker, although they disbanded after the events of that game, or maybe Ground Zeros so it's unlikely Liquid was involved in them.
Yes, and no, let me explain and metal gear solid V the phantom pain, snake Meeks, a young Eli a.k.a. liquid snake but those who have played it no that venom snake is not actually the real big boss. He is a doppelgänger created to fool cipher so that the real big boss can continue to build his true outer heaven and Zanzibar land to answer your question he met big boss, but not the real big boss a version of big boss venom snake who is the medic from ground zeroes but he doesn’t know that.
It's unlikely Sears was his last name that was probably just given to Soldius since he needed a name to become President even if he was put there by the Patriots. I doubt Kojima was trying to say Sears was Big Boss's real last name. Also after the events of Phantom Pain there's atleast a decade before the end of Metal Gear 2 where Big Boss ends up in his coma until MGS4. Plenty of time for him to possibly meet Big Boss but impossible to say for sure.
That is a great question but there really isn't anything to go on one way or the other. Meanwhile the way Liquid talks about Big Boss don't align with Phantom Pain but do so in a way that could suggest he meets him later but could just be him not remembering what happened accurately.
This Question is a very good one but I think we will never get a clear answer, since almost the half of phantom pain was cut, act 3 was a lot bigger than some people guess, we did not only lose a part of the story and another map to freeroam, an entire ending which closes loose ends is just missing. Lorewise as it Stands, Liquid could only met the real Big Boss in the Time between when Solid Snake killed his Phantom and BB builds Zansibarland, because both were members of Foxhound. Solid Snake was before Liquid in Foxhound, they never met before Shadow Moses. This might be the only single Instance where liquid could Theoretically have met the real Big Boss, if liquid would deny it and envy Snake because he defeated BB and became a Legend.
Another thing we have to think about was exactly how big was Foxhound, I mean was it big enough that maybe they were members at the Sametime and just never knew each other? That may be unlikely but hardly the most unlikely thing to happen over the course of the series.
Foxhound it self isn’t a big unit, their support groups are. The unit itself always hasn’t that much members, they were supposed the best of the best, have very specific skills or supernatural abilities and even in the crazy metal gear world those individuals are rare and not common to find. I think around 40-50 individuals were direct part of foxhound since it was founded in the 70s and ceased to exists after shadow Moses incident. Some people think the Genom soldiers were part of foxhound but that’s wrong, they were subordinates and followed their orders. Without Kojima in future Metal Gear Projects we will never get an clear answer to some things that just itches me to know, even if it’s fictional, the metal Gear world despite all the goofy things and craziness is a very interesting one.
Even if it did there's still plenty of time for stuff to happen. He was what 15 at the oldest in PP that still leaves a couple decades until MGS. I'm not sure how old they're supposed to be in MGS but I feel safe in guessing 30s maybe even 40s.
I’m praying after mgs 3 remake they make mgs1 and 2 remakes and peace walker omg a peace walker remake would be so goood!!! I hope mgs 3 remake sells like hot cakes
David was trained by Big Boss himself so therefore his skill was superior to Liquid regardless him being dominant and David being weaker. Big Boss was building the real Outer Heaven while the world was distracted by Venom Snake 🐍, Sad thing is everyone played their role until death while the world was being set free only for a new form of control took the Patriots place. The more things change the more they stay the same, thats the real underlining truth in MGS in which the game is trying to tell the player
It's kind of unclear what Big Boss was doing. If Portable Ops is Canon, which is still debated, outer heaven already existed although the timeline at the end of Phantom Pain does say it's Venom Snake fights in Outer Heaven in MG1.
I wonder if it's feasible and enough to work with to give Liquid Snake his own Metal Gear game? Or even some sort of "nanomachines" retcon ass-pull post Metal Gear Rising? 🥴
There's definitely enough time between PP and MGS seeing as Solid had 2 games between them but Konami still has the rights and I doubt theydo anything with them except re releases after the disaster of survival.
Let me be frank: Venom Snake IS Big Boss. No, he is not Naked Snake Big Boss, but he is Big Boss all the same. So in a sense, yes, Liquid has met Big Boss.
The real question is did he know Venom Snake was not the real Big Boss aka his father, and did he know about his origin at the time of Phantom Pain or not until sometime around MGS, the same as Solid Snake.
Well then you ignored the entire point of the video. We know Venom is techinically Big Boss. But that's not the point of the video. We're talking about the REAL Big Boss. Since all Venom ever was to Liquid was incredibly nice. So if we go by him never have met Big Boss, then why the hell is Liquid lying?
Solidus himself told the information was inside Jack's cerebral cortex and of course they would need to kill him and make an autopsy due to reach the cerebral cortex were the information was supposed to be as residuals of the neural link the nanomachines and Arsenal Gear's AI GW formed while the Big Shell incident took place, so that's why they didn't my friend.
I get it, it's fun to theorize, but tbh you are thinking about this much more than Kojima did. The story got too convoluted in the end and things added up to unavoidable, inevitable contradictions and plot holes. I wouldn't think too far into it.
I think Eli was convinced Venom was his real father, not knowing he was a doppelganger to look like the real Big Boss. Even if he was a clone, he'd be convincing enough to be Big Boss. As Ocelot says in one of the tapes, you couldn't just transplant the mind of another person on to another, but you could do so with hypnotic suggestions. I would imagine the time during which Venom was in a 9 year coma they delivered hypnotic suggestions to him, because he's in a vegetative state and still aware of the world around you but can't wake up, and they take advantage of that fact and implanted the idea he was truly Big Boss.
8:46 like you said... Venom was kind to Eli, but you can see that he (eli) clearly doesnt like defeat.
When we try to Remember things that happened when we were Kids sometimes concepts and ideas get lost in the Memory or they get misinterpreted.
If we take both of these things in consideration It kinda makes sense:
Adult Liquid, blinded by hatred and the memories of when he was just a child, misinterpreted what venom said to him during his time at mother base.

