At 17 I couldn't see past the next weekend and what I was going to do to make enough money for beer that weekend, I ended up making some bad choices and spent some time in jail with 7 dollars to my name. while there I knew that's not where I was headed. I was forced to drop out of school so I took night classes at a trade school to learn how to weld. I saved up enough to be able to buy the equipment I own today. At 20 years old with a family I am bringing home somewhere in the neighborhood of 180k a year. Confidence, Dedication, Passion, optimism, and drive.
i started a landscaping when i was 14 and had it till i was 19 its was good money! then i decided to open another business and sold the lawn business! im 33 now and planning on my next business venture!

I just stumbled across this video. I truly hope it inspires a few young people to get out there and make their own destiny! I'm going to share this with some of young people I know.
I'm 14 and I started by just doing a basic mowing at my neighbors for 20 dollars a week and my neighbors notice me mowing and and was starting to ask me to do jobs for them and I would for like 15 to 20 and mow some other lawns and make 20 so this summer I've accumulated over 500 dollars hard work truly does pay off
hey man I'm 14 started my lawn business when I was 11 and I would love to be on one of your videos and share the tips and tricks I used to start and build my business
Awesome! Good to hear peoples stories. Personally i'm 15 with over 60 snow removal customers and had about 30 lawns last summer as well as aeration, fertilization, and clean ups. Running a jd 3046r tractor, walker b23i, and lots of other smaller equipment
I'm 17 and run a small logging business. I cut the logs I get into boards and then sell the things I make in my shop locally. I plan on doing more advertising because I feel that could bring in new customers. I learned a few things from this. Thanks for the video!
I am 16 years old and have a landscaping and design business. I have a commercial ZTR mowers as well as a commercial blower and trimmer. I apply fertilizer, herbicides and pesticides as well and hardscaping as well as designing, installing and maintaining irrigation systems. I have 20 to 25 accounts weekly, most properties are over 1 acer.
I am 17 and just started last fall. I've steadily purchased more equipment (backpack blowers hedge trimmers lawn mowers exc), I'm in the process of buying a dump truck with a plow. I made all the money myself and bought everything myself, only guidance from my dad who is a contractor. I'm working on a pond, waterfall, and a few other good size projects this year. My customer base grows weekly through friends in the business and word of mouth. These videos are awesome and so helpful to me trying to expand.
I am 13, and make about $35,000 a year. I mow for 22 people, and have dozens of landscaping jobs. I have installed fire pits, retaining walls, mulch beds, and garden ponds. I do shrub trimming as well as sod. My company is growing fast, as well as my crew of people. I have 3 people working with/for me. I hope to continue to grow and pick up customers.
Wow dude I started lawn care when I was 11 and now I'm making around $2500 a year and am getting more equipment for it also and getting into landscaping soon! I am 13 now but I'm like geek to freak no employees I plan on getting one to drive me around when I get a ford. Glad you're working and keep the good work up I'm jealous of you I hope you achieve your goals
I started full time a little after I graduated. my best source was Next door and the Facebook neighborhood page. I started with a small push mower and fit everything in my 92 ford explorer. 4 months later after going full time, I had about 32 clients. I bought my truck and the next day my 32 inch walk behind. I thought I was doing good , and I was, but your book was fantastic and because of you and the help of the others in my life, I know this year will be amazing.
In Minnesota it snows 5 months of the year. Starts in November and snows in May-sometimes. So we plow in the winter-great money if you know what your doing!

