When did Opeth, Dissonance in Design and Borknagar have a child together, and why wasn't I invited to the baby shower? This shit is beyond awesome. Cheers from CT.
I love bands who take a new approach to Prog/Tech like this, you guys are outstanding for almost putting out 3 full lengths in 4 years, Veloth is for sure one of my most anticipated albums for 2018
HOLY FUCK this blew my mind. I've listened to this album probably 3 times a day since I heard it first. It's something amazing to hear a band produce a sound that seems unique and is instantly captivating. Obvious talent is displayed so well through the music, through writing and playing. Nicely done, I'm going to buy this when I get a chance.
Best way I can describe this band besides amazing, is this is like a combo of my favorite bands. This album is like The Faceless, Death, Obscura, Decrepit Birth, and a touch of Pink Floyd all in one. Love it.
By the time I reached 'In Our Hearts' on my first play through I already had a copy of this album on its way from Bandcamp. For me at least, the ratio of heavy to technical to progressive nears perfection on this LP. Each successive listen is more satisfying, enlightening and rewarding to an engaged listener than the one before. So glad to have happened upon this.
This album is fucking beyond the creation of a fathomable word to describe what my mind just experienced. During this album, it felt like my brain was being dissected by aliens in an alternate dimension and every nerve of memory and thought was being analyzed, calculated, and reset for a bigger purpose. IDK! I like this album c:
Not Me i feel like this album may be a key to ascend to a higher realm of expression with my musical capabilities. those being those of the guitar. I am with you there, in that place where hyper dimensional enities have found a way to channel mind-fuck possibilities into an audible idea, and placed that into the minds of these nut-fuck musicians for them to share with us fortunate souls; for those of us fortunate enough to have clicked on the right video and be led to this band on this amazing thing we call youtube
Definitely sounds like it. Got a very Opeth sound to that song. It's clear the guitarists love Mikael's style. You can always hear when a band loves Opeth, like when Extol's The Blueprint Dives had a bunch of riffs that sounded like they could have come off of Blackwater Park, bluesy soloing and similar offbeat rhythms and all.
this is a masterpiece of an album. you guys are beyond talented, beyond skilled, and so far above what I aspire to be as a guitarist and musician. this is a serious reminder for me; reminding me to pick my Jackson up out of the corner of my room ( 3 feet from where my head lies on my pillow right now) and do what I habe been Not doing for far too long. I wish I had you two guitarists to give me some sit down lessons man. I'm jealous but I'm not. You guys are definitely in the top 20 most incredible bands in earth existence right now. But please; do you have lyrics to share? online somewhere, or could you possibly share them here?I would be forever greatful
Hey Nethrasz. I've just heard this stuff and although I'm usually more of a BM guy, but this was really interesting. good work! Anyways, if you've got the lyrics, would you mind putting them on encyclopaedia metallum? A lot of people go there for lyrics and their page on this album currrently has "some" lyrics, which is rather irksome.... www.metal-archives.com/albums/The_Ritual_Aura/T%C3%A6ther/605148
When I was a kid in the late 80ties, I thought that was the golden age of metal, and when the 90ties came around, I lost interest and thought metal was dying. Boy, was I wrong.
When I hear metal from the 80's, I kinda think it just sounds like rock lol They act and dress hardcore, but the music is mild. (Kiss for example) Guess they just didn't know how to go hard back then I listened to heavy metal before Was born in '95, but when I first heard actual metal like this in middle school, I was like "who is that?" This guy playing the guitar taught me how to do a pinch harmonic, first song I learned was in dying days by as blood runs black after I bought my own rig
Does anyone else have a bit of a problem with some of the cleans on this album? I love cleans being incorporated into technical death metal like this, but something about these kind off turn me off.
This album art reminds me of the "Pot of Greed" Yugioh card.
Draw two.
Two what?? WhAt DoEs iT dO?
Ghostgate has one of the best guitar work in metal history, don't get tired of it
When did Opeth, Dissonance in Design and Borknagar have a child together, and why wasn't I invited to the baby shower? This shit is beyond awesome. Cheers from CT.

Brian Stone art, in its finest form
art is a form of expression. how is this not art?
guy probably didn't make it past the first song. there is like 4 squeals in the entire album
Wasn't expecting those cleans, but they definitely work for the atmosphere. Great stuff, guys!

Masterpiece...
tech prog death goodness! reminds me of Decrepit Birth, Inanimate Existence, and The Faceless
Wow, I remember the faceless! Time to check if they're still about...
Monolith Preacher driving on my way to see them in about 5 minutes
For me a little of Faceless.
It's been a while since coming back to this one. I remember a big section just kinda lulls for a bit around the middle or end
When I was a kid in the late 80ties, I thought that was the golden age of metal, and when the 90ties came around, I lost interest and thought metal was dying. Boy, was I wrong.
Hesse3 good to hear that from an elite metalhead ;) have the same feeling of metal rising the last ten years. Especially tech and prog stuff.
We're in the golden age of tech death right now, that's for sure.
90s were much better than the 80s imo
@@Cytotoxin_86 mid to late 90s yeah. 96 was a banging year. got decapitated and in my eyes that was the start of tec death
When I hear metal from the 80's, I kinda think it just sounds like rock lol
