that is not much of a discount at all. if you're serious about working out and already willing to spend $850 on a rower, why not just pay the extra $150 for the more premium concept 2 that has a great, long lasting reputation?
This is BoS whole problem in a nutshell. Most of their stuff is just copies (not new, dramatic, different, innovative) but it's like 90% of the price of the thing that's being copied. For only 10% off, why not get the real thing? BoS needs a rethink of their whole marketing idea. it either needs to be MUCH cheaper (Titan) or innovative and different.
Depends on the product space. In some places, like their barbells, or cardio gear I 100% agree. In other places, they really do seem willing to push the envelope- I’m thinking of my Reverse Hammer dual reverse hyper / GHD for example. I genuinely think it’s one of the best versions of those on the market ATM relative to space/cost/functionality.
Bells of steel yoke is the best minimalist budget friendly rack hands down. Nothing on the market compares in terms of space friendliness until you get to PRX, but that’s a completely different price point. If you’re serious about squatting, you’d never use those standalone racks which are the only products that are cheaper than the yoke, and arguably more space efficient.
Hey coop I love your channel, I don't know if you would ever do this. But a standing heavy bag stand for boxing would be great. As a lot them are cheap and cant hold heavy weight.
To be honest, it doesn't seem that much cheaper than the C2. I would rather spend the little extra and get something tried and tested. Additionally, C2s are renowned for having a full array of spare parts on their website. Getting the C2 is a no brainer!
Good review how do you feel about those old school rowers if they even make those any more, at least with those you could do certain variations such as 3 separate consecutive rows with your left arm then your right
Wow, I just looked at their website and the weight capacity is also 180 pounds less than the Concept 2 Rower, is the build quality really that much worse but they still charge almost the same price?
@GarageGymReviews Coop how bout Vs. review of all the knock offs, compare them in quality, Bluetooth/Bluetooth with FTMS/Ant+ connectivity comparison of the metrics, App compatibility across for all of them to price comparison. The Murtisol is no longer on Amazon but have found Black Tusk rower Airgo rowers(Model b and 8.0) online, Vulcan Scull and Viking Pro Air/Mag shipping included in the last 2.
I don't think copyrights apply to the design. I think that would be patents which typically expire 20 years or sooner. I don't know when C2's design patent took effect, but it has obviously expired. Maybe a patent attorney that knows more about this will chime in.
Thought the same thing. Donny Thompson wrote a post a while back about BOS stealing designs for his fat pad. Sounds like some of these companies are pretty shady.
C2 is the way to go. Good interactive monitor that can pair with your phone and Apple Watch. You can buy parts online if needed they have great customer service. Plus online competitions and daily workouts with leaderboard for motivation. I have the all skier bike and rower…
Its not that much less in price and after hearing the differences the value is definitely not there in comparison to the C2. I already have a C2 so I can't be swayed anyway.
The PM5 monitor is the absolute reason why you go with the Concept 2 over all of these copy cats. Stick with the authentic versions. You can make them look the same but they are not the same… biggest difference…. The monitors accuracy and dependability of the C2 make it a Ergometer- which means you can accurately measure performance. Second part that makes the increased cost valuable is the community with C2. You can place your session into the computer and see where you stand for your rowing performance compared to other folks- I have coached a Rower with 3 WORLD RECORDS on the concept 2. I can see her performance when she sends me her info. DONT BOTHER WITH “BELLS OF STEEL- go with the C2 for all of their pieces. I also have the BIKE ERG and SKI ERG. And all the monitors talk to one another so you can do a triathlon with the 3 of them…….. oh and yes -air is resistance! 😊
I think the issue is Bells of Steel is trying to do too much. They should focus on a few products and refine the heck out of them. Rouge does this with Barbells and Racks. I just don't see people buying this when you can get the top of the line for $150 more.
Would you say its worth it if i could get my hands on a new Blitz Rower for $617 plus shipping? Looks like they lowered their price and also, they offer first responders discount.
Dead on review. C2's are just overbuilt and top notch equipment. It is going to take a pretty innovative design and price point to knock them off the hill that they have been king of for so long. Many have tried...all have failed.
Even if it was just as good, that is not enough dough less than the C2 to get me to buy a foreign made competitor to a Vermont made product that practically invented the category.
I think the C2 is, for what u get, so cheap, it just can't be beat. I don't get what other companys are thinking when they throw these "expensive" knockoffs on the market.
Having no track record for durability and reliability it sure is close to the price of a concept2. Usually when a company puts something out that offers nothing new, and has no track record, they start off with a much lower price than the comparative model. Way overpriced.
Wouldnt biy it bcoz of the foot straps and monitor, new technogym rowers are better than concept 2...i used the technogym when on holiday in lanzarote and amsterdam and loved it