Inspirational stuff. These youngsters have done very well for themselves however I would usually prefer to employ someone experienced depending on the job. If it's just mowing lawns or washing cars then it's not a massive issue but with a lot of landscaping there's things professionals take into account and young green beginners might not. The second guy you interviewed when you showed some pictures, the trees were over mulched and would encourage the bases to rot because they can't breathe through that thick mulch at the base. Thanks for the upload.
This is true. It is rare for you to find someone who knows how to take care of the lawn, trees, and etc. The problem comes when the clients finally noticed you did something wrong, and start to wonder whether you know what you are doing. This is a plus however because the problem is most likely not to happen again. And yes, those that depend on the job and have good experience are most likely to do a better job(I've seen it happen).
If you know that is a possibility, all you have to do is tell your client you will research their question, or if it is a job you aren't sure about how to do, do some googling to learn. That, plus your local ag extension service can be your friend. And you can always partner with a larger service for fertilizing and pesticide/herbicide treatments if you haven't got the skill or the license. We started last year, and have addressed every situation by researching it online before we told our client what we would do and why. And it has never backfired. Doesn't take long to learn about mulch volcanoes, what are all possible causes of lawn browning off, how to power edge, proper bush trimming techniques, or any of that stuff. We aren't living in the 1800's...it's all there if you just look for it, and don't act like all you know is all there is to know. And many of our customers have been burned by careless or indifferent larger services, and appreciate our willingness to be attentive to their concerns. So it can be a good thing to go with someone who is new but smart enough to be careful about both the customer and the techniques.
That was great! I am 15, seeing their success at their age is real motivating. It kills me seeing so many kids not actually doing something with their life. I hope someone sees this and starts a business of their own! Thank you for this video, it is true motivation for me to work harder.
Awesome video Stanley currently trying to grow my business. Can't wait till I'm running it full time still in high school but will be doing a lot of work this year
lol this is fake. no way that kid can get a loan for a 70k truck sorry but he has had major help from his rich parents. nice click bait. but you get a thumbs down cause none of what that first kid said is true.
NOPE- he started from scratch and reinvested. I did the same thing decades ago. Had nothing and just kept putting everything I made back into the company for over 20 years. He has been doing the same for over 5 years now.
He could of gotten the loan from a rich family member but it doesn't matter it was a loan and he paid it off. Now he makes a good income and not even out of high school. He will still be a millionaire in his next few years.
I've made my first business. It's a lawn maintenance business. I stated of just mowing lawns but now I do a lot more. If scone my money profit go straight up. It's not very big and popular and I don't plan it I to be that way. I thank you for your help with small business making for kids
Where did they get their start up money? You just don't have a shovel and rake to do landscaping, lots of equipment. They get that money from dad and mom? Are their parents well off to give them the money?
Ok- I have also heard drug houses called-Traphouses. What other names do they use now a days? I would like to know so I can keep my kids away from that stuff.
Or saving up the birthday money, getting a job at a family friend's business, or maybe even their rich parents. It doesn't matter if you do not have the startup money the only thing that will do is delay your process. Even with this you should not just think you can not be successful because you don't have the starting funds. The glass is half full and start thinking that way.
you have no idea what you're saying lol...it's honestly astonishing how you think...you need money to make money...thats where the term "the rich stay rich" came from
I have started a lawn care business. I just started with a lawn mower and some hand tools. I borrowed a few things from people I knew, and eventually my business grew. I now have extended my range of what I do to felling trees and redoing driveways, leveling ground, and more. So yeah, I started with a few things that went mine but I eventually paid back (with interest) the use of those tools and now I am able to afford my own things. I did this on what I would say my own without much help. You don't need rich parents if you have drive.
