If you transfer it then it's ok, but not with cloud data. If you want to keep your save data, you need to make sure your new switch is still working when you get a new one.
@DerpyDoge Are you sure? The only way they described in this video to sync save data is the Save Data Cloud backup. Splatoon 2 is not compatible with cloud saves. Therefore you lose all your save data if you buy a new Switch (and they may be coming out with a Switch Pro soon). You keep your purchase of the Octo Expansion so you can play it but you'll start over from scratch. No weapons, no levels, no ranks...
This makes me anxious about a switch XL or switch ultra or whatever they would call it, when I JUST got mine last year... Edit: last august! Forgot the thing only JUST came out last year to begin with, which is...arguably worse.
Honestly, the switch customer support is really good! Got my pro controller repaired from faulty sticks, and it was replaced with a perfect controller! Truly Nintendo has a seal of quality
I can confirm for the European customer support too. And not only Switch, it is Nintendo in general. My 2DS broke (first thing Nintendo I owned to ever even break) and they fixed it (AND made sure my data and games are all saved, I didn't need to do anything to set it back up even though they removed the main board) within 3 days. That INCLUDES shipping, so it really only was in their workshop for a day. There are things you can complain about with Nintendo, but their customer service isn't one of those.
Nintendo customer support is great. Today most gaming companies have only email or forum support, Nintendo has live customer support representatives to help you with all their systems and Nintendo games. Plus, they have the fastest repair department in the industry. You can complain about Nintendo in other areas but their customer support is not one of them.
You can't trade something accidentally. The very concept of trading implies willingness. The only reasons why you would need to unlink your account remotely would be if you lose it, or it is stolen. Or maybe you're just really stupid, but hey I like to think no one is that stupid.

You can also do a full system transfer. For games like Splatoon I think that game is an online game so all your Splatoon data should be associated with the user profile. No need to transfer, just login with your Splatoon 2 account on the new Switch and everything should most likely be there. Likely a video out there somewhere with someone testing this.

For everyone who doesn’t know. There is SYSTEM to SYTEM transfers. This transfers all data including Splatoon 2 save data. I’ve done it before and it worked flawlessly.

my friend has the left joycon issue too. i dont have any issues with my switch (i care for it way too much) but id recommend sending it to repair or getting new joycons. check which option is cheaper and go with it, dont make urself go to the service and pay more just because u have many joycons

@@ElectroBlastLuigi If you can afford a switch, then you can afford another one. Trading in rarely results in a good deal. It's like trading a Mewtwo for a Psyduck. For example, your console and games you traded in were purchased at a greater price than what you receive for them.

Please Nintendo Don't Name The Next Switch "New Nintendo Switch". Sounds Better "Nintendo Switch Pro" or "Nintendo Switch Deluxe".
Even better; don't make the next Switch. At least not yet. It's way too early.
I think they should leave the switches as they are without any of this "new" or "pro" stuff. It just makes people feel bad for being an early consumer and also generally makes actually new consoles more vague in what they are.
Also this time there wouldn't be exclusives like the handheld improved models either
I don’t think this is for a NEW switch but rather for the special editon switches that were annouced/released recently.
