    Lord's Cricket Ground, the "Home of Cricket," is a stunning blend of historical grandeur and modern elegance. Located in St John's Wood, London, its meticulously maintained pitch and iconic Victorian Pavilion exude tradition and reverence. The lush outfield and contemporary Media Centre create a striking visual contrast, symbolizing the union of past and present.

    I don't know if the guide mentioned it or not but the part of the ground connected to the practice ground and the Media Centre is called the "Nursery End" and the part of ground directly opposite to it where the pavilion lies is called... well the "Pavilion End". Since ends change every over in cricket, it usually gets mentioned a lot by commentators and that's where the uniqueness of the Lord's slope comes in.

      @@EvilKicksMoney I'd love to, sadly I don't think I'll be visiting India next month ... got a few places around Europe to go to and my day job prevents me from going anywhere for any long length of time. I would be cool to go there though.

    The entire place is a museum... This place, and Twickenham prove that England shouldn't have torn down Wembley and built the shiny thing they call Wembley now... What a shame...

    • @UltimateBucketList
      @UltimateBucketList  13 дней назад +1

      I dunno - having a relic for a national stadium isn't necessarily a good thing.
      I understand your reasoning for wanting to keep old museum piece stadiums, but real-world practicality is not there.
      Is the new Wembley a soulless gollum of existential dread? Yes.
      But it makes a lot of money that funds a competitive national team in a place where a normal person can watch sports in supreme comfort. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion.