I am 15 years old and have been in business for 1 year. Beginning of the year all I had was my john deere lawn tractor and a trailer for that and a couple other tools. I drove around my neighborhood with that for the first month or two. Then mid season I brought my dad into the business with his truck and my grandpas little old trailer. We ran with that for a month or two again. At the end of the season I had 14 accounts and a 16' trailer I had paid cash for brand new. Having ambition when your first start out is one of the most important things. Every other kid when school started was bragging about there summer job at the local restaurant of working for a family member making 10$ an hour. I didn't (but should've) mentioned that i was making around 40$ and hour on the days that we mowed, even more on other jobs. By the end of this crazy summer I had made around 2800$ total and almost all of it was reinvested into the business. Neither me or my father made a dime all summer. I would rather have a fleet of brand new equipment than that much money in my pocket any day for sure. Go check out my instagram @nathanmyerslandscaping
Nathan Myers Woah! Just looked at your Instagram! Boi you've been working hard! Did your hard work pay off? How much money do you make every year , that you get to keep, Im curious.
thank you so much for putting this video out. it's nice to see encouraging videos for kids to go out and make something of themselves and get immersed in something positive that they can construct with their own hands
Good video. The thumbnail and name of the video made me expect some businesses where the teenagers were just fronts for their parents businesses or where the parents knew of a market opening up and loaned their kids the funds and gave them the whole business model. I've seen too many of those. This one was a pleasant surprise. Cheers to them and I wish them all the best and I also feel a healthy dose of jealousy.
Try 3D modeling. Just start of from some tutorials and you'll get better and better. You won't make hardly any money at first, and it's a super slow start, but by the time you finish a few jobs, and have lots of good reviews, you can actually get some really good clients. You might even get hired by an Indie start up business.
so you are a freelancer? i though that the best way to work online was via web design, because you can work at home or get hired by a local agency +work at home, because it's a long term work as a freelancer, and you can have more free time than others and work almost whenever you want, the thing is that i still don't understand where to start, and must of all, where to learn what you need to be a good web designer
***** I was talking about 3d modeling. But doing web design is difficult, especially since there are so many free sites and stuff. Finding work is the hard part. Basically just look at some freelancing websites and they'll have jobs posted. Without much a of a base, either a degree or a portfolio, you'll be stuck doing some pretty cheap sites at times. If you have any local businesses where you live, tell them you can make them a website for $100. As to where to start to get good, RUclips tutorials and such is a good place to look. Look at popular sites and try to mimic something like their design. But if someone asks for previous material, and you have none, they'll only pay you about $25, even if it's a pretty good website. Nonetheless, don't skimp out, otherwise they won't ask for your help again when they need a new page or an update to the site. Make sure they pay you ahead of time though, and maybe even make your own site where they can request a job. Also be aware that a lot of people will ask you for a website, but may not like the end result and try to ask you to refine it. Tell them that you'll send a sketched draft, and do that, that way you don't have to go back and destroy all the hard work you've done. Hope it helps.
Believe it or not, you can pretty easily get a full time job in web design using free programs. A friend of mine just started making $15 an hour doing it and he's just 19. The temp agency got them hookupz lol. Thought about doing freelance programming, but it's a god damn battlefield amongst professors and top-ranking competitive programmers
thank you guys for the answers, it really helped me, my idea was to learn everything related to web design at first,(now i live in italy and is a shitty place) then when i will move (alone) somewhere like canada or maybe russia (i have a friend there) i'll search for local agencies and if i find one hopefully i will work both there and at home. but it's really hard because i will have to pay rent, and to find a job that maybe won't be enough, i hope just that in some years (when i will already live somewhere else) I will establish economically, and i will never worry again over how to pay rent ahahahah. anyway ty guys hope it works!
i started mowing lawns when i was 2 and i was always on the bottom bar helping neighbor to push. and iv been mowing lawns ever since that day that i started and that was 10 years ago and i still have that mower that i used but i'm giving it to my uncle cause my grandpa just got me one with a bag and 2wd an it mulches
I'm 16 and two weeks ago I started selling screen protectors and cases at my school and I've made $300. I think I'm gonna start selling food too!! Donuts, most people like them💪🏻😂
