I understand that the Gohonzon mandala is a key element in Nichiren Buddhist practice. Does anyone know if different Gohonzon have difference characteristics or transformational ability? There are standard size paper Gohonzon, small travel one that fit in the pocket and even a solid wooden one I found on eBay for the same cost as the paper ones. www.ebay.com/itm/-/262532086749? Which is best or is it just a matter of individual preference? What size do most people have? Is $170 a good price for a solid wood one?
If buddha is not a deity or doesn’t have any authority like of God? What is the purpose of all of these rituals? Who cause it to have some form of powers? Whats? The reason of all of these elaborate display & rituals?? It’s NONESENSE... what’s the meanings of bells? Colors? & drums? How does in help someone in reality? If prayers? Are offered ? To whom? Who created the whole system of samsara? Who causes it to work? Who Controls & sustains the perfect laws of Nature & the Whole Universe? Who put buddha in his status of Enlightenment? Who gave him enlightenment ? Sure the only answer to that is the Ultimate Being.. the Perfect, unique & eternal One. That is God. All your efforst and rituals are meaningless and are nonesense if u deny the obvious necessity of the existence of God. Not the gods in your pantheons who are temporal... but the EternaL but the Eternal Transcendent One who is the Source of Morality and Goodness. The Holy One. Above all.
If your god loves you so much, why does he puts you through all this suffering? You just call it nonsense because your conceptional mind doesn’t understand Buddhism. In every religion there is dogma but tibetan buddhism has a lot of it. If you look at other traditions, you‘ll soon find out that buddhism isn’t just a belief system - no. You can directly experience what the Buddha taught by following the 8 fold path, the 4 noble truths and buddhist meditation. Cheers