Maybe in 10 or 20 years when Konami is selling off the last of its assets before dying. I'm surprised there hasn't been a fan project remaking them... I guess MGS plot is not something people want to touch because anything not from Kojima is just fan fiction.

The first little hint that Liquid was the superior clone afterall.
that was kazhura miller😂
There was a huge missed opportunity for Eli to yell "You're not my dad!" at Venom.
I thought he did say something like that
No, Kingdom of the Flies alludes to Eli really believing Venom was Big Boss.
The best answer
Does anyone think about how Raiden & Liquid share a similar backstory.
Jack the Ripper being an African child soldier under Solidus. Eli an African soldier child taken in by Venom.
Both are false Big Boss, and both were mentored by them in some way. And both gain resentment towards them.
Pretty sure that was intentional and due to the Patriots meddling in things.

_"You, me... we're all Big Boss now."_
He certainly met *_a_* Big Boss.
I know Kojima’s not involved anymore but a game surrounding Liquid would be cool. At least a comic or something
Liquid snake only ever meet vemom snake
A doppelganger of the real big boss
The reason that's difficult to believe is that Liquid's lines about Big Boss in MGS1 don't really reflect the interactions we saw between Venom and Eli. It makes much more sense if at some later point Liquid met the real Big Boss who was mean to him.
A copy father and a copy son, honestly it's the kind of poetic dumbassery we love Kojima for.
@@GrimmShadowsII there is retcon but that's not one of them
mg 1 and 2 give big room for interpretation of the events, including that what we play is an uffcial recollection of the events, so some details only who was directly invested knows, that aside even beeing a bit of a stretch, i'm absolutely not sure what's so hard to belive about the characters meeting and knowing each other off screen
Liquid possibly could have later on, at no point does Venom actually call Liquid inferior.
@@NeverKetamine This is incredibly unfounded logic. The franchise is generally well received around the world.
The point of the series is there's no real "Bad Guy" just who you're fighting at the moment whether by choice or manipulation.
Venom didnt properly discipline Liquid enough. They let him walk away sassy all the time.
Thevoicebox, do you think venom snake met solidus snake in liberia and taught the arts of CQC? Since Solidus is such a competent fighter
no but i tell you something, if he did that would of been epic, i was kinda hoping for an appearance of solidus in mgsv
That's a great question

Solid was the inferior
(See MGS secret ending)
Liquid's death is even sadder as he falls to the hands of Fox Die while being on the verge of killing Solid Snake, which was probably Ocelot's plan from the get go.
I have this idea that they never meet the real big boss and is still a life but never play snatcher
Liquid is an irredeemable narcissist. Venom Snake actually did care for him. But he's too petulant and bitchy to realize it.
I want there to be a reference to liquid snake in a remake of metal gear 1987.