I've listened to your interview with Cullen Green 3 times now. I love the story about how he bought a truck in 7th grade and had to hire someone to drive it.
Great video! I love hard working young people! I'm 18 and own my own landscaping business! I am currently running 2 trucks, one skid steer, and one mini excavator! I hope to put a 3rd truck on the road by next month! Anyone can make their dreams come true as long as they believe in themselves! -Clean Cut Lawns and Landscaping
i actualy have my own landscape and cunstruction company called Tim & Nick's landscape and cunstruction im 17 i only have 22 accounts but for lawn cuts but we also do small cunstruction jobs like shed fenses garadges im still in high school and want to continue to gro i think its great that there are kids out there just like me building something from the ground up.
*★☞ I have never allowed the loss of my job to be an issue. I would have still left the job sooner or later. This site has been amazing [Check Details Here⇒>☞★☞**t.co/5JxIwKDD5D** ]. i am being paid for voicing my opinion. Paid survey surely rocks!*
I'm only 13 and I have many buisuisnesse ideas studying researching estate housing entrepeuter the stock market and more... Age is only a number p.s sorry for bad spellings 😌 have a good mindset to succeed
i just made my first run and already sold out in 3 days i cant keep up with demand and cant afford to pay for workers rn if this rate keeps up ill be making 109500$ per year if i can make it on demand
Great interviews! I really enjoyed their perspectives. I ran my own landscape business part time during high school, but I decided to go with education over continuing my business. I'm a horticulture and landscape design student at a university now, and have an internship with a multi-million dollar company this summer.
I am currently 14 years old, and I haven't made quite as much as they have, but still what I have made is quite a lot for a 14 year old. I started my business when I was 9, and my profits have been doubling every year. I mostly do lawn mowing and laying mulch, but this year I had two hardscaping jobs. They looked great.
I'm 17 too and am trying to gross 50k this year with my mowing business alongside school, however I'd like to be "out of the truck" before I go to cellege. Did you happen to ask Cullen for any tips on hiring employees that are much older than yourself? p.s. Awesome video with lots of great info, it's cool to see other young business owners like myself!
+Riley Marvin I did not ask about the hiring older employees thing- Thats a great question. I started my company when I was 20 and hired older people all the time. It was uncomfortable(slightly) but I quickly got over it.
Started mowing when I was 11. Now 18 years later I retain some of the original customers I had back then. One thing about operating as a teenager is its hell of a lot easier to buy equipment and make good profits when you are living under your parents roof. When you put a chunk of money down on a house and make a mortgage payment every month that's when everything changes. Good luck to all those guys. Good to see there may be some hope for their generation.
Stanley, i havent put as much time in as everyone else, but i have made enough money from very part time snow removal to buy myself a decent snowblower... There just isnt a lot of snow in Denver. I am 18, and have in the last month shifted my focus to my RUclips channel, and working lots of hours on the farm in the summers.
"They are going to share there success stories". Yet every one leaves out the part that made it all possible, well off parents. Your thumbnail made it look like they were out shoveling and working to start there business. Then you see it and realize how they actually got started.
Okay this has been a prolonged idea that I have been wanting to dwell on. So right now I have no business, absolutely nothing. To build a landscape business what kinds of things do I need to get started? And how to I target my intended audience who are people who need landscaping done? How do I start? Who do I hire? How to I target those people?
start with your neighborhood. Simple tool are ll you need. Reinvest after you get income from your initial jobs to buy better equipment. That how I built my company.
My advice to you all is. buy products that you may sell for more. if you see everybody wants something, the only thing thats stops to make you a rich guy is to find what they want for a cheap price, then sell it a bit higher than the normal price of buying. or look at what you have got home, are you a crazy of sneakers? sell it on ebay for more then you bought it. or search for shoes that are cheap and then sell it for more.
I mean it's motivational to see people so young become so successful but this video offers no real advice that isn't completely obvious lol. Everything said here is a given with no real valuable details.
that highschool junior looks like a 30 year old man
It was the crappy camera and angle.
Only in America - here in Europe that would be pretty rare if not down right impossible. Well done to those kids.