fr, fr. I saw the price and was like...why not just get a concept 2 for not that much more money?
I agree
That what I did with the air bike. Bells shows a cheaper air bike but rogue offers free shipping making them pretty much the same price lol
and the C2 has been around forever, so you can find a barely used one for $600
Best investment I ever made was a concept 2 rower. Love my rower.

A hundred dollars difference isn’t enough to make me even consider it tbh. Concept 2 all the way.
same love my C2 best investment I ever made
Waiting to snatch up a C2 this fall season and beyond.
Ty coop for being honest as always
If you haven't, could you review some water rowers. Thanks
Review the Freak Athlete Nordic Hyper GHD.
Coop, do you think Concept2 has any new products in development?
Concept3 you heard it here first !
They should have made the damper go to 11. Missed opportunity.
Hey coop I love your channel, I don't know if you would ever do this. But a standing heavy bag stand for boxing would be great. As a lot them are cheap and cant hold heavy weight.
My one complaint is that the C2 handle is upside down in all of the B-roll in this video.
To be honest, it doesn't seem that much cheaper than the C2. I would rather spend the little extra and get something tried and tested. Additionally, C2s are renowned for having a full array of spare parts on their website. Getting the C2 is a no brainer!
FYI If you’re a street parking member, you can get a new white concept 2 rower for 800$
I am looking forward to getting a Concept 2 rowERG (model D).
Good review how do you feel about those old school rowers if they even make those any more, at least with those you could do certain variations such as 3 separate consecutive rows with your left arm then your right
Wait, i was so exicted for this... But concept 2 is 990.... and 1200 for taller. Only 100bucks diff.... damn it ;(

The monitor is everything for a solid workout...C2 had for Years!
How do these companies not get sued for copyright infringement?

Do the York R350! Curious which is better
I saw you sliding and smiling like ten times on the intro it made me laugh the way you laughed at it hahahaha.
No thx, I will go with the C2
Can you review the Vulcan Scull Rower?

I feel like companies need to stop trying to beat, or even match C2. It isn't happening.
I think the issue is Bells of Steel is trying to do too much. They should focus on a few products and refine the heck out of them. Rouge does this with Barbells and Racks. I just don't see people buying this when you can get the top of the line for $150 more.
Can you review the xterra650 water rower
I smell a lawsuit from concept2. Looks exactly like their rower.
Buy once cry once. Never go cheap with home gym equipment, or you'll regret it day 1.
Would you say its worth it if i could get my hands on a new Blitz Rower for $617 plus shipping?

I don't think that it will ever be possible, the C2 is really cheap for what u get.
Seems like they are similar price. Neither budget priced.
Even if it was just as good, that is not enough dough less than the C2 to get me to buy a foreign made competitor to a Vermont made product that practically invented the category.

Link or name of those free-standing colored LED lamps in your gym? Thank you.
If i want a row machine id just do some cable rows on a skate board😂

Significantly lower price than the concept 2? Umm, no.
why doesn't he look at the camera?
Should be about $700 to be worth a true "budget option" from the C2. Lame
Get the real thing.
Wouldnt biy it bcoz of the foot straps and monitor, new technogym rowers are better than concept 2...i used the technogym when on holiday in lanzarote and amsterdam and loved it
$50 cheaper? lol