Liquid or Eli never even met the actual Big Boss, he only met Venom and truth be told he didn't know the real Big Boss was so called cloned.
As far as we know he only met venom snake
I was gonna say mgs phantom pain but.. yeah don’t want to spoil
Big boss was Abraham
We don't know but we know he met Venom Snake.
So Liquid was in DNUOHXOF just as Skull Face was in XOF?
Liquid(Eli Sears) met Big Boss's phantop Venom Snake
It's unlikely Sears was his last name that was probably just given to Soldius since he needed a name to become President even if he was put there by the Patriots. I doubt Kojima was trying to say Sears was Big Boss's real last name. Also after the events of Phantom Pain there's atleast a decade before the end of Metal Gear 2 where Big Boss ends up in his coma until MGS4. Plenty of time for him to possibly meet Big Boss but impossible to say for sure.
I assume you can make another video titled DID OCELOT EVER KNOW HE IS THE SON OF THE BOSS?
Wish MGSV was properly finished. Probably would’ve given us a lot more clues to this
Even if it did there's still plenty of time for stuff to happen. He was what 15 at the oldest in PP that still leaves a couple decades until MGS. I'm not sure how old they're supposed to be in MGS but I feel safe in guessing 30s maybe even 40s.
I can't really understand how liquid snake is the better clone over solid?
I’m praying after mgs 3 remake they make mgs1 and 2 remakes and peace walker omg a peace walker remake would be so goood!!! I hope mgs 3 remake sells like hot cakes
Yes. But Big Boss never consciously met Liquid Snake.
One thing i perplexed is how liquid snake learned the malay language, which i speak. I wonder what kind of malay dialect he speak, maybe kelantanese 😂
Well, he met one.
I wonder if it's feasible and enough to work with to give Liquid Snake his own Metal Gear game? Or even some sort of "nanomachines" retcon ass-pull post Metal Gear Rising? 🥴
There's definitely enough time between PP and MGS seeing as Solid had 2 games between them but Konami still has the rights and I doubt theydo anything with them except re releases after the disaster of survival.
big boss no but Venom snake he did meet in Afrika that kid is Liquid but Venom was acting as Big Boss.
Did you really not bother watching the video before commenting?
Snake / Big Boss is based on Kurt Russell. He is the real OG of that hair
Let me be frank: Venom Snake IS Big Boss. No, he is not Naked Snake Big Boss, but he is Big Boss all the same. So in a sense, yes, Liquid has met Big Boss.
From a certain point of view
The real question is did he know Venom Snake was not the real Big Boss aka his father, and did he know about his origin at the time of Phantom Pain or not until sometime around MGS, the same as Solid Snake.
Hes a big boss, not THE big boss
Well then you ignored the entire point of the video. We know Venom is techinically Big Boss. But that's not the point of the video. We're talking about the REAL Big Boss. Since all Venom ever was to Liquid was incredibly nice. So if we go by him never have met Big Boss, then why the hell is Liquid lying?
Damn snake didn't win.... Fox die did.
why didnt snake and otacon look through raiden's body for the patriots' location like solidus was going to do if he'd won?
because they would have to kill raiden
@@replsortech2012 Wasn't it just in his nanomachines, though? That would just require some blood
@@MediaKingdom1981 OK, yeah. It's been a long time
@@MediaKingdom1981 somehow EVA was able to though
I still have hope to see an MGSVI with Big Boss’s perspective of building Outer Heaven
A new metal gear og or 1 can piss off for all I care.
After all, in the end.....
Konami were the patriots.... 😞
I get it, it's fun to theorize, but tbh you are thinking about this much more than Kojima did. The story got too convoluted in the end and things added up to unavoidable, inevitable contradictions and plot holes. I wouldn't think too far into it.
There is NO MGS 5
no he's not...
*he's
@@mycardboardbox thanx Bro, my miss
Dear Liquid Snake AKA Elisha.
You are inferior.
P.S I choose you.
Sincerely yours Big Boss.
Just gonna say, liquid did not meet big boss. In MGS 5 Big boss was a double brainwashed to believe he was big boss. So say no. :)
Liquid was also rescued, brought back, and eventually joined FOXHOUND which was under the command of Big Boss at the time.
Ley zanfants teyreebl
liquid loses in MGS1 because his memetics overcame his genetics. his programming was that he was inferior to solid snake.
If Konami someday decanonize MGS5 I will forgive them for everything
Venom my arse