Well said!

Horrible advice you fuck

That was great! I am 15, seeing their success at their age is real motivating. It kills me seeing so many kids not actually doing something with their life. I hope someone sees this and starts a business of their own! Thank you for this video, it is true motivation for me to work harder.
+JC'sLawnTips I hope it helps and thanks for watching!
+Stanley "Dirt Monkey" Genadek Everything you post helps! I will always watch your videos!

Awesome video Stanley currently trying to grow my business. Can't wait till I'm running it full time still in high school but will be doing a lot of work this year
+N and M Landscaping Good luck in 2016!
lol this is fake. no way that kid can get a loan for a 70k truck sorry but he has had major help from his rich parents. nice click bait. but you get a thumbs down cause none of what that first kid said is true.
He will still be a millionaire in his next few years.
yeah but you can't really fail if you were born in success
ThisOnePlayerKeepsKickingMy Ass have you tried meth? guaranteed fail will ensue.
The people who say it can't be done are the people who will never do it.
I've made my first business. It's a lawn maintenance business. I stated of just mowing lawns but now I do a lot more. If scone my money profit go straight up. It's not very big and popular and I don't plan it I to be that way. I thank you for your help with small business making for kids
I'm 19 depressed and no motivation rip
Get help-you don't have to live like that.

You're too young to be depressed
+Dr. Strange well said.
Don't smoke weed. My friend started smoking weed and he kept getting lazier and lazier. Last I heard he was homeless.
Where did they get their start up money? You just don't have a shovel and rake to do landscaping, lots of equipment. They get that money from dad and mom? Are their parents well off to give them the money?
Improvise I guess
Zents Gaming
yeah bro🤣🤣🤣its all a setup, they feel like getting start up money doesnt help them
I became a traplord
whats a trap lord?
Where did the name Traplord come from?
Ok- I have also heard drug houses called-Traphouses. What other names do they use now a days? I would like to know so I can keep my kids away from that stuff.
He is lost lmao
+Bass Boosts he's lying^ your kids will usually say they're going to study or church. That's what I do it works every time doe
How did they get the start up money? I know the answer your just not saying it.
Lawn
mommy and daddy are rich
Go get em Nathan!
Nathan Myers Woah! Just looked at your Instagram! Boi you've been working hard! Did your hard work pay off? How much money do you make every year , that you get to keep, Im curious.
Nathan Myers Much respect to you also love. Ignore the idiot drug dealing comments, you are actually going places, good for you. :)
Hi Stanley , I'm 19 and own my own landscaping business - LTK Gardening , I employ my father and have another full time worker , . And I love it .
+Luke Kinnersly Awesome- good luck in 2016!
Martin garrix made 18 million in 1 year at 18 lol
macguy7900 how?? Stock?
thank you so much for putting this video out. it's nice to see encouraging videos for kids to go out and make something of themselves and get immersed in something positive that they can construct with their own hands
+Joel Blanco Yes- there are many kids on the right track. Its good to see.
Thanks- These kids are earning it on their own.
Seeing these kids success, makes me feel a lot better about the future of this country.
Try 3D modeling. Just start of from some tutorials and you'll get better and better. You won't make hardly any money at first, and it's a super slow start, but by the time you finish a few jobs, and have lots of good reviews, you can actually get some really good clients. You might even get hired by an Indie start up business.
Do you have any more info on this?
so you are a freelancer? i though that the best way to work online was via web design, because you can work at home or get hired by a local agency +work at home, because it's a long term work as a freelancer, and you can have more free time than others and work almost whenever you want, the thing is that i still don't understand where to start, and must of all, where to learn what you need to be a good web designer
Thought about doing freelance programming, but it's a god damn battlefield amongst professors and top-ranking competitive programmers
thank you guys for the answers, it really helped me, my idea was to learn everything related to web design at first,(now i live in italy and is a shitty place) then when i will move (alone) somewhere like canada or maybe russia
(i have a friend there) i'll search for local agencies and if i find one hopefully i will work both there and at home.
but it's really hard because i will have to pay rent, and to find a job that maybe won't be enough, i hope just that in some years (when i will already live somewhere else) I will establish economically, and i will never worry again over how to pay rent ahahahah.
anyway ty guys hope it works!
Omagosh! I am 18 and just sit around it seems like. These people are inspirations! It all takes hard work and industry.
WOW I'm Hispanic now ima go move to your area and start landscape bro

+Tyler Katzenmaier Awesome!
Where do you get the money to start?
I would think it could be from a loan
spend money on the right equipment and advertising to generate more business. This video is great love the "on time is late" part.
You don't make money, YOU EARN MONEY!
True!
I've made money before 😂
+topher counterfit
I've listened to your interview with Cullen Green 3 times now. I love the story about how he bought a truck in 7th grade and had to hire someone to drive it.
+kobelcofan I know- its crazy awesome!
i would do this but i live in Arizona and we only have rocks in are front yards. Unless i can cut your rocks for you...
haha ;)
I live in Arizona as well. I've been pulling weeds and digging for neighbors and local residence since 4th grade with older friends. No excuses
landen hamilton How much do you make ?
Depends on the work. Let the customer choose the price. You'll get paid more (if you work your @$$ off and show them you deserve it)
+landen hamilton 😄👍😉

So.. concrete leveling work requires thousands in equipment, and I don't know any adult who will hire a youth over another adult for the same job.

Great interviews! I really enjoyed their perspectives. I ran my own landscape business part time during high school, but I decided to go with education over continuing my business. I'm a horticulture and landscape design student at a university now, and have an internship with a multi-million dollar company this summer.
+Joe Mills Sounds like you found the right path for yourself.
The reason there all land scrapers is because all they did was play minecraft aha
hahahaha
I am currently 14 years old, and I haven't made quite as much as they have, but still what I have made is quite a lot for a 14 year old. I started my business when I was 9, and my profits have been doubling every year. I mostly do lawn mowing and laying mulch, but this year I had two hardscaping jobs. They looked great.
Very cool! Glad to hear your growing.
I make 15k a year landscaping... I'm a junior...
I got all my jobs from the nexdoor app and could make a ton more money if I didn't play soccer and had school
Nice😃👍
I make around 20k a year, and I'm a senior
wtf is landscaping
I make 50k a year im 16 and I pleasure women
Ha! Just stumbled upon your channel. Hello from the "Dirt Rooster".
Cool!
How do you sell a buisness then what do you do when you sell it like what about the employess
simply put---they all go to the new owner
Only thing that changes is the owner.
Either the employees go to the new owner or the new owner chooses to hire new ones
Those are All good answers.
Their*
You've got to spell correctly, mate.
They're (They are)
Their (explains ownership/possession)
There (explains a distance, or location)
This concludes YOUR lesson in grammar.
Not to you specifically, FaLL. The world.
DAXSOCIAL It's cool. Thanks for explaining the grammar for him. :P
Thanks guys!
No problem. Just trying to help you maintain a professional presence
+coupescuts True- life gets tougher as you get older ;)
I do people's hw
Ricardo Moreno for how much, please respond I want to do this
garrett Did you start? How much did you charge?
Stanley, i havent put as much time in as everyone else, but i have made enough money from very part time snow removal to buy myself a decent snowblower... There just isnt a lot of snow in Denver. I am 18, and have in the last month shifted my focus to my RUclips channel, and working lots of hours on the farm in the summers.
+Parker Jessen Ambition is the key- keep driving!
Thanks Stanley!
"They are going to share there success stories". Yet every one leaves out the part that made it all possible, well off parents. Your thumbnail made it look like they were out shoveling and working to start there business. Then you see it and realize how they actually got started.
I landscape too, and since I am 13 the last two were really helpful!
Good!
he sells weed
he's literally cutting the grass- lol
Okay this has been a prolonged idea that I have been wanting to dwell on. So right now I have no business, absolutely nothing. To build a landscape business what kinds of things do I need to get started? And how to I target my intended audience who are people who need landscaping done? How do I start? Who do I hire? How to I target those people?
start with your neighborhood. Simple tool are ll you need. Reinvest after you get income from your initial jobs to buy better equipment. That how I built my company.
Bad interviews. Too forced.
I agree. There was no flow to it.
Look for the positive.
Thank you!
Just finished your book, great great great stuff Stan. Love it
+Ric Becerra Thank you!
Sell drugs
true ^^
how do you make profit tho??
Anthony Felix You buy 2 kgs for like 8 dollars a gram, then you sell 1 and 1 gram for 13 dollars a gram, and you earn big money.
+Lurifaxey 10k..??

My advice to you all is. buy products that you may sell for more. if you see everybody wants something, the only thing thats stops to make you a rich guy is to find what they want for a cheap price, then sell it a bit higher than the normal price of buying. or look at what you have got home, are you a crazy of sneakers? sell it on ebay for more then you bought it. or search for shoes that are cheap and then sell it for more.
I mean it's motivational to see people so young become so successful but this video offers no real advice that isn't completely obvious lol. Everything said here is a given with no real valuable details.
Exactly. Very vague. IMO, seems like they had some sort of help from parents.
+Justa GTR that million dollar loan like Donald trump
Start small. Shovels and rakes. Reinvest everything you make into bigger and better equipment. That's how I started
